I woke up today in more pain than I did when I came in. First off, when I arrived he seemed insanely preoccupied. rushed me into a room, stuck an electric massager on me and left for 15 minutes. He bounced around with like 5 other patients that were in the office and it was like he was speed treating everyone. I tried to give it a chance because I thought when he came back he'd be more attentive and I'd get to ask questions. However when he came back he worked on me for 10 minutes at MOST. He was rushing like crazy and being rough with my body. He said to "communicate" if anything felt weird but he was going so fast I had no time to tell if it didn't feel right (which ended up hurting me). After, I tried to ask him questions about what he thought of my condition based of what he felt, he was so insanely rude and dismissive, basically shooed me to go pay. It felt like he had no interest in helping me and just wanted my money. WILL NEVER COME BACK !!! read more

I've done a lot of adjustments at other chiropractors through Groupon, but this was the first time I decided to get an adjustment without using a Groupon. With a bad reawakening of an old lower back injury, I opted to not use a Groupon discount because of the fact I never really felt a significant impact with those service providers. But BOY, am I glad I found Juan because like everyone else here said, he is a friggin' magician. I could barely walk when I first came in, but after the first session with Juan, I already felt 10 times better and was finally able to walk without intense pain. Now after the follow up adjustment, it's only continuing to improve and I'm sensing I can get back into my regular workout routine. Before I left, he recommended a few stretches for me to do at home so that the pain continues to stay away. I'm not totally 100% yet, but it's only been 1 week and if this is how I feel already? I'm a floral designer and I do a lot of work on ladders. I pushed through shoulder pain one day and the pain shot up to my neck. I was unable to lay down (thus I got maybe an hour of sleep), move without feeling pain, my head was stuck to the left and my left shoulder wouldn't go down. I booked an appointment with Juan the following morning and could barely lay down on the bench. He used a variety of methods and I was able to move my head again! Juan is so kind and efficient - he explained everything he was doing and showed me a couple of stretches to help strengthen my shoulder blades and moved the pain back from my neck to my shoulder blades. I was super stressed from having to cancel two days of work and his explanations alone made me feel more at ease. I saw Juan again the following morning and he did a few different things now that my head had been released. He gave me more stretches to try and I'm just SO grateful! Just a heads up, because of the methods used Juan doesn't need to be by your side from beginning to end. For me, he starts me out with electric muscle stimulation (?), I fall asleep, and then he comes back and does what he does! Dr. Gutierrez was gracious enough to see him that day and work his magic on my husband. My husband walked into the office in pain and barely able to move. Couple of main highlights I'll try to streamline as best as possible but very much worth the long read. My boyfriend and I started seeing Juan last year after his hand was experiencing numbness and a burning sensation. He's been behind the bar for 20 years, myself for about 12 years. As you can imagine we beat the sh*t out of our bodies and almost always in the same places. I genetically do not have the best bone structure, so I have always seen a chiropractor since I was a kid. He on the other hand was a little skeptical as he has never been adjusted before. Very quickly after our adjustments, his hand gained its feeling back completely and the pain went away. Most importantly, it did not return. Safe to say I got the "I told you so" I knew I would. About 5 months later I sneezed laying down and low and behold that can throw your back out. I was in such a serious amount of pain, I honestly forgot what walking normal felt like. Pretty sure I was in a 90 degree angle and my boyfriend had to help me sit to pee. If you hadn't guessed, I tried to tough it out and thought "walk it off" was a good tactic, thank you to my father for that life lesson. I called Juan and he immediately moved somethings around and made time for me in his schedule that day. The first visit had me walking upright and with no pain, just a little tenderness which was expected after how bad I let it get. Within 2 visits I was back to normal and completely pain free. Flash forward to this week and a new and fun pain of being 31 emerged. I have no idea what I did but what I thought was just a kink in my neck from sleeping, turned into me barely able to move or turn my head. I tried to rest it hoping it would go away but after having to call off 2 days of work, I called the only person in Brooklyn that I knew could help. Once again Juan came to rescue and stayed late on a Saturday afternoon to take me at the end of his day. I mean come on, what Dr. do you know that would take time out of their weekend to make sure you felt better? This is the first one I've ever met. Since this happened today I am not 100% quite yet but I have range of motion is back and am only little sore which is completely expected. By my next appointment, no doubt I will be back in full swing. A couple of things I love personally about Juan, after seeing so many chiropractors in my life. He's there for the "pops" I love a good crack and I want to hear it, drop tables aren't for me. He's very professional, knowledgeable, walks you through what's going on and advises/shows you what to do following your appointment. To that note his conversation during the appointment is light hearted and distracting, so you don't tense up and focus on what going on. Also as NYC chiropractors go, he's a lot cheaper than most and there's no bullsh*t fees. Couldn't be happier with his services and I know he will be saving me from myself again here very soon. read more
