I wish I could give Juan more than 5 stars. It is so hard to find a good chiropractor but Juan is truly the real deal. He's RIDICULOUSLY good with how he works with your body. Extremely intuitive and confident. And he listens to you--a rare things these days. I came to him after loading an entire U-Haul myself, driving 3 days cross-country and unloading it myself in the middle of Brooklyn. I'm strong and in good shape but this was a lot, even for me. Juan fit me into his schedule promptly and he's right on a good bus line that took me almost to his door. He used a combination of heat, electric stimulation, manual adjustment and Active Release Technique. He spent a lot of time with me and worked WITH my body, not on it. He has a lot of respect for the process of collaborating with a trained healer on your own physical health. I went in feeling broken and I came out feeling human again. After one appointment! I'm going to follow up with another--cuz imma gonna treat myself!--but knowing that he is there to address any concerns I might have in the future and to stay in tip top shape is so comforting. My go-to-release angel. I have numerous areas that require help from a 2007 hit and run that resulted in 5 surgeries and ongoing rehab since. I must have a good, solid, chiropractor with a great education and long practice who knows how to listen with his hands and heart and mind. Dr. Gutierrez took over a joint practice after his longtime partner moved away who I'd seen for 20 years and required weekly visits after the hit and run incidient. Hands down the greatest chiropractor office you will find. Dr. Juan took care of an ongoing problem I had in my back in just a few visits that my past chiropractor couldn't in months. I've been here several times, and each moment is memorable. But I can never forget the first time. I pulled/sprain my back muscle after putting my daughter in her car seat. I pain that I was in was so unbearable that I desperately was looking for a chiropractor on a Saturday morning that would see me and with the power of google I found Juan. Even while on the phone after making the appointment he gave me instructions what to do until I got to him. When I got to his practice he know what to do. He didn't cure me of my pain 100% but put me on the path to be better by that Monday. I pain after I left his office was almost or close to diminished. I would definitely recommend going him. Juan is an amazing practitioner! He was like a gentle giant with magic hands: kind, listened intently to what was paining me, and was thorough in my adjustment. He uses various helpful techniques: electro-stim, massage/stretching, adjusting, and a crazy amazing rolling vibrating massage tool! The chiro-hits kept coming! :) But truly, Juan is a good guy, extremely knowledgeable, not rushing you out the door -- takes his time. Where should I begin? I met Juan Gutierrez nearly 2 years ago and he immediately helped me. Not only a kind and patient soul but his knowledge and understanding of the body is unmatched. Through muscle release and manipulations- he helped put me back in place and brought me great relief after years of pain that I unfortunately had grown accustomed to. Started seeing Dr. Charlie here. I have been to several chiropractors over the years, and I can readily attest that he is the best I've seen. A truly skilled adjuster of the spine and a pleasure to be around. I have long standing neck and lower back issues and he knew intuitively what to do. What normally would take 5 or 6 visits he fixed in 2. No heavy pressure sales tactics to keep me coming back. Instead, he fully explained what my problem was and gave me instructions on how to maintain my spine. He doesn't require full spine x-rays like most chiropractors do. The office is very pleasant and easy to schedule via the online booking system. He also has his dog, Angel, who fits the name like a glove. She is beautiful and sweet, and I enjoyed petting her while I had therapy on my back. Honestly that was part of my therapy! Wish my dentist would bring her dog to the office! read more

This was a difficult review to write because I really like Charlie (Dr. Franchino). He's a super nice guy and is very kind. But unfortunately, as a chiropractor, he didn't cut it. He didn't x-ray me and seemed to dismiss a lot of my symptoms which would have helped me get diagnosed a lot earlier. He was very anxious to put lump me in with other patients he saw that were my age and had a similar job that required sitting for long periods of time. Even as my pain got worse and worse, he was kind, but rarely seemed to have the type of concern you would expect. Eventually, after many visits and no luck from his treatment (often times, it made things worse), The pain got so bad I had to go to the emergency room where the doctor diagnosed me me with pinched nerve in my neck and then sent me to the neurologist. This other doctor actually helped in the sense that he could give me some actual medication for my pain (which was extreme). Dr. Franchino's advice (given somewhat dismissively) was for me to take a hot shower, which was utterly ridiculous considering the amount of pain I was in. It's very easy to get an appointment at his centrally located office (he even has a cool dog that hangs out while you're getting treatment). But don't expect any miracles. He also runs the office by himself, which means sometimes he takes phone calls while with a patient. Personally, I find this a bit tacky and rude - his prices are not so low that you feel like its worth that - come on, dawg, get a secretary. Charlie is such a friendly guy that he often talks a lot while you're in treatment and tells amusing stories. But honestly, I wish he would have kept the chit chat down and focused more on my pain. I've seen chiropractors in the past, but swore it off a few years ago after meeting one too many quacks. It was only extreme pain that brought me back. That said, Charlie isn't a quack, but he wasn't very thorough. I think I'm done with chiropractors for good. I'd much rather stretch on my own and get a massage, which seems equally, if not more effective. read more

Charlie is the best of any chiropractor i've tried. he is an exceptionally pleasant person and maintains a welcoming atmosphere in his office. He is grounded and calm but has a buoyant energy, a warm smile, can engage in easy conversation or also be comfortable in silence, plays calm music and has a lovely rescue dog. He stimulates the muscles with little shocks to relax before the adjustment and then he very confidently and effectively does the adjustment. When the moment of truth comes he cracks backs properly with no hesitation or half-assedness about it. I am a physician who works hard to give each and every of my patients superior care and customer service. As such, I hold other doctors who treat me to that same higher standard. Sadly, in our current healthcare environment, that standard seems to be consistently and progressively lowered. That's why finding a healthcare provider like Dr. Franchino is a real find. He is simply fantastic chiropractor. I have seen him over the past 8 years (on and off) as my various musculoskeletal issues pop up. Jessica D's post is 100% on point. I've seen a few chiropractors in the past who were, at best, mediocre, so I was hesitant when considering going back to one. A very painful 5 hours in the back of a car, however, made me decide I needed to do something. Man, am I glad I did. After my very first visit I felt noticeably better; after the second the improvement was huge. After my third visit, Charlie was sufficiently satisfied with the results that he sent me on my way and said to give him a call if it started acting up again. It's worth mentioning that I work out regularly and am in fairly decent shape, which is relevant for two reasons: a) it certainly factors into how well you respond to the treatment, but more importantly, b) what Charlie was able to fix in a week and a half I'd been trying to resolve on my own in the gym for 3 months. JAUN!!!!! Is seriously the best of the best! I have never gone to a chiropractor in my life. I was scared out of my mind. He's so beyond kind, gentle, and explains himself and what he will do. I had the WORST back pain in my entire life I couldn't t even move my head or pick up clothes off the floor. I came in and after my second session I was back to jumping and skipping around. I have had lower back issues for ten years. Herniated disks, bulges, and now I have osteoarthritis of the lower spine. I've been to a lot of chiropractors over the years and usually you just get a quick adjustment and you're in an out in 15 minutes.
