This review is long overdue. I'm came to NYC for Thanksgiving vacation and I tripped on the uneven sidewalk and thought I dislocated my shoulder. By luck, I contacted Dr Allan and he was able to take me in immediately. He told me I sprained it and he did some adjustments and apply sports tape. Before going to Allan for my 16-year-old son. I took him to two Sports Doctors, two orthopedic Dr, Xrays, Sonic Scans and 10 physical therapy sessions. Dr. Allen Sicignano is my 5th chiropractor since 1985, and he is the best I have been to. I took a chance and just walked into his office in 1999 when I was at lunch, because I was not happy with the one, I was seeing. He couldn't manipulate my neck to give me any relief. After 19 years, Dr. A has helped me with back adjustments due to scoliosis, neck manipulations due to a rear end auto accident, a broken ankle (requiring 8 screws & a plate, then removal of plate and screws a year later), and throwing my back out shoveling snow. He was amazing as he educated me with his ankle manipulations to accelerate the healing process. After my snow shoveling, I could barely move, walking bent over and needed help to walk into his office. I was able to walk out and the pain went from a 10 to 2. I had 2 more adjustments and then went back to my usual once a week visits and was back to normal. I have been seeing Dr. A once a week for the past 19 years for maintenance of back and neck, and now I continue to see him 3-4 times a week. My body knows when I need to see him more than once a week, and he has always been accommodating. He is currently focusing on my neck as arthritis was indicated in my current xrays, and continues to adjust back, feet, shoulders as needed. As I approach 68 years of age, I feel blessed that Dr. A is part of my life journey. I don't think I would be able to walk 3-4 miles, climb 6 flights of steps several times a week or maintain two residences (heavy & light) house work. My quality of life would definitely not be what it is now! I have referred several people and will happily continue to refer people to this detailed oriented, highly skilled, considerate and caring chiropractor. read more

Guessing it's inappropriate to hug your doctor, so i'll stick with a yelp review. Went in very VERY skeptical, as I've seen all types of physical therapists / chiropractors / medical docs / acupuncturists / even those specializing in sports therapy for my neck. A solid decade of muscle relaxants, electrodes, massages, etc... TONS of time, money, and hope down the drain :( Physically couldn't go into work yesterday and today so thought I'd give him a go~ wow. i want a beer to celebrate. Doc was honest and confident. It's literally been just 30 mins since i saw him, so perhaps I shouldn't prematurely celebrate. But if he can deliver on his "promise to fix me," I'll have to name my next cat after the man. The best. I have never been to one, tried repeatedly to correct my headaches and achy body with acupressure. I had no idea the importance of having your vertebrae aligned and adjusted. I'm always skeptical when it comes to chiropractors, but this guy is making me believe again. 2 weeks ago I got really bad upper back pain which made it difficult to function, and no matter what I tried I could not shake it. Advil, Light Cardio, Warm Showers, Stretching... didn't help. Walked into Dr. Allen's office yesterday and within two sessions my back pain is down 80%. Dr. Allan has miracle working hands. I had strained my lower back and hadn't been able to walk for 4 hours yet he worked on my back (painless) and cleared up whatever was causing my pain. He aligned my spine and pelvic bones (painless as well). I have lower back pain that is genetic and he fixed that issue as well!! I am just so happy I can walk again and feel like a new person. My husband has been going to a physical therapist for years to work on his shoulder problem but saw minimal improvement. Dr Allan is the absolute best. I've been going to him for about a year or so and he truly is a life changer. Not only did he improve my posture but he also figured out my condition that had caused me other underlying health issues which he also managed to fix. He's a great conversationalist and he knows everything about everything, I've gone to him with completely unrelated issues and he still gave me great advice. He's also always available to his patients, even when he's not in the office he's just a phone call away and he always makes time for his patients and that's very hard to come by. I've had a couple of emergencies where I couldn't go to his office and I would call him and he would talk me through it and help me out. I read the positive reviews and thought he could help with my neck and shoulder pain because I fly a lot and spend long hours in front of a computer. I've gone to other chiropractors before in other cities and I have to say Dr Sicignano was one of the worst I've had. He's a real scumbag. I explained my symptoms to him and he first asked if I had been in a traffic accident. I told him no I had not. He proceeded to downplay my condition and said it might be psychological. He then tried to make a quick buck off of me by upselling me a bunch of stuff I didn't need. He started with a series of X rays, scans, and tried to sell me a brace. At first I was open to this but it seemed odd as none of the other chiropractors did this (they usually just felt around my spine and shoulders as I lay on a table and did adjustments/physical therapy). After looking at the X rays (cost $150!) he concluded there was nothing wrong with me. He said my right shoulder might be a bit imbalanced. Then he led me to the table and did a 10 second evaluation and adjustment. Then that was it. He asked me when I was coming in next time to do additional X rays and for further adjustments. As someone who grew up with two chiropractic parents, I have a VERY high standard for chiropractic care. My parents are always my go-to for adjustments and massages but when I travel I've had to try out a lot of different chiropractors when I have neck/back pain or need a tune-up before I'm able to travel home. Dr. Allan is by far THE BEST healer I feel so blessed to have stumbled upon!! Last week I woke up with an extremely painful earache and was told by a typical mainstream doctor that I had a major ear infection. He prescribed an antibiotic, a decongestant, as well as a pain relieving ear dropper medication. Since I haven't had to have any medication in YEARS I decided to try an alternative route before taking anything. My mom called around and found Dr. Allan who saw me right away within an hour!! And within 45 minutes he took my pain level down from a 13 out of 10 (it was really bad) to a 6 or 7, absolute miracle work and I was able to continue my day! I came back the next day and had absolutely zero pain within 24 hours. I've always known chiropractic care to be a helpful and preventative health care practice but to have a powerful healing experience like this was mind-blowing even to me. It was all jaw/neck tension manifesting as an earache, absolutely no need to be on an antibiotic or medication of any kind! You would be hard pressed to find a better chiropractor anywhere in the world, let alone NYC. The chiropractic adjustment is an art and when delivered by the hands of someone who is as skilled as Dr. Allan Sicignano the results are profound. Being a chiropractor myself and have been adjusted by hundreds of different chiropractors up and down the east and west coast I have yet to find anyone that comes close to Dr. Allan's touch and I give him my highest recommendation. When I graduated chiropractic school I wanted to learn from the best and was very fortunate to have practiced with and learned from Dr. Allan over the past several years. He primarily uses his hands to make the adjustments and sometimes will stretch you out on his manual traction table. He is well versed in a plethora of techniques but my favorite is the ones that involve getting your back "cracked." He gives a very precise and deep adjustment to the spine. This incredible experience at Dr. Allan's office has convinced me to bite the bullet and write my first yelp review! I have been very lucky to have had a few great chiropractor's in my life and I'm happy to have finally found one in NYC. About a month ago, I woke up with some extremely odd pain coming from my stomach/chest area. After 24 hours with no relief and the pain at a level 8, I headed to urgent care where they proceeded to tell me my gall bladder was inflamed and sent me on a 20 hour journey that landed me at the ER where they finally said they had no idea why it was inflamed and that I should just go home. I left the ER furious at the wasted time and not to mention insane amounts of money with my pain still at a level 8 or higher. The next day I was walking by Dr. Allan's office and decided to pop in because at this point I had nothing to lose. He was able to see me within an hour and as soon as he looked at me, he understood that my back was completely out of line - causing the irritation in my side and front. He adjusted me and I walked out a completely new person. He is a miracle worker and was able to fix me within 15 minutes, taking my pain from an 8 to a 3. I was floored and have been going back to him ever since. I wish there were a ten star review because that's what Allan deserves. I hardly know where to start in terms of describing what this man is capable of. If there is a more skilled, more effective, more caring, competent and knowledgeable chiropractor in the United Sates - forget about just New York - I'd be stunned and shocked. Dr. Sicignano is absolutely above and beyond any other chiropractor who has worked on me. I met Dr. Sicignano in 2001 through my now ex-boyfriend who was seeing him at the time for lower back pain. I started having a weird, undefined pain radiating through my right shoulder that was the result of my poor upper body workout techniques at the gym. I'd never experienced this kind of pain and could barely give an accurate description of it. Over the course of a few sessions and expertly targeted manipulations, the pain was eradicated, never to return. I was hooked and became a regular patient, getting adjusted at least once a month. Over the years, Allan has successfully treated several extremely insidious, painful and potentially debilitating problems including two severe bouts of sciatica. The most recent occurred the week of Thanksgiving 2013. When I called his office on Thanksgiving day in utter desperation, HE ANSWERED THE PHONE. His first question was: "How soon can you get here?" I now live in Philadelphia. Dr. Sicignano sincerely cares about his patients, understands the pain you are in and does everything in his considerable powers to alleviate it, is extremely accommodating and easy going and has a very cool clientele. Don't be fooled by the low key, innocuous location or office setting - this guy has some very high-powered clients on both coasts. I was referred to Dr. Allan by two people who HIGHLY recommended him for his work. Having never been to a chiro before, I was certainly skeptical. I've had lower back pain for about 10 years now (27 year old) from sports. After multiple visits over a couple months, I have no lower back pain and completely off pain killers. Waking up every morning and not having to worry about how shitty my back will feel during the day is a huge relief. He is very accommodating in scheduling appointments and more than happy to work with you on conflicts. The office is clean and very accessible in Soho, near the 4/5/6. I have been going to Allan for years--I call him every time my back acts up. I had seen other chiropractors before, but none of them hold a candle to Allan; he spends more time with his patients and does a good job of diagnosing the issues and making adjustments that address specific problems. Dr. Alan is great! i dragged a box of files at work and started having lot of back pain, i went to my regular Dr and he started doing x-trays and giving me drugs for the pain. Chiropractors scare me a bit - I've always worried that they could do more damage than good - but two days ago, I pulled my back and spent the rest of the day icing and taking Motrin, hoping that I would wake up the next day feeling better. Sadly, the next day (a Saturday) brought no improvement so I called around hoping I could get a chiropractor or Accupuncturist to see me. 5 calls later, I got ahold of SSC and they were able to fit me in 30 minutes later. I walked out an hour later feeling like a whole new woman. I started seeing chiropractors 25 years ago to treat my frequent migraine headaches. I have seen many chiropractors and only a very few have impressed me. One was Dr.Nicholas Biaita, nephew of Dr. Sicignano at Spring Street. Once Dr. Biaita moved to Florida, he encouraged me to continue at the practice with his uncle. Dr. Siciganano is the very first chiropractor who identified that my headaches resulted from an injury to my lower back. Since he began to treat my lower back, I am experiencing a sense of well being that I think most folks take for granted, and this has indeed also led to about 80% reduction in my headaches. Dr. Sicignano is effective yet very gentle. I used to be really scared of high speed adjustments. I am thankful for the great service he provides. read more
