Dr. Nachmias is the best chiropractor I've ever been to in my entire life. After years of recurring back pain due to the combined effect of scoliosis, carrying heavy textbooks in my book bags for years while in school, and a fall that hurt my back at age 15, I was desperate for relief and was convinced to go see a chiropractor by a friend who was tired of me constantly complaining about my pain. Dr. Nachmias struck me as a bit eccentric and unconventional at first, but make no mistake, he knows his craft really well and after having three adjustments I can confidently say that my back pain has been gone for a few years. My wife and I have been coming to Dr Nachmias for a while. He does an excellent job based on 2 dimensions: 1. He does a good job with the adjustments that need to be made and explains everything that is going on in detail and how it will help, etc. He also takes time to understand your daily life - do you sit at a desk, do you play sports, etc. At my first visit, he had me get x-rays of my neck so he could see what was going on in there. 2. He is very social and affable. He is very friendly and chatty. This is important because people get nervous when going to the chiropractor to get their back and neck snapped. His personality helps you calm down and relax before you get worked on. The other thing I like is that he has very good massage therapists working for him. It is important to match up a good massage therapist with the chiropractor as all the bones, ligaments and muscles work together. His office is conveniently located right outside the L1/2/3 stop at 14th Street (that connects to L/F/M/PATH 6th Ave stop), so the location is great, too. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Nachmias for treatment for just over 5 years now. Back in 2015, when I first began treatment following a lower back injury, I was in constant pain. An initial X-ray showed that the base of my spine was very crooked, and the space between my disks was badly compressed. My neck also had poor posture, and equally compressed spacing. After a month or two of weekly adjustments and some stretching, I noticed a difference in the amount of pain as well as my range of motion. And after 5 years of consistent chiropractic adjustments (and exercize to strengthen my back), a new set of X-rays showed that my spine AND neck were perfectly straight, with greater spacing between disks. This treatment truly changed my life. He also employs some extremely skilled massage therapists who have helped tremendously with other injuries. Highly recommend this office! read more

My back had been bothering me for a while but like everyone I took two Tylenol and figured it would go away. OH, HOW WRONG I WAS! I woke up one morning, after a very uncomfortable night, and found I couldn't stand up straight and had to walk crooked to the bathroom. I was in agony! I found Dr. Nachmias from online doctor website and got an appointment rather quickly. The office is nice and very well run. The doctor himself was very laid back and very funny. But he was very serious when you tell him you're suffering. After my first visit. I had relief. After the second visit.....I was able to get up after a nights sleep with no pain and I was no longer walking crooked. I am so happy to have found this doctor. I can't say enough about him. I was so happy with him, I made an appointment for my son. He works out at the gym and every now and again he will lift a weight the wrong way and throw his back out. No worries. I came to Dr. Nachmias for lower back pain due to a sports injury that was keeping me from doing just about everything (I could hardly walk). Dr. Nachmias was able to help me with alignment issues that solved the problem almost immediately!! I chose Dr. Adam for my husband back when he was my boyfriend... He is a journeyman carpenter standing at 6'4" and was always having back trouble due to the manual labor he puts himself through on a daily basis. To keep things short and sweet Dr. Adam was able to save my husband from getting back surgery and I love him for that. As far as my back... I had very little to no pain prior to pregnancy... Now that I'm entering my second trimester my back has extra weight to carry and was constantly cramping prior to seeing Dr. Adam. I saw him about a week ago and he was able to preform a pre natal adjustment on me that left me feeling the best I have in over three months. Not to mention the prenatal massage he referred me to... I have been going to chiropractors all my life since my Dad took me to one at age 11, and will go forever! I've seen people who are book smart, but bad clinicians and visa versa. Dr. Nachmias is an all around great clinician who accomplished in one session what normally requires 3 or 4 visits to achieve the same. Since I retired a year ago I was a little scared that I was deteriorating with age (haven't told him this yet) After my session I was so relaxed and felt so robust! Most chiropractors have a bad reputation because they figure out how many appointments your insurance will allow and then somehow your treatment plan magically requires the same number of allowable visits and then has you in their office every two hours for the next two weeks. NOT HERE! I saw the doctor with some significant pain and discomfort, he knew exactly what I needed, gave me an adjustment, helped me stretch, and sent me on my way with instructions to return in about two weeks or sooner if required. I came to Dr. Adam with serious doubts that any chiropractor could fix my back. My lower back pain was constant and debilitating. Not only was I living with this pain every day, but I had serious mental anguish as to what this issue was. Did I need surgery? Do I need pain killers? The unknown was as bad as the pain. "I am going to be in pain for the rest of my life." That's what a said to my husband four weeks after my injury. The pain was horrible. I had been doing a split - something that always came easy and naturally to me - when I felt a sudden electric shock-like pain shoot through the right side of my body. Figuring it was a muscle strain, I did all the things one does: Rest, Ice, Elevation... No good. Sitting was torture and I couldn't walk more than two city blocks without a pause. Standing on a crowded subway train? Talk about a new level of hell! The pain was even making it hard to concentrate at work. Nothing was getting better and I felt pretty hopeless. I found Dr. Nachmias through my insurance and, after reading a few reviews, I thought I'd give chiropractic medicine a try. Best decision I've made in a long time! The office was quite busy, but cheerful and friendly. Dr. Adam came out to introduce himself and check on the appointments throughout my brief wait - very attentive and personable. When he met with me he could tell my right hip was not in the correct position and - after my first consult, an initial chiropractic adjustment, and a session of gentle electric therapy - sent me for x-rays to review on my next visit. My leg felt a small improvement after the first session - but it was after the second visit that I really felt a really big change- for the better! Chiropratic treatment isn't a "quick fix" - it's a therapy that offers long term benefit with regular care.
