When I started the acupuncture sessions, I did not know what to expect. I decided to try acupuncture out of desperate needs because of a heart condition that was worsening as time passed and western medicine wasn't working. I remember going into my first acupuncture session and feeling nervous, however, I remember leaving the room re-energized and hopeful of getting well. During all my sessions, Jennifer always takes the time to comfort me, guide me, and provide me with education about my overall health. I learned about my body, mind and emotions in a very holistic manner. We discuss and explore stressors in my life that impact my body, mind, and organs. In addition, we created a plan to ensure a path of healing. I started with weekly sessions to help me with my heart condition and to learn more about healing my body and mind. Immediately, I started seeing results, I felt more energetic, reduction of stress, reduction of anxiety, in the process while I was healing because of my overall health improvement I was prescribe a lower dosage of medication for the heart condition. As we continued the work, my body was responding well to acupuncture and herbs. Finally, I'm no longer on medication, I'm able to be physically active, my body and mind do not respond to stress in an unhealthy manner, and my life has so much meaning and joy. I'm doing great physically, emotionally, and spiritually, the experience helped me aligned my body and mind. If you're looking to reduce stress, heal, and/or connect with your spirituality Jennifer is the person to see. I'm so grateful to connect with Jennifer and be open to the holistic experience.

That's not what other friends who do Acupunture feel when they leave their sessions. I'm well into a few session with her and my anxiety levels are down, sleep is great, no more migraines and lower back is slowly progressing! I'm also grateful for all the knowledge she shares in regards to the acupuncture and the body. I cannot begin to describe what a blessing it's been to learn about this practice with her and experience it. I can truly say that Jennifer has changed my life for the better, she is a unique beam of light and excellent at what she does!

Her office is in a great location and super easy to get to. The office itself is very relaxing and I could feel my stress going down when I walked in. She began by sitting with me and going over my history, questions, issues, etc. She explained and demonstrated what she does and why she does it. She even took out a spine model. Honestly, no one had ever done that before and it gave me such a better understanding of my pain. She really took the time to get to know me. She takes a more holistic approach and believes that when you treat the spine you are not only treating back pain, but effecting every system in your body. I couldn't agree more. The adjustment itself was amazing. I am officially addicted. SInce I began seeing her my lower back pain and migraines have disappeared. I also feel more relaxed and less stressed for days after my visit. She even gave me great reading material for my subway ride home :) Although she doesn't take insurance, her prices are very reasonable and I could afford it without insurance which is awesome. I HIGHLY recommend her!

I have been seeing Dr. Jacobs since May of 2011, subsequently after being injured in a car…read moreaccident. Since then Dr. Jacobs has done a fantastic job of going above, and beyond your average chiropractor to improve my body, and have less pain. Nancy takes the time and care to sit down, and explain how you can actually improve your life, and have less or no pain. Nancy teaches and demonstrates methods such as: how to improve posture, ergonomic devices, nutrition, exercises/stretching, and a lot more. I was rear ended by a 24 foot truck, sustaining serious whiplash. Afterward, my entire body was inflamed, I had trouble standing and walking for too long. I had constant migraines, my thoracic (middle back) was in constant pain, and I could barely turn my neck in any direction. My MRIs revealed that I had several herniated discs throughout my cervical (neck), one herniated disc in my lumbar (lower back). And an EMG test revealed I had a pinched nerve in my thoracic area, and in the right side of my neck. The prescriptions prescribed by my Pain Doctors only disguised the pain, and had terrible side effects. Physical Therapy was not helping much, and there were so many people at their office, there was attention, and all they cared about was billing my insurance. I saw several spine specialists, and all they wanted to do was give me an injection/epidural of steroids. I found Park Ave Chiropractic on the internet when seeking a more holistic natural way to helping my pain. Within the first visit Dr. Jacobs did just so, to help guide me in a more holistic route to be pain free. Nancy's neck adjustments quickly helped alleviate my migraines, and improve my neck pain. Nancy recommended the herbal supplement "Inflammatone," a natural anti-inflammatory supplement to take; instead of advil or prescription anti-inflammatories which can cause stomach/liver and other serious problems when taken too much. The inflammatone not only reduced my inflammation but improved my digestion, which is associated with back pain. In time I found that her techniques used on my thoracic was the only thing that would help the pain. And now, I barely ever have pain in that area. My neck pain has improved a remarkably. One tool Nancy utilizes that I've become a huge fan of, after it saved me from getting surgery is Cold Laser. Unrelated to my car accident, I had an infection on the outer area of my naval (belly button), my MD put me on Levaquin, which I soon found out...I was allergic to. After ridding the Levaquin out of my system, my MD put me on another anti-biotic, and said that if it didn't work I would have to have a surgeon remove the infection...that anti-biotic didn't work! After sharing this with Nancy, she suggested we try Cold laser therapy on the infection...within a month the infection was gone. No surgery for me! Lastly, Nancy is an expert nutritionist. With her nutritional and excersizing advice, and guidance, I have lost 25 pounds (and counting).

I found the Groupon and went in. Dr. Kavanaugh spent less than 5 minutes adjusting me and asking questions. His diagnosis was that it was a strained muscle. When my shoulder did not feel better after the adjustment, he said that was normal and to come in for another adjustment. I trusted him and regret it, as I experienced pain shooting down my arm afterwards. I researched and later came back in saying that I thought I had a pinched nerve upon my second visit. He agreed with my diagnosis but then gave me a full blown adjustment. In hindsight, this was incredibly dangerous. I complained that I still couldn't look right without pain after the visit was complete, but was again told to come back in for another visit. That weekend, I experienced excruciating pain and could not undress myself to get into bed. I thought I was going to puke while crying from the pain. Luckily I went to another clinic and they took an X-ray. The doctor was flabbergasted that Dr. Kavanaugh did not advise an X-ray after I presented with shooting arm pain. He displayed extremely poor medical judgement to give a full adjustment to a patient with a pinched nerve. Despite paying in advance for additional adjustments, I will never return to this clinic.
