My previous PT experience was focused on getting me back to "normal daily living" - well, as a competitive athlete that wasn't the "normal" I wanted to go back to. What I loved about my Lion Physical Therapist is that he asked me right away what my goals were and then the team worked with me to get to the point where I could start to do the physical activities I loved to do pre-surgery. I've been through PT many times in the past and Lion Physical Therapy is the most I've sweated (and cursed lol) during a PT session. I highly recommend them! Here are some photos of me doing fun activities after I was cleared to do them (safely!).

It's incredibly sad that helping people has become a commercial, money making machine. I had a very…read moredisappointing and life changing experience with Dr Voloshin DPM, of Brooklyn, NY. He performed a major reconstruction of both my feet in 2020. Since then, I've had a new type of pain that isn't going away, and completely deformed, crooked toes. I went to multiple post op opinions, last being with an orthopedic surgeon from HSS and everyone was horrified with my scars, surgery, and before/after photos. Everyone is asking 'why?' In retrospect, my biggest mistake was not getting a second opinion after seeing Dr Voloshin. I blindly trusted in what Dr Voloshin told me (he is a 'doctor' after all!) . I had no concept of understanding of how surgery should be done and what are the risks associated with it. Dr Voloshin didn't explain the risks to me of the procedures he was going to do, like toe shortening, ironically, he assured me, that I won't even notice, that anything was performed on my toes, that flexibility will back 100% in a few months, that I'm going to thank him forever,"I guess won't forget him now forever". If he would have told me that the toes may not heal properly because of how RISKY the surgery was, that the toes are going to be stiff forever - I would have never agreed to the surgery. My toes and feet were healthier before, I didn't have a hammer toe, but now, only God knows how I can find a specialist who can fix the awful, botched job that Dr Voloshin performed on me. I'm only 37.On top of it all, I am not able to do any sports or physical activity because of the amount of pain I'm in and stiffness of my toes.I'm destroyed. Dr Voloshin should not be operating on anyone and should not be trusted. P.s. I'll attach my photos, it's hard to look at them though

At that time she was unable to walk or use shoes on the bad foot. She has fully recovered by now and can even run with grand kids! I also take my 10 yr old child there who had severe flat arch on both feet. He has been living with foot pain ever since he was able to walk. Dr Voloshin takes a foot print and special orthodontics inserts are prepared for his foot every year, since the foot grows fast. He is pain free now, runs and jumps without any issues. I am super happy for my mom's successful surgery, as well as my child's developing arch!

By way of comparison: both an Italian and a Russian doctor were able to diagnose me in just 10 minutes during an online consultation--immediately after reviewing my test results. The diagnosis: axillary nerve compression. This Dr. Rokito is a terrible human being who is indifferent to people's health; perhaps he is simply an incompetent specialist, but I suspect he is merely uninterested in patients with low-cost insurance plans--moreover, I distinctly felt that I was being treated with disdain. I spent two months waiting to see this Rokito, only for the doctor himself to grant me a paltry 10 minutes--and not even provide a diagnosis, essentially stating just one thing: "I cannot, and will not, help you." Doctors like this should burn in hell--or find a profession other than medicine.

He sent me to NYU Langone Orthopedic Center, and after a few month of exercise there and at home with exercises the Tech showed me, my shoulder was as good as new. No operation! Recently, I had a lot of pain behind my knee. I hadn't fallen nor did I bump my knee. After three days, I could not walk without a crutch. I was in pain so bad, I was crying. Dr. Rokito said I had water on my knee, a by-product of the arthritis I had in my knees, which I never felt and never knew about. He did an aspiration of almost a tube full of water, gave me a cortisone shot, and I was able to walk without help that evening. I am following up with exercise at the same Orthopedic Center but, meanwhile, I feel fine. There's nothing better than a surgeon who "fixes" you withOUT surgery!

But I threw out my back & I've had it with the steroid injections & bs. So I spoiled myself. They just reopened on Willoughby in Bushwick and oh my lanta!!!! It's a much more intimate space than they had 10 years ago, when you go for the community option I think there's only three beds now. Not only does the bed heat up, but the wonderful Dr Patchi put a heating lamp on my back for my cramps. LUXURY I swear this was a spa like experience! Patchi is super warm & chill, and SO intuitive with her hands. She also used a tens unit which I completely love. She is so so so skilled, and that excellent skill is overshadowed in the best way by her warmth. When we were done I slowly sat up and stretched my back a bit, and felt pops where I've been really needing to feel pops! She also did some needling for an ankle I broke last year that I'm still healing, and I'm really impressed by how much that worked. Of course it isn't magic, I still have cramps and my back is still rough, but both are much much much more manageable after just one session. I was tipped off to a pay what you can day coming up soon, and I really really really appreciated that (& immediately booked a spot). Being broke sucks, this economy sucks, looking for a job sucks, and it sucks even more when you feel like you're being judged for not having much money (esp since Bushwick is turning snooty). That tip was such a compassionate move, and it's so kind that they're having to pay what you can day!!!
