I was put in touch with North Valley Mechanical on two separate occasions through my home warranty company. Both times, they were great to deal with from start to finish. The office always contacted and responded to me promptly. They are always very courteous and professional. Technicians were able to identify the issue and fix it promptly. More recently, my AC stopped blowing out cold air in the middle of this crazy summer. I called another company on the approved list and the earliest appointment was 3 days later. When I called North Valley Mechanical, they sent someone out the very next day. The technician identified the problem within 5-10 minutes. Unfortunately, he didn't have the right replacement part so he wasn't able to fix it right then. He said someone from the office will reach out to me. In my desperation and brain fog from this heat, I reached out to the office via text, and they text me back immediately with another appointment for the very next day. The second technician came out and 40 minutes later, I am happily writing this review in the comfort of my own COLD home. Other cool thing - when the first technician came out, they sent me a link with his whereabouts as he was making his way to my house. This helped me to pull myself together prior to arrival. A few years back during another repair, I asked them give me a quote for a new AC unit. They sent someone to see me the very next day. Technicians were pretty straight forward. The two that came this time weren't the friendliest. However, I'm not bothered by it. Writing this more just as a FYI for readers. They were professional. They diagnosed and fixed my issue. The absolute worst plumbing experience. We as the homeowners installed a new toilet and it didn't flush correctly but flushed. We just needed to have the toilet uninstalled and reinstalled and somehow get taken for 945.00. The plumber conned us into doing unnecessary services and spent almost 6 hrs in my home just to come to the conclusion that the toilet was defective. I'm not 100% convinced the toilet was defective but needed some type of answer after 6 hrs and a 945.00 bill. If you value your time and money, DO NOT have this company come out to your home. From start to finish, NVM was an education for us. We are so happy we chose them to update our 22 year old HVAC system. They weren't the least expensive, but that's because they offer comprehensive services to really cool/heat your home here in the Valley of the Sun. They replaced original registers and caulked them all, and added more spray insulation in attic. Afterward, the south-facing bedroom wasn't getting cool enough, so they came back and changed out the house's original, smaller ducts and only charged us a few bucks for materials. Called to get my AC cleaned after purchasing a year plan for over $500 and got denied. This plan is supposed to cover 2 cleanings a year. I used one upon my purchase of the plan. Apparently under the fine print of the contract cleanings are not covered in the last 3 months of the "year" contract. Really bad business practice to mislead your customers to thinking you are covered for the year. Wish to see more honest places live up to claims. North Valley Mechanical, Jim Reed and the install guys are top notch! The price was right for our new, energy efficient system and cheaper with a better unit than what was quoted by our previous, long-time company. They arrived as scheduled, spent the time needed to make sure everything to be installed was working and then returned the next day to finalize one small aspect of the installation that THEY discovered needed to be done. I've used them before about 3 years ago to install a mini-split system in the "far" back bedroom that was always hot in the summer and cold in the winter. That installation went so well that when our to-be-replaced 14+ year old full-system heat pump needed (1) significant, costly repairs to get through the winter and (2) the previous company's estimate for a new system of lesser quality than what was quoted by NVM, there was no doubt about which company and unit we'd be buying. Was blown away by this company. Had multiple companies come out before them to diagnose why our AC was failing. All the others did was recharge the unit. Since the recharge didnt work and the latest/ previous company couldn't figure it out, we had our home warranty reassign our case and it was given to North Valley (AKA Way Cool). While we expected the same ol song and dance these guys actually did a thorough inspection and found the root cause. While inspecting our unit and house they were beyond respectful and even wore booties without even asking if they had to. When they completed their review they actually figured out why it wasn't working and has been working ever since. They were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. What a pleasure to have this company be the one chosen by my warranty company. I am accustomed to some of the lesser service providers being forced upon a homeowner when using a warranty for repair. But not this time. Regardless, a company is only as good as their technician that goes out. And I got lucky. Payne showed up on the early part of the window that they had given me, which was greatly appreciated for my A/C on a brutally humid summers day. After about 1/2 hour he explained that the electrical box assigned to the unit had stopped functioning. Since it was Friday at about 4:15, he couldn't get it replaced until the following week. Obviously, the home was not livable in August without A/C. I was not happy. Low and behold, Payne comes back to the house and says that there is a distributer that is "not that far away after all" and they have the part. Son of a gun! He got back before 5 and got me up and running like a hero without a cape. I was ecstatic. What a sharp, polite, professional young man. He was at my home til about 6pm on a Friday to make sure I was up and running. I was incredibly impressed with Payne in every way. Thanks so much. If there were ever a reason to keep my warranty where its at, it is because of this. I've had poor contractors come out because its the only service provider the warranty company would approve. A/C repair We had the company come out to work on our A/C, it was a home warranty service call. All these guys did was try and up sell us with a new A\C systems and other repairs. They told us the had to order parts to the unit's working. They told us not to run the units because we could burn up the compressors and it would be our fault.I called the home warranty company, they were suspicious of the company's pressure tactics. The home warranty company sent out another company, they looked at the units and could not confirm any of the repairs needed. They turned on the units and they have been working perfectly ever since. My AC stopped cooling so I called around to find someone that would work on my model (I have a ductless unit that not every company services in my home studio). From the second I got in contact with North Valley they were nothing but great. They scheduled me for a visit the next day, they showed up on time and within 20 minutes my technician, Tim Starks had me up and running. He showed me the issue with my freon line, swapped out the part and I haven't had any issues since. Tim was super friendly and took the time to answer all my questions after he completed the job. I was pretty happy with my experience with NVM. The issue with my unit was pretty minor and easy to fix. What I really liked and appreciated about the service was their proactive approach to reaching out to me. I called in an issue(to my home warranty) on a Sunday night at 9pm to complain about my AC. My warranty company sent my info to NVM and I expected to receive a call sometime on that Monday to schedule me for an appointment later that week. Well, I got a call midday on Monday that a technician was in my neighborhood and could stop by if I was available....what do ya know... I was. I hesitated to write this review because I was hopeful this hvac company would step up. The service was great when I was comparing companies to purchase a new unit from. Just a few years after installation of my new unit it failed. It has been over 2 weeks and they still have not fixed it. I get the run around when I call. The promise to call me back with an update is not kept. The promise to install the replacement the next day was not kept. No one returns my call. Meanwhile my house is hot, including my expensive wine, food, and spices. On top of all this we are being asked to pay approx $500 an hour for their time in replacing the new parts! On the I-10 (west bound), I decided to switch lanes to get ready to exit on North AZ-51. After having my blinker on, checking my mirrors and my blind spot, I decided it was safe to switch into the lane to my right. At the same time, a North Valley Mechanical van behind me switched into the same lane from the other side. The front of his large vehicle hit the back right side of my car. I slowed down, kept my blinker on, hoping the van would pull over so we could exchange insurance information. The van proceeded to remain very close behind and honked at me 3 long times. Feeling unsafe, I switched over one more lane and the van kept driving. Feeling like he would drive off, I captured a picture of his license plate. Not knowing what to do, I called my mom and asked if I should follow him. She told me to just get off on the next exit and check the damage of my car and call non-emergency since I was not injured. Listening to her advice, as I exited, the van and I passed one another where he proceeded to scream exploitative language at me while waving his hands and flipped me off. It was evident this driver was careless and reckless. Luckily the damage to my car was just a paint scuff, but the driver's behavior was disgusting. I emailed the company and all their conclusion was "We have no damage to our vehicle to support your claim." Even though I provided pictures. The damage isn't even my main issue, other wise I would have gone straight to my insurance. It's the fact that North Valley Mechanical has drivers with road rage and drive dangerously. An apology would have been nice!!! When I told them that they gaslighted me and said "I'm sorry for what you believed you experienced" and then proceeded to contradict their poor apology with a however and spoke highly of the technician that LITERALLY HIT MY CAR AND HAD ROAD RAGE. Hilarious that they said he was "mild." I was SCARED for my LIFE!!! This behavior is disgusting and shows that North Valley Mechanical hires people that are rude and dangerous- you do not want to do business (especially in your home) with people that have anger issues and are careless! Consumer beware. AC wasn't cooling so we called out North Valley Mechanical for a diagnostic. Their 'diagnosis' was your AC is old and we are going to charge a lot to 'fix' it or we can charge you 3 times what other companies charge to replace it. Either way you are out the diagnostic charge of $89 and they also left our unit open and left a screwdriver behind. My AC started acting funny on a Saturday evening and totally went the next day. I had to sleep without cooling for one night and that was enough for me. Because my unit is an R-22 model that would need to be completely replaced in two years anyway I secured bids from multiple companies. Based on Yelp reviews and overall pricing I decided to go with North Valley. Kirk is an old school owner who came in to provide the estimate and was able to size up my home in less than 30 minutes. Although I had to wait a week for the install it was well worth it. Kirk, Derrick, and Steve came at 7:30am and did not leave until the work was completed at 10:30pm. This was not typical as they are usually done at around 6:00pm. However the heat was so extreme they needed the extra time. I'm glad I had all of the cold bottled water to help keep them cool! As I lay here typing this review after dealing with multiple nights at 94 degrees it is 83 degrees. I know this because the ecobee thermostat they installed can be controlled from my smart phone. It is also Amazon Alexa enabled and does not need batteries. I could not have asked for a more professional crew of men who went the extra mile to take care of me. We love to YELP great reviews for awesome companies! We have used this company before with no issues. Unfortunately we had a bit of an emergency situation with a Townhome we are in escrow with, with a tenant and AC issues came up in the inspection. We had NVM out to access the situation. The AC had been working but as soon as their tech arrived (not the friendliest guy) he reported to us that the compressor had froze right then after he had me go up and turn down the air. Long story short ... We contacted company to figure out what to do and whoever it was that spoke to my partner was very unprofessional stating at one point "The unit was dead when we got there(not true) KIDDO" very condescending and basically calling us liars. It had worked beautifully until last weekend recently it just stopped working blowing warm air and when I looked inside it was frozen over like a popsicle. This company is very honest and reasonably priced. They just completed installing new ductwork and insulation in my 1962 house. North Valley Mechanical completed the work as quoted wiht no upcharges or surprises on the day of installation, AND they fixed the insulation to help make the house cooler. It took me four years to find an honest company. I had 5 other quotes from different companies, and those quotes were 6-10 times more expensive. None of the other companies suggested increasing the insulation. North Valley actually fixed my problem when no one else could give me an honest quote. I also use them for annual maintenance on my AC unit, and they are fast and responsive. There have been a few times when I have called them because the AC was having issues, and they got there quickly and fixed it. They could have told me the unit needed to be replaced, but instead, they fixed the drain line and filter and it was back to working again. I highly recommend this company. read more
