After receiving a postcard in the mail from this company, I was a bit skeptical at first after reading the past reviews and complaints online. However, after seeing they had an A+ rating through the BBB while being a sole proprietorship since 1995, my skepticism became engrossed. Not to mention, this was the only moving company that would physically come out and assess my home and belongings. I really appreciated the time and commitment it took for Teresa to come out and take a look at what all needed to be done, rather than just ask me a million mediocre questions over the phone without any discernment for what is unseen. We have several valuable possessions and family heirlooms that are undoubtedly priceless in memories alone; therefore, we were taken aback with relief and solace when we were reassured our effects would be handled with great care! We discussed everything from packing materials and their pricing (we really appreciated their not-to-exceed price considering a lot of these other big-name companies have charged us with unmentioned fees in the past) to the furniture covers they use to protect our furniture that would be used during the entirety of our move to even what equipment they would need to be able to safely move some of our heavier, more substantial items. Our experience with this company just in the planning of our move far exceeded any other company we have tried moving with before. On our scheduled moving day, Teresa called to inform me when her movers were on their way and to assure me everything was on schedule and all according to plan, which was another sigh of relief in our very hectic, stressful time of moving. The movers arrived and were very courteous and hospitable. They never let us lift a finger or break a sweat! They worked in sync with one another nonstop in the middle of the August-Texas heat while maintaining professionalism and delightful attitudes! They successfully transferred our belongings from our old home to the next without any mishaps or setbacks. They made the unpacking process smooth and painless by unloading our things in an organized manner as well as reassembling our furniture! This whole process was such a breeze compared to our moves in the past! My husband and I were very impressed by the way this company was able to alleviate all our worries and stress during the entirety of our arduous journey of moving. The professionalism and dexterity this company had shown us made me write this review because the experience my family and I had was well beyond our expectations, and we felt it was very much needed to ameliorate any of those previous reviews that too had made us skeptical at first! First of all, I am missing boxes. One box clearly marked "fragile, jewelry box" A box of hardback books with 3 Family Bibles in it. A medium box of towels and sheets. The Jewelry box had high school rings in it, 2- 2 Dollar bills and precious coins with angels on them. I guess I should not have marked the box with " jewelry box" on it in red marker. :( Some of my furniture had minor damage on it. Even though they were wrapped with blankets. Master bedroom bed the hardware was missing. We had to run to Home Depot to get parts. My Dryer had a knob broken on it. Cost me $190.00 to replace. They used furniture dollies to move the refrigerator which was too heavy for it. And unbalanced. Instead of using an appliance dolly. I blame the hot head manager for that. He was rude and yelled at me. I asked him to leave my home. Broke a light globe in the kitchen, had to order on one line for new owners. Would I use them again No. Would I recommend . We recently used North Texas van lines for our local move. The crew was prompt and on time with the expected arrival window and finished all in one day. My house was all packed up but the garage, the team did not hesitate to move the house items first, which allowed me time to work on the garage packing. I selected this company for three reasons in order of importance: 1) they are woman-owned and I have spent my professional career advocating for and assisting women-owned businesses in the southwest and across the nation. I believe in women-owned businesses. 2) they were the only moving company of all that I sought quotes from who sent a person out to my house to assess the need before quoting a price. 3) they gave me a "not to exceed" price that was very competitive. My actual experience with the owner, Teresa, and with one of her managers, JB, was deplorable. She did not deliver the equipment that she promised, including a trailer that was assessed as needed, picture boxes for delicate artwork, etc. The crew arrived an hour late (at 10:30 am) and didn't leave with all my belongings until 7:00 pm. Teresa arrived at 6:00 having finally got a trailer. She did not apologize for anything, blamed the moving crew who were nothing but gentlemen, and her only response to my complaints was "read your contract". A manager that was with her (JB) shot me the finger and called me a curse word (B....) twice. He was very threatening. I will share this information with my network of women owned businesses, government entities, and major corporations. This is a business that no one should ever use. read more

I would have given this company no stars, if the review would have allowed. DO NOT use them ever! It's a sham of a company. They will lie to you from the time they tell you how your things will be packed, stored, and moved. You will receive your household back, covered in dust, dirt, cobwebs, and mice droppings. If you do file a claim, the owner will not go through insurance, because I don't think she has any. I've moved over 20 times and have never had so much damage and even items missing, in all combined, that I had in this move. I could go on and on, but just know.... beware! read more

Terrible service! Theresa the owner informed us that the crew would be later than expected for our move. No problem, right? When they failed to show up for our move, my husband called multiple times and left multiple messages for Theresa ( the owner). She never answered the phone calls or responded voice messages or texts. We had to rent our own truck and move ourselves the next day!!! Not professional at all! read more

I used this company twice in 6 months and there were issues both times. The first time they got the date wrong but showed up the next day late. I was moving to a storage facility but at the end of the day 2 of the guys started arguing with each other which went on for like 30 minutes. It was very strange. The second time they showed up I asked for the same 3 guys but only 1 of the original guys showed up. One of the other guys wasn't as careful with my stuff and ended up breaking 2 of my favorite possessions. One is unrepairable and the other is but I've waiting for over 2 months for a check for my claim. I am getting nowhere now. Teresa is avoiding my calls and texts which is extremely unprofessional. She's the one that suggested the claim so why is she avoiding me? Just send me the check that I was promised!!! read more

We used them to move in May. They bragged about their ability to package up our BBQ and the quality of their move. However, they broke the BBQ in the move. Packed canvas painting/pictures without protection and then laid heavy items against them stretching the canvas. They broke several items. Furniture corners, frame scratches, hanging mirror. When I asked about what to do about the things they broke the owner yelled at me about signing the final bill. I never refused to sign the final bill, I only had a question about the process of the claim. I filed the claim. I sent pictures. I heard NOTHING back after multiple e-mails. I have had to move a lot over the years and this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I get a few breaks or scratches but this was excessive and the packing was poor. Who lays furniture against canvases? I am not one to write bad review and try to give the benefit of the doubt, but they refused to respond and handle the claim! BEWARE! Replacing my broken items cost $9800. We are nice people. We tipped and fed the crews working. I write this review now, because they have 90 days to respond to a claim and could have corrected it. It is now over, and no response. They failed to correct or attempt to correct the damage done by the moving crews. read more

I wish there was a way to not give any stars, or just a "run, run far away from this company" button!! We hired this company for our move on October 1st at 9am. They never showed up and never returned my many, many calls! I set up the appt 3 weeks early to make sure we had movers scheduled for an on time move out...we had just a couple of days to get everything moved out of the house. I called to confirm our appt and no one showed up on the move day..as you can imagine, moving is very stressful so to have no one show up to move you, no truck or help to move all your furniture and boxes...it was a terrible thing to go through...since we had to be out so the new homeowners could move in, we were left in a very bad spot with them not showing up or even calling to tell us what was going on! To this day I have not heard from them, they never returned any of my messages..never called to explain themselves...nothing! On a side note, the next day we found a great moving company Peerless Precision..they were able to squeeze us in last minute and charged half of what North Van Lines quoted me! I would recommend them to anyone moving they worked very hard, wrapped everything securely and nothing was damaged...best movers ever! I called Teresa a few weeks out from a flyer I received in the mail. She was professional and courteous. I received a confirmation call the Sunday before. The day of, the guys arrived on time. They were respectful to me and my belongings. They worked hard all morning, even in the rain. Everything arrived in one piece and I have zero complaints! I had a terrible experience with a different company prior to this, and Teresa, Chris, and Brandon were like a breath of fresh air. I even had a problem where I thought items were misplaced and I went into complete panic mode, only to find out that i left them in the original location. The entire time we had an open line of communication and she and her guys were still helpful and calm. I really really appreciate them and would definitely recommend - and use them in the future. read more

The most unprofessional, unapologetic, disorganized movers I've ever dealt with. Not only were some of our items missing and damaged, but we were actually given furniture that does not belong to us. And, they won't come back to get it! They didn't reassemble any of the items that THEY took apart except for our beds and kitchen table even though they claimed that "the driver and crew will reassemble any items they disassembled at origin". And, the parts to said items weren't kept together. Several things were damaged when they took them apart improperly. They also removed items they were repeatedly told not to move. As for the movers themselves, some of them looked like they were hired off the street corner. I could've done that myself! The so-called "foreman" kept making excuses, cursing at his subordinates and telling everybody that "his mom is the owner" and "they're going to be fired". It was just a sad, lame display. Don't hire these people to move your dog house. They'll probably drop it and tell you the dog did it. read more

I regretfully hired this company to move the contents of a small apartment and a large townhome to a new home. They charged me over $4000 to move everything. And since the move involved three locations on three different days, I tipped each of the three crews $50 per man each time....totaling $500. They picked up the apartment stuff and loaded it into their "pods" and held it for approx. 3 weeks. They picked up the townhome and kept it on two trucks for 3 days. They loaded the "pods" onto one of the two trucks and delivered everything to me a few days later. Everything seemed to be packed properly with pads, etc. This is what was destroyed..........KITCHEN TABLE (repaired and re-delivered 3 weeks later) 60" PLASMA TV, 55" PLASMA TV STAND, TWO SPEAKER STANDS, TWO PICTURES, This is what was installed incorrectly......SELECT COMFORT BED This is what was missing..........SELECT COMFORT BED REMOTE, LARGE JAR FULL OF COINS (maybe $200 worth) North Texas Van Lines had 90 days to "review" my claim for damage. They honored that 90 days claim and was "pleased to advise" me that after completing their review, they had a "full and final" settlement for me. The check they sent me was for a $5.40. FIVE DOLLARS AND FORTY CENTS!!!!!!!! Avoid this company. Do not use this company. They will gleefully hide behind the minimum required insurance and DESTROY YOUR PROPERTY!!!!!! read more

We moved with this company last year. Overcharged and items missing. Filed a complaint with the better business bureau. We finally received a settlement but was only paid $14.00 on an Ethan Allen chair worth over $300.00, they ruined. Told me they paid on weight of chair. They did not have the trucks promised. If you move with this mover, be prepared to overcharged and keep track of you items. read more
