Tim was great! Called ahead of time and he told me that they had what I needed in stock. Best advice is to call early because the batteries do go quick! The price is cheaper than any place I checked or have been to, so if you're looking to save some $$$, check this place first! Tim was great. He took the battery out and replaced it for me so all I had to do was watch him. They were quick, efficient, and friendly. Can't go wrong with any of that! Plus.. they have a lil pup in there that wants to play ball with you! That dog had some quick reflexes lol. If I have to get another battery, I'll definitely be coming back here. Went to this place about a month ago for a marine battery. Told me they sold the last one. Ok . No problem Left my cores. X2. They took my number down. Never received a call. So two weeks later. Had to come in. Because no call. Only had one battery. Ok. No worries. Call me when you have the other one. Again 3 weeks later still no call. So. Decided to go down. Supposed open till 2pm today. Weird is the word for my experience. Needed a battery for my motorcycle and wanted a decent one, after figuring out Batteries Plus was price gouging (more than 30% above direct from the manufacturer Odyssey) gave these guys a call to see what they have. I was asking about an Odyssey battery, son of the owner (later found that out) said he could get me a Yuasa battery. After a quick check of the dimensions called back and had him order me one. Two days later I call to see if it was there and the owner says it is and he got me a 22 amp one instead of the 17 amp. I did not think much of it at the time. I did think it was odd that Yuasa fitment guide did not mention a 22amp battery being available. I arrive to pick it up and Tim (owner?) greets me. Not that it matters but I will mention it. It's really a warehouse with a desk by the door with batteries displayed on warehouse type racks. This is an industrial type area with a lot of auto wreckers so seems appropriate. Tim was cordial and friendly. Shows me the battery and it's not a Yuasa, it's a much cheaper Chinese battery. I mull it over a bit and decline. Tim's demeanor changed at that point, he was visibly upset and tense. Said its the same thing just a different case. Asked me what the difference was, I said that's Chinese made vs Yuasa made in Taiwan. He thought for a minute and agreed. Then made a comment that he would never order a Yuasa because they cost too much. Not sure how that matter's as I am the one paying. I figured it was time to go at this point. Thanked him for his time and left. Anyhow, I wish this small business the best but Tim needs to understand if you tell someone one thing and set certain expectations, and then change it up when they arrive, the customer might not be amenable to that. I needed a car battery too but we never got that far in the conversation. So he lost out on the sale of two batteries. read more

This place is the best place to do business, honest & efficient. I had a dead battery wasn't sure if it was battery or alternator. They came out test the battery and Alt and it was the battery. I had some deep cycle solar batteries taking up valuable room in the basement... they had to go somewhere. But disposal of 130lb batteries isn't easy. So, I called and had a short chat with Tim. I was told by my vehicle dealership that my battery was getting weak, after they supposedly tested it for an annual inspection. They were going to charge me $326 for a new battery. If you hadn't noticed, car battery prices have gotten pricey! Most will run you $100+ ...but not here. For about $75, you'll get a Delco manufactured battery for even your big-boy Suburban. I thought the $45 reconditioned batteries at Battery Bill were a great deal, but after two of them died within a year, I moved on to North State. Check em out. read more

Tim and Robert are a fantastic father/son duo. They've gotten me batteries for everything from a BMW, Mercedes, Honda and everything my friends and I have brought them. It was a Saturday after 1pm, and I was late leaving to go downtown to Sunh for my sushi grade salmon that I wanted to have for dinner that night. But when I got in the car, it was completely dead! I called my roadside assistance, and they sent someone out asap to give me a jump. While I was waiting for the jump, I called Auto Zone and got a quote for a new battery. But when the person arrived to give me a jump, he recommended I call North State, so I did. Wow, what a difference in price! As soon as my car was running again, I went straight to North State and Tim installed my new battery. The installation was free. North State charged me half what Auto Zone had quoted me, same warranty and everything! And it was so fast that I made it to Sunh and got my salmon before they closed at 3pm! North State beat the next closest price I could find by almost $30 for a battery for my motorcycle and was literally half the price of the motorcycle shop right next to them. They added my battery onto an order and had it in the shop the next day. The staff were great and very friendly. I definitely recommend this place if you need a battery for anything. read more

These guys sold my grandfather a bad battery. They told him it was a new one. He thought he was getting a good deal until he got it home and it was dead. He put it on the charger overnight but it would not hold a charge. He took it to another shop and they told him it was definitely not a new battery. When he took it back to these guys after the weekend to see if he could exchange it or get a refund, they told him to get lost! BTW my grandfather is eighty six years old and a US veteran.
