As luck would have it, taking off my tire and putting on the spare was not as easy of a task as expected and it took almost an hour to accomplish. I rushed to Belle Tire (as fast as a donut could allow) and walked in at 5:40. There were multiple cars in the bays and several customers were waiting. I approached a man I later found out to be Nick Huff, and asked if there was any way he could squeeze me in. At first, he said they couldn't do it, they didn't have time. He asked if I could leave the tire and he would patch it in the morning and I could come pick it up. I understood. But I mentioned that I live 45 minutes away, and it would take much longer on a donut. I said I needed to make a call before agreeing to leave it. But he stopped me and said, "Wait. Let's just get it. I'll do it." He followed me to my car and got the tire. He took out the screw, patched it, aired it up and put it back on my car before re-mounting the spare underneath for me. When I tell you, I almost cried. Twenty minutes later, I was walking out the door to start my 45 min drive back home. No charge. This review is for the tire shop…read more Last week while on route from Chicago to Travers City MI, about a 6 hour trip, we discovered a huge gash in the sidewall of one of our Bridgestone DriveGuard tires, about halfway through the trip. These are run-flat tires designed to be driven up to 50 miles with no air at all. As a result, cars fitted with these tires are not outfitted with spares, nor do they contain spare tire compartments. The problem is, this modal tire is not usually readily available at most tire shops. Because the tires were purchased from Costco, we phoned the nearest Costco warehouse about 42 miles away, in Granger. The technician, Spencer, who may have been the shop's manager, informed us the tires were not in stock, but offered to phone nearby tire shops to locate one. Mind you, the shops he called were not Costco shops- they were independent. About 20 minutes later, Spencer phoned back to inform us they had located and purchased a tire from one such store. The gash in the tire was quite severe so we decided to have it towed by Dustin from Grand Beach Towing (review to follow). The tire was subsequently mounted, and we were on our way. Best yet, because of Costco's Roadside Hazard warranty the tire's cost was about 23% of its full price. I really appreciate the good and hard work Spencer put in to secure a new tire for us. I doubly appreciate Costco's Hazard Warranty. They really are the best.
