I've resided at North Hollow from before the building was completely finished: I cannot in good conscience recommend it. Leasing agent responded to my rental application NOT via email nor phone...but via hookup app! Julian told me the unit for which I'd applied was posted as available by mistake...but that he was "pulling for" me because he "wouldn't mind seeing your face on the regular!" Implying I should have sex with him in order to get the apartment. When I declined, he told me he wanted the unit for himself and delayed my application by two months even through the housing authority had approved it, resulting in six weeks of homelessness! When I finally moved in, the first weekend a tenant hosted a raging party wherein attendees propped the secured front door open with a traffic cone. They smoked cannabis, spilled alcoholic beverages in the lobby and elevators, and threatened me on camera with a glass bottle. Management unapologetically shrugged. The rooftop amenity has remained unlocked for more than seven years against policy despite scores of exhortations in person and in writing. Lightbulbs have been shattered by drunken revelers and furniture has thrice been destroyed. I've multiple times been threatened by tenants who refused to vacate after hours, even being chased up and down the stairwell by a drunken neighbor. Worst of all, I was forced to surrender my psychiatrist-prescribed emotional support animal because she would defecate and urinate nightly, utterly terrified at the sound of dancing and furniture dragging above us at all hours. Her name was Adèle. Fob reader malfunctions. Ground floor mailroom and fitness room windows allow trespasser access if left unattended despite requests to ameliorate. Loading dock windows and fitness room windows smashed on average once per year or so. Car windows twice smashed while parked outside; multiple garage and bike rooms break-ins: lost TWO bicycles! Ana threatened me and overcharged rent for 8 months. Management and maintenance turnover is high: average less than one year. This means an uncaring employee will not last long...however, a caring employee will also not last long. In seven years only two managers have been honest: Stephanie Gonzalez and the current manager, Alayah--she takes security seriously and even accosted me once while entering the garage to verify that I was a resident! I was not offended and even appreciated her precaution: intruders have literally infiltrated the building, prying open interior doors with a crowbar, necessitating astragals on the door jambs. I have personally encountered trespassers sleeping in the stairwell and found foil and toilet paper-- once a trespasser in the generator room pulled a knife on me. read more

We've been living at North Hollow for about two months now and absolutely love it! From the moment we moved in, both Alaya (the building manager) and Erick (our lease consultant) have gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well cared for. They're always friendly, greet us with a smile, and make sure packages are safely delivered to the package room. These are all little things that truly make a difference in day-to-day living. Our one-bedroom apartment is cute and spacious, with a view that overlooks Lincoln High School and the West Hills. Watching kids play sports from our windows is really fun, and the views of the hills are amazing. One of my favorite things is how much natural light the apartment gets--my plants, which struggled in our previous place, are absolutely thriving here! The unit itself is thoughtfully designed and surprisingly quiet, with great soundproofing. While the bedroom doesn't have its own AC unit, the ceiling fan and powerful living room AC easily keep the entire space cool in the summer months. We especially appreciate the in-unit washer and dryer, as well as the overall quality of the appliances and finishes. We toured several other modern apartments in the area with similar features, but North Hollow offered the best value by far. While the neighborhood may not be perfect, we're used to urban living and haven't had any issues. Plus, NW 21st and 23rd (amazing restaurant/bar/shops area) are just a 10-minute walk away. The building itself has a great vibe. There's even a vending machine located near the elevators in the lobby for late-night cravings, and the rooftop regularly hosts fun events and gatherings. One of our favorite experiences so far was hanging out on the roof during a Post Malone concert at Providence Park--we met so many friendly neighbors, including one who offered us free food! Since then, we've continued to meet kind, welcoming residents who always say hello in the elevator. There's a real sense of community here that feels rare and genuine. The only downside we've experienced is the garage parking situation. Since there was only one space available when we moved in, my partner had to leave his car at his parents' house while we wait for a two-car spot to open. Hopefully one becomes available soon! Overall, I'd highly recommend North Hollow, especially to young professionals and anyone who wants to live in a modern, friendly building within walking distance to some of Portland's best neighborhoods. read more

I loved that building when I moved in but during the course of my 17 month stay there were just too many issues. The first 3 months were great, then there was a major break in and so many security issues over the. Next 8- months both with undesirable tenants bringing in homeless and drug addicts. My apartment flooded twice. The lack of respect by tenants - loud parties spilling out into the courtyard at all hours, rude tenants, and guests; people taking their dogs into the courtyard to pee and poop and the list goes on. The area became so sketchy with homeless and drug addicts all around that I literally never left my apartment after dark. Every complex has issues. There is no stellar property management company - they just don't care. All they care about is renting the properties. It constantly smells like garbage in the hallways and animal waste by the front door. Tenants smoking weed in their apartments and/ or smoking in the courtyard- the blatant disregard for the rules was disgusting. Alaya, the most recent property manager made a lot of good strides, but the quality of the tenants just went way downhill, so I left. It was a wonderful place when I first moved in but, a lot of wonderful tenants moved out. Wherever you decide to go make sure you ask if they allow low income tenants, then you can decide if that is the place for you. I didn't ask that question before I moved in and had I known that, I would not have moved there. Ask all the questions, do your due diligence, to make the best decision for you. read more

I don't even know where to begin, so I will start with this: I love being a resident at NH so much, it's prompted me to leave my first ever, Yelp Review. My fiancé moved into North Hollow, officially, December 23th 2021. We had been at our previous residence for nearly 4 years and now with us both working from home, decided we wanted a change. North Hollow was the first complex we viewed, (out of so, so, many in the NW/SW, Pearl, Slabtown, GH areas). We fell in love with practical, non practical living spaces for our family- but our experiences paled in comparison to those we had during our walk through with Jayne, NH Assistant Property Manger. After about 2 weeks of deliberation, we decided NH was a perfect place for our new home. Communication: I cannot emphasize how incredibly pleased we were with the amount of care and prompt communication that was displayed by Anna (Property Manager) and Jayne. This was a large contributing factor as to why we chose NH. The application process to lease signing was entirely seamless. (And completely remote). Area: Goosehollow is perfect. 10 minute walk to Pioneer Square, or NW 23rd! It's so centrally located and walkable to our favorite places in Portland (NW 21st, NW 23rd, Goosehollow Washington Park, Wallace Park, Cycle Dog, etc... ). We're huge Timbers and Thorns supporters (season ticket holders), so only being a three minute walk from the stadium is equally amazing. Complex: Like. It's so pretty. It's so clean, so shiny, and the natural light we get coming into our apartment is something to write home about. Gorgeous Subway Tile Backsplash in the kitchen, incredible hardwood flooring through the entire apartment , beautiful bamboo barn door in the bedroom. New fixtures, stainless steel appliances, huge closet space, I mean the list goes on. You also CANNOT beat the community room, the community room espresso machine, the gym, and the rooftop. The amenities are superb. They also are incredibly focused on keeping everyone safe- so social distancing (in the elevators and such) and masks in the common areas being required- makes me feel like they're doing their due diligence to keep their community safe. Overall: We're so happy with our choice to move to NH. We've been incredibly pleased with how friendly everyone (including the staff) have been to not only us, but also our sweet little Bulldog, Ruth. I've lived here about 4 years now and when I moved in this was a NICE apartment complex. Nice residents, the spaces, the amenities. Unfortunately, in the several months this building has become unsafe. There's a couple on the second floor who's brought in just about every criddler off the street to do drugs with. They say they can't control 'guests' of residents even if those 'guests' force themselves in the building, leave trash/drug paraphernalia everywhere, and wander other floors incoherently babbling. Or maybe you feel unsafe living in the same building as someone who tried to sexually assault a lady while high on drugs... especially when you see them clearly still using drugs. Another resident makes the elevator and any community space they enter smell so bad it's gag worthy. This resident also has guests who force themselves in the building. Coming home at night has become a game of 'am I going to be able to make it inside without someone trying to come in the door with me'. If you're a man, that might be chill. As a woman, these are things I'd want to know before moving somewhere. read more

I love living in North Hollow and taking advantage of living in the middle of Portland close to both downtown, 23rd, pearl, etc. I looked everywhere for an apartment to move into near PSU campus and was lucky to find and qualify for one of the studio units here. Due to me working a per diem job, it was a bit confusing to get qualified, but it was well worth it because the amenities here are amazing. The community room is always clean and we can watch games down on the TV. The rooftop is absolutely stunning and I go up there to read in the summer. The only complaint I would have about my unit specifically is that it's above the trash room so every night at 4AM, the recycling truck comes around and the glass recycling being thrown into the truck took a good solid 4 months to get used to. If you're looking to move in, a unit facing Taylor St. and a big higher up might be a better option! read more

If you like pet droppings in the elevator and hallway, this is the place for you. No sound proofing at all. Very cheap build. This real estate company owns dozens of buildings in other states. They could barely keep a maintenance person on staff and pretty sure Jayne left because it got so bad. Their office was broken into and they stole all the rental checks! We have lived here since opening, it's a great building. Ana and Jayne in management have been great they get back to you in a timely manner and always make sure our maintenance issues were taken care of and put together some great social events. Skip and Carter doing their best to catch up due to Covid restrictions but have been very efficient and timely with our requests. Location of apartment is great it is close to downtown and Pearl district no need for a car everything is in walking distance and transportation is close by. read more

This is a lovely newer large building a few blocks outside of Providence Stadium. Not the best part of Goose Hollow but I guess that is subjective. Spacious studio apartments with washer and dryer and the rooftop deck is one of the best ones I've seen thus far. Also a large gym and open kitchen space for hosting dinner parties etc. Emily the manager was informed and personable, and really made me feel confident living at North Hollow would be a good choice. Sadly there is no resident permit street parking as the area is in an "event zone" and paying for garage parking is not in my budget. If you don't have a car or can swing garage parking, I recommend North Hollow. read more

These apartments are absolutely beautiful. From the moment you walk in you know this is going to be great! Terry was an absolute rock start when it came to showing my partner Krystal & I Apartments based on our needs, budget, and wants. The community room, & roof top deck are absolutely breathtaking. And the building is seriously above Par. The apartment is both spacious, and light. The appliances are all brand new and absolutely beautiful, & let's not forget that there are both ceiling fans, and central heat and air!!!! Yesss North Hollow! Our bathrooms are huge and flow into a jack and Jill closet that flows into our extremely spacious bedroom! But, what sealed the deal, & made us go ahead and decide to call North Hollow her new home was the amazing attitudes of all of the employees there. Both Terry and Julian have gone above and beyond to make sure every aspect of the move went absolutely perfect. And they make sure to give you a huge smile and a hello every time they see you & your pet (they have treats)!!! North Hollow has definitely won us over and I don't think we would be more satisfied any where else. We recommend these apartments to anyone on the market because they truly are steps above the rest! This place looks great, but I already moved out early because there were so many problems with theft and lack of any oversight (people let aggressive dogs run around the halls unleashed, etc). There is a very high turnover of management, and they seem to have no idea of anything going on in the apartment. Note that the positive reviews are from people who moved in when it first opened, and haven't had to deal with the mess the place became once the original management left, etc. read more

I have lived in Nirth Hollow for two years. This is a beautiful building that has responsive management and a great maintenance team. I don't have a car and getting places is oh-so-easy here (we do have an underground secure garage). Management has changed a couple of times and anyone who lives in apartments knows that is a common practice for management companies (don't know why that is) unless the management also owns the property. I have NEVER seen "aggressive dogs" allowed to roam the halls. Dog owners here are conscientious and keep their dogs in check. All of the community areas - rooftop deck, gym, community room, and peace garden are kept immaculate. We have had challenges, especially when we were becoming accustomed to developing safe Covid practices. I would like to see the sidewalk in front washed down more frequently, since we do have a lot of dogs, but frankly, people who don't even live here walk their dogs and use the doggie trash receptacles out front. While I don't own a pet, we are a dog-loving building and keeping the building up must be a challenge. Yet I have found that if I promptly report an issue to management, it is taken care of just as promptly. I just renewed my lease. I expect to be here for a while, because my neighbors are just friendly enough for me not to want to leave. I'm hungrily awaiting the end of Covid so that I can happily WALK to the stadium and resume enjoying Portland's two great professional soccer teams - the Thorns and the Timbers! read more

As a resident, I really love it here! Such an amazing view on the roof, that's definitely what sold me on this place. I get access to an outdoor movie theater, rooftop bbq, and a amazing common/community area! All the leasing agents that I worked with were really nice too. Most of all, my family feels very safe and secure at this location. Only 2 blocks from the train and providence park!!!! I plan to be at this place for a while.
