We are from NW Ohio and each time we visit with my daughter and her family, we undoubtedly will hit the food truck scene at The Bite in Tumalo. We love this location. Usually a very good crowd most any time of the year. Food trucks are varied in menu offerings and the full service bar is an added drawing card for the location. This go-round we chose to dine at North Fresh Suahi. Food quality and presentation were top notch! Staff members working the food truck were helpful in assisting us choosing some tasty treats. I have had some horrible experiences with the staff in the past but decided to give them another shot today. The staff was actually very friendly today! BUT the sushi is definitely low grade and now cut horribly. They are clearly cutting it square to cover the rice to save the ends for their spicy tuna rolls as it no longer resembles the cut, color, or size that you see in previous Yelp photos. The sushi did not taste fresh, and 10$ for 2 very small pieces of tuna I was left disappointed in myself for even trying them again. Any other and all other sushi in Bend is lower prices and fresher fish. There is no making changes to any of their items and 80% of their rolls feature Salmon. Is there truly no way to put Tuna, Yellowfin OR Salmon on top as a option? Two letters (O-R) would open the menu to alot more customers. But if you can't serve good fish what would be the point. read more

I had to stop following this food trucks IG page serval months ago. Such arrogance from the owner that I couldn't handle supporting the food truck any longer. Well, I gave in today on my way back out of town (because I do love the food!) and confirmed my prior feelings with poor, rude, condensending service from the owner. While waiting for my food, the customer behind mentioned his displeasure with the service, but also enjoys the food and has had a good experience with other employees working there so also keeps going back. Poke bowls are nothing special..... especially for $20.... not sure why you would completely soak the acclaimed fresh tuna in sriracha.

The service is the worse, they seem very bothered that you are there. The food ? It's amazing it's probably the best sushi in Central Oregon. That is if you like all your sushi to be very very spicy. That's the first caveat, the second is - the run out of food alllllllllllllllllllll the time. You walk up and wait for the staff to turn around and acknowledge you then they turn right back around and keep working. You wait a little longer and a very upset staff may say nothing at all while they throw the little ordering door wide open. Or a quick "we're out of shrimp, salmon and rice" . It feels like the equivalent of "what you want"! That's the vibe most of the time. To some it up- when they have all the ingredients it's really delicious but it's a coin toss because they always seem to be out of something. The service is rude, not friendly and put out. The times they say nothing at all is maybe the best chance you have and decent service. I'm tired of wasting my time driving done there.
