Arrived on a Sunday for some lunch. It wasn't busy but it wasn't dead either. Store is located in a shared building and easy to locate. I parked across the street behind buildings as the parking up front was full. The sandwiches were amazing! I ordered three sandwiches (make it extra, cheesesteak, and Italian). All were excellent and their sourdough bread was great. They also had clearly Canadian sodas that are so hard to find and they also had cherry yuzu. Have to say this was a great surprise and great meal. Definitely will be back.

Nice little family owned deli in the heart of the old town Auburn area. Everyone was super friendly when we walked in. Order at the counter, and then grab one of the small tables (think there were 3 inside and 1 outside) or sit at the window counter to watch the goings on outside. Our Reuben sandwich was very good. Nice thinly sliced corned beef, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing on a grilled marble rye. Just the way they should be made.... We added a freshly made macaroni salad to finish off our lunch. It was all very good.

I have never eaten here before today. My company catered lunch and we got to select what we wanted. I got the real Italian on gluten free bread and the bread was great! Not the crumbly Udi's bread. All the ingredients were fresh and exactly how I ordered it. I also asked for extra pickles so I got extra on my sandwich and an extra container of them! A restaurant after my own heart! If you're heading eastbound towards Reno or westbound towards Sacramento on I-80, I highly recommend this excellent family-owned and operated sandwich spot. This is none other than "North Fork Deli". Located in the heart of downtown Auburn, this place has been serving up "deli"cious sandwiches, salads, smoothies, and much more dating back to 2018. And since it has that small community feel, the entire staff truly goes above and beyond with each and every customer. As I mentioned, they are located in downtown Auburn on Lincoln Way and just a block from High St (Highway 49). There is no dedicated parking lot but on any given day, there should be quite a bit of available street parking. Since this is a relatively sleepy town with that small town vibe that includes mom-and-pop stores, eateries, and boutiques, everything is a bit more relaxed here. Fortunately, I parked only steps away from the main entrance and proceeded inside during the afternoon of Saturday 9/21/2024 at around 2:00pm. The inside area is quite small and has very limited seating. However, there is also an indoor "courtyard" area (that has other local businesses) with tables that are used for North Fork Deli customers. This is where my lady and I decided to sit to enjoy our lunch. The menu itself is quite extensive as they have many hot & cold sandwich options as well as salads, soups, breakfast items, ice cream, and even craft beer on tap. I decided to go with a sweet roll (full-size) bread w/turkey, salami, cheddar cheese, greens, onions, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, mustard, alfalfa sprouts, and jalapeños. I also paired this up with some kettle chips and canned soft drink. Total price for everything came out to around $22. I will say that the employees worked fast and diligently as our sandwich was brought to our table in less than 5 minutes. And this was during a very busy time of day on a Saturday. As far as the taste of this sandwich, the sweet roll was the real winner as this was super soft and tasted as if it was baked that morning. The veggies, meat, and cheese also tasted fresh and absolutely delicious. I am a picky eater when it comes to sandwiches and I will say that this place is worth checking out. Even Yelp rated it as top places to eat in 2022 while their business is an active member of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. Finally, and what really I really appreciated is that there is an autographed football jersey of San Francisco 49ers hall-of-fame quarterback, Joe Montana. All in all, "North Fork Deli" is as good as it gets to a quality sandwich. This place is arguably the best in Auburn and I will even vote that it is one of the best in all of Placer County (which covers Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Colfax, and many more). They are open 7 days a week (hours can vary) and they also do online ordering through their website, https://northforkdeli.com/. My rating, a unanimous five stars.

Everytime I visit I'm reminded why North Fork Deli is rated so highly. Since my last visit they've done some small renovations to open things up a bit more. Every time I've visited, I've been welcomed right away and the staff is so friendly during the interactions. They have a great selection of cold and hot sandwiches as well as beer options, drinks and chips. On my latest visit I ordered the smaller version of the Italian Melt ($8.49) and it was delicious. The combination of meats, cheese, marinara sauce, onions and pepperoncini was my ideal flavor combination. It was a bit messy, but they gave me extra napkins for that very reason. I was really impressed with their local beer selection and if I wasn't running errands I may have stayed to enjoy one with my sandwich. Parking isn't too hard, unless you're stopping by during the busiest times of the day. It's all street parking and there's plenty of both sides of the street. I'll definitely have this as a regular spot when passing through.

One of The BEST Sandwich places around Sac and Placer County! I've had different sandwiches every time to try something different. It's hard to choose my favorite sandwich. There are delicious! Whatever you select you're going to love it. And maybe the best Clam Chowder I've ever had! I've been to "Fancy" restaurants but never compare to this place. I also tried the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich. So good!

By far the best pastrami I've ever had. Super friendly customer service. I apparently never knew an Italian sub was meant to be eaten cold and asked them to toast it. Even though I was given a strange look, they didn't question it and did it for me. They were super accommodating and the sandwiches were delicious! Would definitely come back again! read more

Was in the area and decided to try this place because of the reviews. Definetly was led in the right direction. I got the turkey bacon sandwich and my wife got the Rye Witch. Both of us loved out sandwiches which were perfect on size, flavors and textures. I also got a side of macaroni salad which was just the best ever. Didnt have any room but the cookies looked amazing as well. Definetly will be coming back soon! read more

It is small but mighty! I visited North Form Deli for the first time and now I will have a hard time visiting other deli's! It's a small deli with not much room for sitting but the food is outstanding. I had the Ruben Pastrami! The flavor was incredible! I turned to the gentleman who made the sandwich and told him it was the best Ruben I've ever had. If you've never been here you have to visit and try the Ruben. Best sandwich I've ever bought! I got the Italian hero recently. It had so much meat in it that I could have made 2 sandwiches out of it! Simply Delicious. The owner also makes FRESH side dishes, potato salad etc. He also bakes HUGE cookies every morning. And they have great ice cold beers on tap too! This place is a real GEM. This place was delicious! I ordered the veggie but wanted some items swapped out (mustard for mayo). It was perfect! Really good food. Tasted very fresh and had my favorites on it. It took Jury Duty in Auburn, but the upside is I was close to the North Fork Deli, and it was worth the wait. The owners lived in New York for sixteen years and brought back some fresh culinary delights to Auburn. Pat Taylor (Everyone knows Pat in Loomis) treated me to a delicious meatball sandwich and he had the Rye "Witch" and he said it was really tasty! What a great way to have lunch on Jury Duty, great food with a great friend. read more

Small deli in downtown Auburn- sandwiches are absolutely incredible! Their Sicilian tuna sandwich is made with yellow fin tuna and capers, so delicious- best tuna sandwich I have had from a deli hands down. My boyfriend had hot pastrami which was super rich and delectable and his daughter had the Italian which she found amazing. Will definitely be back here many times! read more

Picked up some sandwiches here to go for our day of beer tasting & they were spot on. Custom made, fresh ingredients that held up throughout the day. The sliced bread sandwiches were huge and even though I ate mine in 2 sittings, the bread stayed fresh, not soggy. I recommend the "turkey deluxe" that I had. Small place with limited seating- I'll definitely return, but maybe not plan to eat-in unless I time it right. read more

Delicious!! We stopped in our way to Clio, CA and found a very clean and well run establishment. I had the vegetarian sandwich on marble rye bread. The bread was fresh and delicious and all of the produce was crisp, fresh, and tasty. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich which was hot and tasty. This is a very friendly atmosphere! Patrick , the owner, aims to please :) He makes the biggest cookies, I have ever seen! Soups are awesome! Call ahead! Soups served in cooler months. My favorite is, " Chicken Tortillia! " Of course, all the soups are all very delicious! The chilli is served daily! Wow? What a let down. I ordered a Ruben pastrami . THE worst sandwich I ever had! There was barely any pastrami at all? It was all cheeses and thousand island dressing. The rye was soaked in butter and completely soggy!! They charged me $ 12.89 for it! Bring back burney's ! I won't go back again ! Very bad! read more

Really great new cafe in Auburn. Everything we tried was so tasty and fresh. My kids loved their sandwich (Earth Goddess and meat balls hero). We also tried the Buddha Bowl which was SO perfect, had Kombucha and coffee. I highly recommend going there if you are in downtown Auburn. read more

Everything is so fresh and flavorful! I had the Rye 'Wich and I already want a second My grandmother had the hot pastrami and it was sliced thin, and fresh to order! Nash's Kombucha on tap, and with beers too. Jacob's wife makes the breakfast chocolate chip cookie on the block. Keep it up guys read more

My husband & I stopped in for lunch had to try everything! Hands down to the great tasting soup (which my husband had to get one to go also) sandwich's were so big , fresh and delicious! Homemade potato & macaroni salad also great in flavor. Great beer selection on tap and the service was amazing! Atmosphere was great peaceful able to converse with the music at a good level in the background , We will definitely be returning to continue with trying out the rest of the menu! read more

Loved this place so much that I bought it! We will be open for business Thursday 6/13/19. Our hours of operation will be from 10:30 a.m till 5:30 p.m. Will be keeping the most popular sandwiches from previous owner and adding some more excellent offerings, sandwiches, soups, salads and sides. Daily sandwich and soup specials, including BBQ pulled pork, tri tip, hot dogs, Roasted Red Pepper Soup, French Onion Soup and Clam Chowder for a few examples.
