We stopped off for lunch while exploring Auburn on a Friday. The restaurant is large, spacious, & airy with industrial design, but still has warmth from all the wood. Seating is at tables & booths. There are big windows that open garage door-style that let in a lot of light. Multiple TVs played sports. You could easily have very large groups here. We ordered from their lunch specials menu to get slice & drink combos. We got 3 slices of Pepperoni & 1 Caboose. We got an apple juice for the kiddo's drink, which came in a lidded cup. The food was good--crust was soft, the sauce mild & tasty, toppings were flavorful. However, the pepperoni count was drastically inconsistent with one slice having more than double the amount of another. Our server was pleasant, answered our questions, left us with ample napkins, & checked in on us. It all made for an easy, quick, & satisfying meal that was comfortable. I have been here probably 20+ times, between Roseville, Lincoln and the old and new Auburn locations. Wow, what a bad day today. The pizza was cold, the service was 100% absent. We ate only one slice each and yet the server never asked if anything was wrong. In the end, we still tipped and spent over $60 for 1 beer, 1 iced tea and 2 slices of pizza. The left overs were not worth taking home, as the pie was not even fully cooked. After all these years, it makes me wonder if we will go back. Very sad...this has always been a 5.0 for me. read more

I've always been a fan of the Lincoln location, so I was excited to check out this one. This location is much larger and was very convenient while I was in the area. The space feels open and welcoming, and I especially enjoyed the patio seating. It's a great place to relax with friends or family and enjoy a meal outdoors. The customer service was excellent from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. Most importantly, the pizza was just as amazing as I remembered. Fresh ingredients, great flavor, and cooked perfectly. It's nice to know that even at a different location, the quality and consistency are still there. If you're looking for great pizza, a fun atmosphere, and outstanding service, I definitely recommend stopping by. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in the area. read more

I can't say enough about this place! The service was great and friendly. The environment is awesome slightly modern but still very much that old Auburn country feel! Which I love coming back home. Came in town to visit and go for one of my favorite hikes and stopped in for a post workout meal and football! I will be coming here every time I'm in town going forward :-) what more can you ask for great food, great brew selection, and tons of screens with multiple games for the sports fans:) Also big for me is that they had gluten-free pizza dough and for anyone who is more on the health conscious side I found this to be one of the freshest non-greasy pizzas I've ever had in town. Whether you're passing through or staying to visit Auburn, this is a must stop! Pizza is fresh, the toppings are cut in large pieces, the crust is crisp on the outside, soft in the middle. I go to is the build your own pizza with pepperoni, jalapeño, and pineapple. Pineapple will be cut in circles, not cut into tiny pieces. A family favorite is the Docs Chicken it has a white sauce. We also usually order the spinach salad, but the Caesar is good too! They have a wide variety of beer and you can ask for a beer flight too! Once in a while they have Sangria. This pizzeria was once in the lower level of a building, a small cozy spot, but very well known. So well known that lines were always out the door; so they made the decision to move locations and now it is a two-story restaurant with a rooftop area. We've been coming to Old Town Pizza in Auburn every Wednesday night for trivia for quite some time now, and this review is definitely overdue. Every single week, the staff is incredibly friendly and on top of everything. Service is always quick, even when it's busy, and they consistently make the experience feel easy and welcoming. Trivia night is such a highlight for us. It's genuinely fun, well-run, and something we look forward to all week. David and Asia are amazing hosts. They keep the energy up, make it engaging, and you can tell they really care about creating a great experience. One thing that really stood out to me was how responsive management is. I mentioned that the changing table in the women's restroom was broken, and by the time we came back the following week, it had already been replaced. That level of follow-through is rare and really appreciated. We actually drive in from Wheatland every week just to come here, which probably says it all. I sure agree with that, I've been a regular ever since they opened the original one in Old Town Auburn! The crust is amazing, and the fillings are awesome. Really, really good pizza! We got the meat one and it had pepperoni, sausage, and we substituted bacon for salami. The sauce is really good and they don't put a ton. Their crust is amazing!! 5 stars for the ambiance upstairs. It was a really hot day and the upstairs has fans, misters and a nice breeze. There's a second bar, lounge seating and tables. Great drink menu and the bartender made it. The chicken wings were good. The pizza was 2-3 stars, very basic American with a lot of bread. Downstairs is really large, lots of families with kids and bigger parties, very loud. It's not my style of pizza, but I can see why this is an Auburn hangout . read more

To be honest, we loved the down town location, way back when and had yet tried this new location. The upstairs bar is heavenly! Great breeze, being outside, plenty of comfy seating and even hockey playoffs were on- hubby was so happy!! Our server Jaymee was wonderful! Sweet, knowledgeable and the right attention for our Thursday late afternoon out. Wine and beer selection good. Pizza was delicious! Lots to choose from! Our only 'complaint' and this is overstated, is the only music playing was all country. It would have been more enjoyable to hear lots of genres playing, to appeal to all clients. We asked Jaymee about it and in a matter of minutes- new music was playing and this gesture added an exclamation point !! The pizza was really solid (and I say this coming from Oakland / SF, which have really great pizza). Good crust, tasty toppings. We got a Lean Green Pesto Flatbread (minus the chicken), Reset Veggie Flatbread, Pickle Flatbread, spinach salad, and green salad. The Pickle Flatbread was a bit sweeter than I'd like, but tasty with beer. Everything else was great. Love the fact that everything is made from scratch, from the fresh house made mozzarella to the hand-scooped gelato. I love the Gunpowder pizza, which is like an elevated Margherita pizza with a pesto sauce base. OTP is a cute little kick back for all ages, family-friendly, and low-to-average noise which includes rooftop seating overlooking beautiful downtown Auburn. I really want to give kudos to Nan and Cristina. Both times I've been, they were super sweet and helpful when placing our orders and answering questions. The pizza is still awesome as is the customer service. Old Town Pizza is still one of my fave lunch spots. The building is spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. Family friendly. The upstairs outdoor covered patio and bar area has a cool vibe. They offer lunch specials all week long including the weekends. Luv those tasty bargains. The pizza has never disappointed. Be it by the slice or whole pie. The pulled pork sliders and sando are delicious. They have beer and wine options. But on our last visit both of our side salads, that come with the lunch specials, was mostly if not all the hard core of the iceberg lettuce. I don't find that to be particularly tasty or edible.
