My whole family goes to this dentist. The staff are caring and kind. When I went for an appointment…read morerecently, the dentist and dental assistant took their time looking at my teeth. The hygienist was gentle but did an amazing job cleaning my teeth. This is the best dental experience I have had in years. In fact, it is the best experience I have had at a dentist EVER. This would also be a great place for anyone who has any sort of anxiety around the dentist. I had not been in a long time and I was not shamed nor made to feel bad in any way. The staff was friendly and answered any questions I had. Also, the office is very cute and has nice things to look at while your teeth are done (plants, bird feeders outside, posters on ceiling).

The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive without being rushed, and they immediately make you feel at ease. You're offered drinks, and the warm towels for your face are such a small touch that somehow makes a huge difference. The technology here is next level. They use state-of-the-art equipment, including new cleaning machines that basically power-wash your teeth (in the best way possible). It's efficient, comfortable, and honestly impressive. You can tell they invest heavily in keeping the practice modern and patient-focused. What really sets this office apart, though, is the care. Everything is explained clearly and transparently, no pressure, no upselling, just honest recommendations and extremely skilled work. The owner truly goes above and beyond, and you can feel how much pride she takes in her practice and her patients' experience. If you're someone who normally dreads dental visits, this place will completely change your expectations. I actually look forward to coming back, which is something I never thought I'd say about the dentist. Highly, highly recommend.

Beware of incompetent, unprofessional staff and billing errors…read more I went to this office for a cleaning in October 2025 and scheduled a crown for November. Per their policy, I paid a $500 deposit upfront and the remaining balance on the day of the procedure. A few days before Christmas, they began repeatedly calling, emailing, and texting me about a supposed $584 "past due" balance, asking if I had other insurance. Before I even had a chance to respond, they sent a bill. I was then told by their office to call MetLife and ask them to reprocess the claim--something that should never be the patient's responsibility. I did anyway. MetLife confirmed the issue: the dental office had checked the wrong box on the claim, making it appear I had other coverage, which triggered a reversal. I had to explain their own error back to them after being harassed about a balance that was never mine. At no point did the practice acknowledge the mistake or apologize. Instead, the practice manager said she was "frustrated" that I had contacted MetLife--despite their staff directing me to do exactly that--and even claimed MetLife was being dishonest. The incorrect balance still sits on my account with a prompt to pay. They claim they are not actively collecting, but the system will gladly take my money if I choose to pay it. That is unacceptable. Even worse, if this is not resolved, MetLife may deduct this amount from my 2026 benefits--meaning I could lose coverage for care I actually need. I am now overdue for a cleaning and additional dental work, and I no longer feel comfortable returning. The office is aware of this, yet their response has been dismissive at best and hostile at worst. For a practice that advertises itself as the "number one" dentist in Chapel Hill, this experience has been the opposite. Competence, accountability, and basic professionalism matter far more than marketing claims.

He also had his assistant take an impression of the teeth that needed work , remember, he scheduled my appointment during my examination and did not say nothing about down payment or anything. the following week on 12/21/22 I showed up to the appointment one hour early . His assistant was going to take me to the room but wants to check with Dr Villena about the monthly payments . He refused and demanded 1/2 down now . I advised him Thru his assistant that I will make the monthly payments but do not have the 1/2 down today . He refused and I left his office without any work done on my teeth which he knows very well that I needed it . I truly understand that he has a business to run and a family and life style to support, however he should not have, on the day of my procedure , refused to treat me when he and I had the chance to discuss his money requirements on the day he examined me . Now there is a possibility that I will lose the $2K if I do not locate a dentist to help me 5 days before the of the year . In short , I will not ever use Dr Villena , he did not care about his patien's mouth health and his dishonesty as a physician for not discussing his money requirement with me knowing my situation and the facts a shared with him when he scheduled me for my procedure on 12/21/22. This dentist is a shame on the medical community and I do not recommend him . Clay Haddad
