Tom responded quickly, and offered me a few options - rekey the existing hardware, replace the old hardware with the same type of hardware but different locks, or install entirely new hardware. Based on my budget I opted for the rekeying, which he even said "this is the most budget friendly option." I appreciated he didn't upsell me! Today I went to North County Locksmith to have two keys and a key fob made for my 2004 Toyota Sequoia. I brought Tom two blank keys and a fob that I bought on Amazon. However they were not the exact key. The Amazon key was a 4d+ and the original Toyota key was a 4d. As a result the Amazon keys would not work for my Sequoia.
