Daniel was professional, efficient, and friendly! My Rheem water heater was leaking and it was still under product warranty. I reached out to Daniel because his company NorCal Water Heaters was listed as a service provider on Rheem's Pro Partner directory. I called him and left a voicemail about my issue. He called me right back and clearly explained step-by-step on how to do a Rheem water heater warranty swap out at Home Depot. I scheduled an appointment with him the following day. When he saw my water heater, he suggested other parts to upgrade. I also asked if he could add a new sediment trap and he was able to do so. He showed me an estimate for the installation labor and parts before he started work. After the new water heater installation, he pointed out everything he did. I appreciate his great communication.

We hired Daniel to help us install a new Rinnai tankless water heater and the process was pretty smooth. Want to leave this review as an appreciation. Daniel was very approachable, texted him and he was to able to provide a very fair quote based on the pictures I sent him. He showed up on the day as we scheduled, took out the old heater with tank, installed the new tankless water heater, did all the piping, installed the recirculation bypass valve in the master bedroom, cleaned up after himself and even registered the device for us. The plumbing job was done very professionally as far as I can tell and he worked around a couple awkward spots in my garage, please check out the attached pictures. It's been about 2 weeks since the installation, no leakage and we get hot water, I even noticed an improvement on the water flow, I think my old heater was acting as a bottleneck to my entire water line. You might hesitant to hire Daniel since he is pretty much a one man shop, but I can tell that he has the ambition and ability to expand his business and will do the right thing when it comes to hiring and ensuring the quality of his service. I am personally not worried that Daniel will go out of business if that's what you have in mind.

Bradford White 65 gallons HPWH on stand

Daniel of Norcal is a pleasure to work with. He is very skilled in his trade, knows the codes and rebates/credit well, charges reasonably. He is also very responsive on the phone, text and email. Highly recommend. My 19 years old Rheem gas water heater finally gave in and I took the opportunity to upgrade to a more efficient heat pump water heater (HPWH) that's also good for the environment. After I ordered another Rheem HPWH from Home Depot I started to look for installers. (Knowing what I know now, I should have contacted plumbers first.) Daniel from Norcal is one of only four "Pro Plumber" in the bay area listed on Rheem's web site, so he is one of the three plumbers I asked for a quote. While talking with Daniel, I learned that if I get the water heater through him, not only the price will be significantly less (with Golden State $900 rebate) but also the contractor model is more durable. So I decided to refuse delivery on my HD order (which took about two to three weeks to get my money back. ). Daniel is very familiar with all the rebates and credits that's available in my area. The price he quoted was very reasonable and the total project cost after all the rebates and tax credit is less than the cost of the heater itself. He also has an electrician he works with who helps with the electrical part of the work at a reasonable cost. It's not usual to see an electrician using a level all the time and painted the wall with home depot matched paint. The rebate from SVCE covers most of the electrcian's cost. I ended up installed a HPWH from Bradford White, which from my own research and confirmed by Daniel, is of better quality than both Rheem and A O Smith (worst). The installation is divided into two parts, first the electrical work, than the HPWH installation. Daniel also helped with the city permit (at reasonable extra cost) . The only problem during the installation was due to a bad mixing valve, which Daniel came back and replaced in a few days without any interuption in hot water usage. My new water heater passed city inspection without any issue and I have been happily using it exclusively in heat pump mode only. The HPWH generates some noise only when its working, it's not loud, and since it's in the garage, it doesn't bother me at all

Very happy with the heat pump water heater that Daniel installed. He was always very responsive in his communication and did quality work

Endless Hot Water

Fast Response, Professional Service, and Great Customer support. I have a 4-year old Rinnai tankless water heater. It has been running amazingly well until one day it beeped loudly and stopped producing any hot water, which was only appreciated after it's gone (kids complained not being able to shower after sports). I searched online and found a quick solution to reset the unit. However, the issue came back after a few days with the same error code ("Error Code 17", if you are curious). I decided to find a local technician - NorCal Water Heaters was recommended from Rinnai website. Daniel responded quickly and showed up the following day (even though a little late due to traffic). The service was quick and professional - it turned out that a part (Gas valve) needs to be replaced, Daniel ordered it immediately and came back the next day. He also offered a detailed instructions on regular maintenance. It is so good to have reliable instant hot water back, as well as know where to get help whenever it won't.

We really appreciate the thoroughness in explanation and responsiveness of the office. The kinetico system also feels great because it draws no power and we don't have to deal with regeneration interrupting water use every so often. The installation includes a 1-year service warranty, which has proven very helpful. Side note, if you add a mineral cartridge to your RO system and that RO system supplies an existing copper water/ice line to a refrigerator, be sure to have the ice line replaced with polyethylene tubing. If not, the minerals will degrade the copper ice line, resulting in leaks. Many thanks to José for the super job he did capping our old copper ice line and replacing it with under cabinet-mounted polyethylene tubing--works great, can't see the tubing, no leaks! Many thanks to Niko for resolving a problem we had with melted potassium in the reservoir tank for our softening system. Niko was very patient as he explained the problem and showed me step-by-step how to fix the issue myself if it happens again. He also tested the water until the results confirmed that the problem was resolved. Many thanks to Angel for taking service calls cheerfully and with kindness and efficiency. I really appreciate the great service my family has received from De Anza Water Conditioning. I would hire them again without reservation.

After the technician completed the filter service, my water filtration system was not working properly. I contacted the owner expecting them to stand behind their work and help troubleshoot the issue. Instead, without performing an official inspection of the system, I was quickly told that the resin likely needed to be replaced and was quoted approximately $500 for another service visit. My system is only about 5-6 years old, so I was concerned that such an expensive repair was being recommended without properly diagnosing the problem first. We later discovered on our own that the actual issue was that the filtration system settings had not been set correctly after the technicians changed the filters. Once the settings were corrected, the system worked. My biggest concern is the lack of communication and proper troubleshooting. Before recommending a customer spend another $500, especially immediately after your technicians serviced the system, I would expect the company to first verify that the work was completed correctly and that the system settings were properly configured. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

I can't recommend Silk Water enough. Trung (the owner) is a licensed plumber who has the skils to…read moreprobably take on any plumbing job but he decided to focus on wafer softener/filters only. "I don't have a drain", "I don't have a soft water bypass", "Will soft water kill my plants?", "There is no electrical outlet nearby", "Will my water pressure drop?". If you are like me, you will be putting off installing a water softener because you are stressed over these things. My advice after this experience - DON'T. You don't realize how you have "tolerated" hard water until you finally experience soft water. The "feel" (for lack of a more scientific term) is just so different. And Trung will take care of EVERYTHING from start to end, in what is overall a very stress-free experience. He installed a sediment filter, a carbon filter tank, a 46 grain water softener, created soft water bypasses for all of my outdoor irrigation, a bypass for the whole softener/filter system in case anything ever goes wrong with it, and a drain (with p trap and air gap). He had a buddy who helped with installing an electrical outlet (also licensed). I was specifically looking for a softener with a Clack WS2 control valve (reputed to be highly reliable) and Trung supplied that. In fact he supplied everything. He also tested my water hardness to ensure I was asking for the right things. Price, quality of work and timeliness was 11/10 (I will add that his price is substantially fairer than those general plumbers who will quote you 10k off the bat - the audacity!). But here is the differentiator - Trung's sense of accountability. Everytime I requested something, I would apologize... but his response? "No problem it is my job". Wow. Please give your business to Trung. This is a 100% genuine review from a 100% grateful and satisfied customer.

Rating: 4/5 I hired…read morethis company to install a whole-home AFW Filters setup with a stainless-steel pre-filter, dual pressure gauges, a dedicated irrigation bypass, and a 2-inch P-trap with a standpipe tied directly into my crawlspace main drain. They charged me $2,750 for the complete rough-in and installation labor. It has now been a few months since the installation, and most importantly, everything is working exactly as it should. The system holds pressure perfectly, the filtration setup is fully functional, and I have not had any operational issues. My concerns are mainly around the aesthetics and overall finish of the installation, rather than its functionality. The installer originally used steel flex hoses that were not rated for outdoor use, even though my contract specifically called for rigid copper. I had to ask him to come back the following day and replace them. That change appears to have affected the final layout. The main upper copper line is noticeably not level, which also leaves the electronic valve head on top of the filtration tank sitting slightly tilted. Because the stainless-steel pre-filter had originally been positioned for the flexible hose configuration, the switch to rigid copper resulted in several street elbows being used to create an awkward offset rather than repositioning the equipment for a straighter, cleaner run. The soldering could also have been cleaner. There are visible hardened solder drips and excess residue on some of the copper connections. None of this has affected performance, but it does detract from the appearance of what otherwise feels like a premium system. My only remaining question is long-term ease of maintenance. Because of the tight pipe geometry and positioning around the pre-filter, I am not yet sure how convenient it will be to change the filter cartridge or service components when the time comes. I won't really know until I have to do the first cartridge replacement. Overall, though, after several months of use, I am much more comfortable giving the installation 4 out of 5 stars. The system works very well, the price was fair for the overall scope of the project, and I have had no reliability issues. I just wish a little more attention had been given to layout, alignment, solder cleanup, and future serviceability so that the workmanship visually matched the quality of the system itself.
