I've kind of been procrastinating on this review simply because it won't be short! Ha! Initially…read moremy husband had one of those 'Honey Do' lists that included remodeling our front bathroom. C'mon, how difficult can it be? So we do the demo and find old damage to the framing of the shower and dry rot. Okay I agree we need to call in the professionals. We found Premier through the Diamond Certified booklet and gave Richard a call. When I explained what we wanted Richard said could take on the job immediately and he would provide an estimate. I thought the estimate he came back with was high since we had already done all of the demo. Including getting the beast of a tub out. All I wanted was a frame-less shower, tiled walls, floor, and paint. How can that cost so much? But we needed the bathroom done and they could begin immediately. More about that later. Richard promised the job would be done in two weeks which made us happy since we only had one to use and even with only two people it is tough. Richard came by every morning during the project to check on the progress. Federico and Angel were friendly and arrived early each morning and worked late into the day. They were even 'cheerful' while they worked laughing and chatting with each other. No grumpiness here. At the end of each day I took pics and was very impressed with the progress and how it was all coming together just like I imagined. About the finished bathroom. We really could not be happier. The tile work in the shower is impeccable. They tested the water tightness overnight before beginning to even lay down the shower floor. The floor is sloped so the water will drain properly and not puddle. They added a light/fan combination that wasn't there before and moved electrical outlets to accommodate fixtures. I felt really bad for Federico because he had to go into our attic on a very hot day to hook up the exhaust fan which we did not have before. They even had to shave off the bottom of the original door since the tile floor was higher than the old vinyl floor. My only caution to anyone who uses Premier is to get the shower door factored in early in the project. Like day one. It affects everything including tile and paint. Premier does not do the shower doors which requires getting a bid and conversation from a different contractor. We would have definitely made a few different decisions if we'd talked to the glass guy upfront. Getting back to the cost. We did have to pay for the tile and other materials. I will say that based on the level of effort, the quality of the work, and the finished product, that both my husband and I felt like Richard had underbid this project and we ended up with a product that could/should have cost quite a bit more. Am I complaining? No, we just felt like we were committing a crime. We now have a 'showroom' quality bathroom for the cost of a standard bathroom that will last for the life of the home. All on time and on budget! Thank you Federico, Angel, and Richard! I'll be calling for the other bathroom but please underbid that too! =0)

I hired Home Pro's to remodel my 38 years old kitchen. Absolutely great experience! The process was…read morevery smooth, communication was clear and timely, priorities and budget were respected. The end result is a stunning kitchen that met all of my needs and fit the space like a glove. My experience was so great, I have already booked another project with Home Pro's due to begin this spring, 2024. Read on for more detailed review. My goals for this remodel were to raise the ceiling height by getting rid of the fluorescent light box, add additional 20-amp circuits for countertop appliances, increase storage and countertop workspace (both linear and height clearance between upper and lower cabinets), and finally give the room an updated look without compromising flow or the original architectural aesthetics. I also specified that the quality of materials (durability and ease of cleaning) was very important to me. I expect this kitchen to last at the minimum 15-20 years. Jim submitted his design plans for my review, made his recommendations for a cabinet line / company that would meet my expectations (replacement parts and doors available). The design was very thoroughly thought out. Attention was given to things that would have never crossed my mind, such as extra space between corner sink and dishwasher to make loading the dishwasher easier; custom built-in over-the-counter microwave; cabinets where there were none before; extended countertop to add a coffee bar; and a custom table made from the same material as the countertop. Once the design was accepted, I received a contract with detailed cost for all work and materials. This full transparency was very beneficial to me. It helped me make informed decisions when deciding between full quartz backsplash or tile (the full quartz was surprisingly less expensive than the tile I would have chosen). Jim is very considerate of finances, often offering options and choices with money saving advantages. He offered simple work-arounds, suggesting rerouting an air duct instead of repositioning a support beam. This simple work-around saved me $2,000. Communication was very clear throughout the project. Employees and specialty contractors were all licensed professionals. They kept the work area clean, answered questions clearly, and most importantly, provided excellent completed work. I went into the project with a 25% buffer for unexpected expenses, as there are always surprises when you open walls. Fortunately, these were minimal and Jim used cost effective approaches when addressing them. He educated me on the options and let me make the final choices. The entire process was very fluid. There were a few slowdowns, but these were due to the City of Fremont missing inspections, not returning calls or emails, and not picking up the phone at times. Unfortunately, Fremont has suffered with these issues even before COVID, so if you live here be aware of possible delays. I have visited many open houses in my neighborhood to see how other neighbors have remodeled their space over the last 30 years. They ranged from simple facelift approaches to full luxury, and even converting to open concept design. Thankfully, I believe mine is the best kitchen remodel for this floorplan in the development. Nothing looks forced or out of place. Jim's design is impressive and robust. Thoughtful and carefully chosen upgrades made a huge difference. My new kitchen is extremely functional, and has a sophisticated, timeless look.

The contract (Quote #3975 - $150,000) clearly includes upgrading the main residential electrical service to 200 AMP and installing the awning above the ADU access door as part of the project scope. These items were presented in the company's response as if they were additional work, but they appear explicitly in the signed contract. I have also included an email dated Aug 20 from the project manager confirming the project was "on track for completion in 3-4 months." The project ultimately took around 6 months to complete. Additionally, the electrical work referenced in their response included an EV circuit, which is typically required for new construction and ADU projects under the 2022 California Electrical Code. This is a standard code requirement rather than a discretionary upgrade. These screenshots provide context for my experience during the project. Throughout the build I frequently had to verify measurements, coordinate ordering timelines, and raise planning questions that would normally fall under project management. The on-site crew worked hard and treated the property respectfully, and I appreciate their effort. Mark was right on time and ready to go. He explained his process, time lines, showed us pictures of his previous work and gave us some ideas. We had a quote the next day and it was in line or under the other 3 contractors that had provided previous quotes. We signed the bid and we were off and running. It took him about 4 weeks to start but you are going to need that because we had to source all the material like tile, bath tub, toilet, bath fixtures, vanity, mirrors and countertops. Baird does not render designs, but Mark did offer up suggestions and gave all the measurements so we knew how much to buy. We were ready to go when Mark, Edgar and Pablo showed up for demo! The first thing they did was put down floor protection, put up plastic and taped off the vents to the limit the dust during construction. Demo went quick and thankfully there were not too many surprises. Once we were ready for construction Mark went through everything with us again so we were all on the same page before construction started. This is one of Mark and team's strong points. We checked in constantly and they listened to us! We made some last minute changes and guess what...no problems. He made sure we got what we wanted. Edgar and Pablo were true professionals. Edgar was truly a master at laying tile. It was incredible. He drew or chalked out all the patterns prior to laying the tile so that we could see what it was going to look like, measured perfectly, and then laid it down like a master! It took 4-5 weeks to get it all done but it was worth it! What an amazing result. The thing that I appreciated the most was that after a long day of work Edgar and Pablo left the work space and the rest of house as clean as it was when they got there. The last thing that I want to mention was that Mark's bid for the job was accurate. We were lucky that there were not a lot of surprises, but we paid what bid came in at. For me that's a sign that the man really knows this business. I paid in 3 installments and the first one wasn't until demo was done and we settled on our final layout. Easy to understand and appreciate. They expertly tackled a dry rot nightmare on the back of our house - a nightmare which we though had been remedied by another contractor years ago. Turns out that contractor made matter worse. Antone and crew were able to identify the sources of water intrusion - roof, gutter, a rotted window, wood siding, you name it. It took some time chasing down the dry rot, but the end result is that this side of the house looks as good as the time of original construction. The crew was punctual, neat and tidy, coordinated well with other trades, and they were fair in their pricing. All in all, a solid performance. I have referred NS Contractors to a work colleague, and will invites them back to address some fix-it items on the front of the house.
