We had a flood in our master bath on the second level that leaked down to the main living room. Martin at Nor Cal came in and listened to my vision of updating the bathroom since we had to demo the whole bath. He had great ideas and helped me envision the final layout. I started with NorCal on kitchen remodel. The crew did such a great job and the communication was excellent throughout. If there was a problem, they'd fix it. Since then I've used them for a bathroom remodel. I've also called them in an emergency toilet backup (it was bad) and they came by quickly to repair. It was a messy job and they did all the right things to make sure it was sanitary to get back in. Oh, and they got insurance to pay for it! We give NorCal in Livermore a "5". We worked with Tom Foley in the restoration of our home after a fire. We appreciated Tom's expertise, patience and practicality. NorCal helped us work within the parameters of our home insurance, and also guided us through some changes we decided to incorporate. In my mind images will forever linger, images of my daughter's tears over lost treasures. I can still feel the grimy texture of the plastic bags lying in heaps on our kitchen floor full of memories and junk. Non-restorable is the technical term. We were out of our home for seven months, shuffling through mounds of paperwork, memorizing the layout of Home Depot, negotiating priorities as a family, arguing depreciation with our claims adjuster, mourning lost heirlooms, and waiting the long wait for money due. The fire consumed a year of our lives. Having a company at our side that could handle everything from the electrical to plumbing to painting for our 1959 Livermore home was a godsend, and Tom Foley with NorCal was an integral part of that. I hired this company upon the recommendation of my insurance company. I had a 750 sq ft addition done and kitchen and bath remodels. They were less than professional and I have had several issues over the ensuing years such as NO JUNCTION BOXES in my attic for the canned lighting,(thank God we didn't have a fire), NO CLEAN OUTS in the new master bathroom, ROMEX THAT WAS BELOW THE 5' LIMIT left exposed, flooring was to have been blocked per the contract and I found out it was not done, and now I find out during a pest inspection for the sale of my house that they left FORM BOARDS and SCRAP WOOD under my house after they were admonished by the inspector to remove all of the wood and scraps under the house. The boards and scraps had LIVE ACTIVE TERMITES. I asked them to remediate this issue by covering the bill to Take Care Termite of 2335 and they refused to do so and, they told the Contractors License Board they were not willing to mediate. Had they removed all of the wood I would not have had termites. Further, they damaged my custom cabinetry and faucets (they did cover those expenses after I threatened them with the license board). They did fix the clean outs, they paid someone to install junction boxes and they paid someone to block the floor that they were paid to do and failed to do so. You make your decision on using them. I'm just stating my case. read more

I used NorCal Construction for my home remodel. They did an outstanding job. Doug and Michael are on top of their jobs, when I called they answered and addressed any concern or question I had. I always felt like my project was top priority to them! My house was quite a project!!! I started with a cramped, outdated 3 bedroom 2 bath home and ended with a 4 bedroom 2 bath beautiful open floor plan. We took out a load bearing wall to open the space and added 100 square feet to the front room. We did a complete gut and remodel of the kitchen. I had a pipe break in my post tension slab right before our remodel was to begin. I called Doug and someone was out right away and took on the whole project. I needed to have a whole house re-pipe. I also had all of the siding replaced on the exterior due to dry rot. I upgraded my electrical panel and added new outlets inside and outside and had 13 new can lights installed. NorCal took care of every detail from the beginning plans, the permits and inspections. They really did the job right and didn't cut any corners! Every single contractor that worked on my home was on time and showed up everyday, cleaned up each night before they went home and very professional. The workers were also very friendly with my kids that always wanted to watch what they were working on. I have a beautiful, basically brand new home now, I have had many compliments about the quality and beauty of my home. I would never use anyone but NorCal for any future project I may have. Our home had water damage from an upstairs bath and NorCal was referred to me by State Farm Insurance as a preferred company. The damage was extensive upstairs and down in our home.
