She reached out to me via DM and offered to help me with my hair-mergency. I previously went to a salon in Falls Church where my hair was cut unevenly(one side longer than the other/thinner than the other), severely thinned out at the bottom and given choppy "layers"(if you could even call them that. Initially I wasn't able to tell walking out of the salon due to the way the stylist had blew out my hair - it was only when I washed it for the first time that I noticed it. I was too embarrassed to even take photos of my hair and tried to hide it the best I could by curling it again for work. Julie did an amazing job saving what she could of my hair. She evened out the bottom as best as it could be (there is still some thinness/patchiness just due to the previous stylist) but I couldn't be more grateful for her time and work. If you're ever in need of a great service, I highly recommend seeing Julie and taking advantage of her 20+ years of knowledge/experience.

I specifically explained that I wanted to refresh my existing highlights and add lowlights because I wanted my overall color to be darker and more dimensional. I was told lowlights would be added. The end result does look nice, but it is not what I asked for. Instead of lowlights, a toner was used, which actually made my hair lighter rather than darker. I was also charged $285, substantially more than the advertised $169 special. Because the result wasn't what I requested, correcting the color will require another service and additional expense. I reached out to the salon owner directly to explain my concerns and give them an opportunity to address the situation before leaving a review, but I never received a response. I understand that hair color can sometimes have unexpected results, and I would have been very open to working with the salon to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, the combination of paying significantly more than expected, not receiving the color service I had specifically requested, and receiving no response when I reached out has left me disappointed. I'm sharing this review simply so prospective clients know what my experience was like. I have added pictures of the color and tones I requested verses what I got.

I am torn on this one because the person who assisted me strongly felt in their mind that they were…read morereally trying to be helpful. I tried to explain what I wanted and why, and I even showed example pics of what I liked, only to be met with a silent look and a continuation of ignoring my appointment request and trying to talk me into something that I did not want at all. This went on for 20 minutes, and the colorist flat-out refused to listen to what I wanted to get done and instead focused on what they thought I should want, which was NOT at all even close to what I wanted. I quickly noticed that everyone else in the salon was met, seated, and received their services, all with a smile. After having all the other clients watching & listening and feeling completely embarrassed by what was happening with me, I finally caved, but I shouldn't have! Afraid to say much in the way of details, but I do want to tell peeps to most definitely advocate for yourself even if the stylist doesn't agree with you because you are getting your hair done how YOU like it and in a style that makes you feel good, not for them! And trust me, they would most definitely not want you to choose their hairstyle for them, so don't feel bad about standing your ground. I wish I had!!! My hair looks no different, and I truly hate it, and I hate the word hate! I am not happy at all, and I wasted a lot of money! My fight or flight kicked in, and I should have listened to myself and walked out. I had called a few days before on if I needed an appointment or needed to pay for one, they told me I could just walk in and would be serviced. When I walked in they immediately gave me a stank face and told me to sit down, I sat down and a few minutes later I see the stylists talking to each other and looking at me weird. I understand that there was people getting their hair down but every staff was just waiting around doing nothing and non of them came to talk me or told me that it would be my turn soon. I waited 40 minutes when they told me it would only be 15. I left after that. If your planing on going to this hair salon I recommend that you make an appointment and if they treat you bad just leave because I promise it won't get better.
