So I tried HairSocial because I found it on Google and I liked I can book online. My hair appointment consists of the following: Wash, Blow Dry, and an undercut. So I booked 4 days in advance and when I arrived for my appointment I had to wait 20 mins after my actual time (for context it was a Sunday afternoon and no one else was in the shop except for one customer). I have been going to Hannah in the McLean Hair Cuttery for over 10 years and every time I go, I feel like it's better and better. Hannah is a genius at color. She is a true colorist, and has worked miracles with my hair EVERY TIME. Her cuts are perfect, and this time, she actually brought my hair back to it's natural color and it doesn't look like it has been colored (which is what I wanted but didn't think it could be done). On my last visit, I had wanted to go lighter, but my hair grows too fast, so wanted to go back to more of my natural color. She is a miracle worker. My hair looks so natural (without the gray!), it's like I never color it. Her cuts are perfect too. I found Hair Cuttery many years ago, and wondered why I ever went anywhere else. And then I found Hannah, and I'll follow her anywhere! Hair Cuttery is seriously the best place to get hair cuts and color, and trust me, I've been to MANY other places over the years. (I have family members who are stylists, but I'll stick with Hannah and Hair Cuttery!) Thank you for providing such an amazing experience every time I come. I always feel like a new person, but today I feel like the old ME! read more

The hair cut was for my young daughter. I felt that all this stylist(Sylvia) cared about was how much money she could make out. She rushed through the cut to get to an adult client who probably would generate more commission for her. In addition, she refused the 20% coupon(HC insider sale) stating that there needed to be a $23 minimum. I knew she just made it up since there was no such clause but I didn't want to make a scene in front of my kid. It was a very disappointing experience for us. I will not be coming back for myself or for my children. read more

I had to change from my regular hair cutter downtown because of scheduling issues and was nervous about trusting someone new to my short cut. Luckily, I round Lydia at the McLean location and I am so relieved. She listened to what I wanted and checked a few times in the mirror to make sure she wasn't going too short. We're coming in on year 7 since I've started doing balayage on my hair. It's been a journey finding…read morethe right place and the right stylist, especially after moving around so much... but I think it's safe to say after getting treatments in the northeast, in the DMV, and in Asia, I've finally found my place (yay!!!!!) I truly wish I had found this salon when I first moved. I scheduled an appointment with Ellie, and I just had a feeling she knew exactly what to do with my hair with my little guidance: partial, even out tone, and have a balayage that complements my skin tone. She did just that. And in record breaking time of 2.5 hours? I'm usually at the salon for 3+ hours. I'm hypersensitive to smells, so it was really kind that they were able to provide me a mask. They also offered beverages, and I opted for green tea! Lastly one of the coolest things is when they're washing your hair they have a seat recliner so that your legs are relaxed ! I've only seen this in Asia so that was really awesome to have! They had a special for 15% off during the month of October so I was really lucky to receive a good price as well. I highly recommend Salon Virage and Ellie for balayage! They really do it right over here!

He was so kind and the smile on her face after he finished cutting and coloring her hair was worth it. I'm confident she will return to see Fadi. Maybe we chalk the bad first experience up to an off day or a miscommunication with the first stylist? Either way, hats off to Fadi and Sebastian for their service. Extremely Disappointing Experience with Zero Compassion…read more I had a haircut scheduled with Cara at 11:00 AM today. At 7:00 AM that morning, my 3-year-old daughter woke up with a 104.2 fever. Any parent knows that means an immediate call to the pediatrician or urgent care. At 7:15 AM, I emailed the salon explaining the situation and asked if I could please reschedule to next week. Their response was simply that their policy requires charging 50% of the service cost for missed appointments, and that they would "gladly reschedule" once the fee was applied. (see image attached) While I understand that businesses have cancellation policies, this response felt surprisingly rigid given the circumstances. Then, about 20 minutes before the appointment, my daughter began violently vomiting everywhere, making it impossible to bring her with me and confirming that she needed immediate medical care. Despite all this, I still went to the salon briefly to explain the situation in person, hoping that speaking face-to-face might allow for a little understanding and how they should consider extenuating circumstances to retain customers. I explained that my child had a 104 fever and was now vomiting, and asked why there wasn't any flexibility. The front desk called the owner, but instead Cara came out to speak with me. What followed was honestly shocking. Her response was chillingly cold and essentially she said policy is policy over and over. Frankly, it was incredibly weird and off putting. There was no pause, no concern about the situation, no attempt to work with me -- just a flat statement that the charge still applies regardless of the circumstances. Mind you, at that point I was already in the salon, so it wasn't a cancelled appointment at that point. I was seeking non robotic clarification. She said it so many times that I felt pushed out. It was weird and creepy. I fully respect that businesses need cancellation policies. However, the complete lack of empathy or discretion in an obvious medical situation involving a small child was deeply disappointing. Policies matter. But how you treat people when real life happens matters more. If you choose to book here, just be aware that there appears to be no flexibility even for legitimate emergencies.
