I went to Figuroes for a long overdue haircut on my untamable hair with a same day appointment. Gelareh was absolutely amazing. She customized the treatment for my hair to help reduce my natural frizz, did a perfectly even cut (hard to come by) and all with a smile and care. For the rest of my time in northern Virginia I will be visiting her for all of my hair needs. read more

This is a long overdue review of Figuroes Salon. This past year I was in a hair crisis because I lost a previous hairstylist and I stumbled across this salon and so happy that I did! I contacted Gelareh, the owner, the week of Thanksgiving and she was able to fit me in. I had a cut and balayage and she was amazing! I was so happy with the result and her technique, especially the razor cut which I hadn't had done in many years. As I have aged my hair has changed, less body flat and thinned out. Gelareh made it look beautiful! She's also very kind, positive, and invested in her customer. I will be back to see her soon! read more

I have been going to that salon for quite a few years, when I lived in Mc lean and now that I live in Fairfax country. I am quite picky when it comes to my hair . The owner Nader, now ex owner, but still working there , is very talented, very meticulous,, beautiful colors , as mine is, and beautiful hair cuts. Good artistic skills , that can adapt to different needs , and different styles. In addition they have a manicure/ pedicure lady , Lily, that is so skilled, so meticulous, and so attentive to details, and in the private room. she takes her time , to obtain perfect results. Not more expensive than other good salons, but so very worthy. They don't overlook, so you are immediately served. read more

Nader is wonderful. True professional. Stands behind his work. Knows his craft. Reminds me when it's time to come in (I ask him to, he's not a pest). Cuts my teen daughter's hair too. Does great brows. And Lily does very good mani pedis. Also waxing though I haven't tried it. This is the kind of salon I like. Small, professional, stable employees who know you. So it's nice to spend time there. I've found small salons like this everywhere I've lived -LA, NYC, SF Silicon Valley, Bucks County, Newport Beach. So much better than big shops. I don't know what these nasty reviews are all about. I've had my hair done by some top $$$ stylists. I think Nader can do hair. Maybe these are Groupon kooks writing these reviews. Or maybe they're looking for more of a trendy scene. To each his/her own:) read more

I was recommended this salon by a close friend and I was so pleased! Nader is the most amazing stylist I've ever had. His skills are amazing and I'm always so pleased with the results. Nader always has great recommendations (go with his advice, he really knows what will look great on you). He's such a wonderful person and is so welcoming. I highly recommend Nader! read more

DON'T BUY THE GROUPON !!!! Completely unacceptable experience. I arrived at 4:30 pm today for my appointment and it took over an hour and a half for the lady to finish my mani. When she was giving me a mani, she sprayed my nails with hand sanitizer and had me wash my hands with shampoo, in the place where they wash peoples hair. Finally when she started polishing my nails, the nail polish that I chose, from their selection ended up being old. When she was applying it, there where streaks on every nail and she put nail polish all around the outside of my nails. I told her that I didn't look good and she said it would look better when she applied another coat, but it didn't, it looked worst. She had to remove the nail polish and her excuse was there was something wrong with the nail polish. When I choose another color and when she applied the nail polish she put nail polish on my nails and all around the outside of my nails. I told her that there shouldn't be nail polish on the outside of my nails and she said again, it would look better when she applied another coat. When she finally completed my nails there was nail polish all around the outside of my nails and I told her it didn't look good again, she attempted to remove the nail polish from around my nails, but when she finished it still looked the same. She then told me that she didn't have a lot of time and asked if I was ready for a pedicure. I told her that I didn't want a pedicure because my nails didn't look good at all and all I wanted was for it to be done right, professional and clean. She told me it was because she had to apply a lot of acetone to my nails and that's why it looked like that. The manager came over and said he knew nothing about nails, but feels it is a very personal thing so if I wanted a full refund to contact Groupon, and it would be no problem. I told him over all, all I wanted was my nails to be done right and that I have been to a lot of nail salons and the way my nails where done was unprofessional. I told him it took her over an hour and half and that wasn't normal for a mani and how she did my nails was unprofessional. I asked if she was a licensed nail technician and he said yes. Overall - An hour and a half for a mani without any special spa services is not normally by any means. - Having bizarre mani techniques by using hand sanitizer etc etc is unacceptable. - Having old nail polish for a customer to choose from is unacceptable. - Have a non skilled lady (questionable nail technician) doing mani and pedi's and trying to pass it off as a professional done mani and pedi is fraudulent. I 'am requesting a full refund. read more

All 4 of these stars are for Nadar's skills with hair. This place is great for haircuts (at reasonable prices too) and uses/sells excellent hair care products. I've never left disappointed with my hair. That being said, I would not go here for nails. The woman who used to take care of this part of the business has retired and they haven't been able to find anyone adequate since. read more

Super!! Nadar is the best!! So warm and caring for all his customers. He also is a real pro at his craft!!

How would you like to have a personal hair dresser that will call you to remind you about your appointment; arrange his schedule around yours; stay late or open at 6 am to take care of your hair? I don't know where you can get that kind of service anywhere; anymore these day. You have that at Figuroes with Nader. I think he shouln't accept any of those cheapskate GROUPON so called customers if you ask me, GO TO HAIRCUTTERY. They don't know how to value a hard working genuine professional hairdresser. read more

I recently purchased the groupon and made an appointment with Nadar. I thought it was a good deal: $65 for full color, haircut and protein treatment. Right? WRONG. I made this profile just to say HOW BAD FIGUROES SALON IS! Let me describe my experience and you can decide for yourself. I walked in on time and the front desk associate had me sit and wait in a very small waiting area squeezed in right by the front door. After 10-15minutes, I finally met Nadar. He took me to a chair and I showed him a picture of the color I wanted my hair to be dyed. I had brown hair with dark blonde ombre at the bottom. I wanted to work to get close to a honey blonde. He took one look and said there was no way we could dye it that color, didn't even offer to bleach it, and said we could only dye it the same color as my ombre so basically all my hair would look like straw. I accepted it and went ahead. Well, as with dying virgin roots from brown to blonde, my roots turned bright orange. After one of Nadar's many assistants washed my hair (it is only him in the salon with 5 assistant) he blew it dry and HATED it. I didn't hate it...he did! It was a darkish gray blonde. I was okay with that because it was a good base for honey highlights that I could do later. Well, HE decided to dye it brown, and then put in highlights since he was unhappy. I obliged knowing I would pay $30 more. An assistant dyed it, another washed it, and then I went through EXCRUCIATING pain enduring an assistant blow drying it. She was so mean and didn't understand how much my hair had been through and that it hurt! I eventually just said ITS FINE-leave it! Then Nadar put on the highlights...silly me, I thought if I ask for thick and thin highlights that it would add more depth and all over blonde. NOPE! He put HUGE chunks in my hair NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE ROOTS! He did it so fast and I didn't understand why he was impatient because I didn't even ask for the change. Needless to say, the end result was awful. Had to endure another painful blow dry, saw how much my highlights looks grown out, and planned never to return. Two weeks later I got highlights somewhere else to fix this mess but it is still awful looking... I WILL NEVER RETURN. You all were warned.... read more

Exceptional cut and color!!! I have been a customer for over ten years, and have NEVER been disappointed! I called this week, at the last minute to get an appointment for a full cut, color and highlight. I had a wedding to attend on Saturday. Nader came in at 5:45 a.m. to accommodate me. He had a cup of coffee waiting! There is a sincere focus on customer service and customer satisfaction. My college aged children will drive home just for an appointment with him. Nader is a true professional! I am always getting complements on my hair. I was being wheeled into surgery, and my doctor commented," beautiful highlights, where do you get your hair done?" Seriously!!! I trust Nader to do a perfect job every time. He has always met my expectations, and then some. He does an excellent job with eyebrow shaping and makeup as well. Don't overlook this gem because of a few Groupon groupies! read more

Nader and his staff do an outstanding job. Nader has been cutting and coloring my hair for more than 20 years. He also colors and waxes my eyebrows (as well as lip and chin waxes). He is flexible, skillful and fantastic to work with. Lily, who currently provides manicures and pedicures, is awesome as well. I am always happy with the truly fantastic care they provide! read more

This salon is stellar! I found this "best kept secret" a few years ago through Groupon. What a pleasant surprise! Their work is only surpassed by their professionalism. Nader intuitively understands my hair and my face and brings out the best of my natural beauty through color, highlights and eyebrow waxing. He takes care of both my teenagers, boy and girl! He gives great grooming device that my son actually listens to! read more

I used a groupon for a manicure and pedicure just to save $ from my normal place ($35 a pop) and boy was this a disappointment. The woman who does nails did such a poor job it looked like a 5 year old had done it. The top coat was a brand I purchased myself from CVS, she had to completely redo the fingernails- no hand massage, terrible shaping, no cuticle cutting. She did such a poor job, when it came time for the pedicure I refused to let her cut the nails. I asked her just to apply nail polish. Upon inspection outdoors, I could see that she painted my toes as much as my toe nails. She at one point said - what do you expect - it's a groupon. I normally charge $60. She implied that since I was just paying $29 I was going to get less than normal. I can't imagine anyone paying her $60 ever! read more
