We got off on a rocky start, but they did finally come through for us…read more While visiting my disabled sister-in-law in Sacramento, we discovered she had a rodent problem. We solicited help on Yelp from a few pest control companies and Advanced said they could get her house treated that same day. This worked out well because the next day we were leaving to drive home to WA. We spoke to a salesman, Dru, and got the service call scheduled for the same day. She set up a quarterly recurring service and provided her payment information. The technician was supposed to arrive that afternoon before 7PM. We waited all afternoon and he never showed up. I called the office and was told he had called in sick, so they would have to reschedule for the next day. This was very frustrating because we were leaving the next morning and wanted to be there when the technician arrived since my sister-in-law is uncomfortable with letting strangers into her home. I soon got a call back from Dru who apologized for the mixup and said he would credit her the cost of the first treatment and have the tech out the next day. We scheduled so that he would arrive during the time her caregiver would be there. We spoke to my sister-in-law the next day and she confirmed he arrived and took care of the treatment. However, a week later her caregiver trapped three rodents on a sticky trap and tossed them in the trash. We advised her to call them back to do another treatment and looks for new signs of rodents, as well as to see if they could tell how they were getting inside. I reached out to the company and she had not contacted them (she's elderly and disabled so I'm not surprised). I got a response within a few minutes. They arranged for the office to schedule a follow-up visit to get the rodent situation under control and try to find out how they are getting inside. Now we are hoping this rodent problem gets resolved! They also treat for insects so hopefully she no longer be getting bugged by uninvited visitors!

Recent home buyer in the Sacramento area who had their inspection done by them and now has mud…read moretubes in my house indicative of termite infestation. They also offered a 50% off for inspection and future treatments. First red flag: when I asked the person on the front desk if I should scrape / clean part of the mud tubes, she said yes. Just make sure to take a picture of it. When most suggestions say not to do this. I asked for a WDO- wood destroying organism inspection of the whole house, which is also outlined on the email and was quoted for. When the inspector came by, he literally only looked at the area of the mud tubes, asked to go outside (I have a crawl space) and already diagnosed the problem. His name is Derek Mills and he has 18 years of experience and does not seem to really care about the condition of your house. I literally asked him if he was supposed to look at the interior of the house, and he said "no", and explained he didn't need to. When I called another company for a WDO inspection, they had told me they are supposed to look under the crawl space and spend a minimum 1 hour on the inspection. Derek was there for less than 15 minutes. There was no follow up of when he was going to go back. No email. I sent an email and called, and did not receive a single phone call. Please, do not waste your time and effort with this company for inspection or treatment. Especially if you care about the management of your home. They are poor communicators, with inspectors that do not care about the condition of your house. At least, for branch 2/3 termite control.

Cute but pesky squirrels built a nest at the top of the tall column on my front porch using…read moreshredded cedar from my garden. Then they started gnawing through stucco and into the substructure. I tried various humane ways to get rid of them, from squirts from my hose to my impersonation of a wild predator, which amused my neighbor but wasn't effective. Finally I called Good Life. The technician they dispatched cleared out the nest and repaired the damaged stucco. He did an awesome job matching the existing stucco color. Then he applied a pest solution he called "hot foot" which apparently squirrels hate. It worked. The squirrels haven't been back. As an added bonus, the technician changed the second story light bulbs above my porch that required a super long ladder and some risky, heart stopping maneuvering near the top rung. He fearlessly accomplished the task for which I truly grateful. He installed LED lights with a 40-year lifespan so they should outlast me. Thank you, Good Life. Great work!
