I belong to their "Shamrock Club" where you pay a set fee each year and receive a maintenance inspection on your air conditioner in the spring, and on your furnace in the fall. Whenever I have called for an appointment, they have been scheduling about six weeks out. This would be O.K. except that they have almost always called a day or two ahead of my appointment to say they have a technician out and could we reschedule. They then give me an appointment in another four or six weeks. Another real annoyance for me is their policy of giving a six-hour window for their appointments. I prefer afternoons, so this means I need to be available from noon until 6:00 p.m.! I recently contacted another company and they gave me a two-hour window for an appointment two weeks from the day I called. They also charged about $100 less than Gallagher's for a maintenance contract. Finally, since I decided not to have Gallagher's do the fall inspection on my furnace this year, I asked them for a partial refund of my Shamrock Club membership fee. They refused. So goodbye Gallaghers.

The owner Danny is an amazing human.... kind, patient, knowledgeable, honest and very experienced in this business. I am grateful I was referred to him. Finally 7 months later we have functioning and efficient ducts! Backstory: I chose another company to replace our old ductwork from the 1950s based on their reviews, plus they were servicing our HVAC for a few years. They even replaced our heat pump unit 3 years ago in this very home so I thought I'd stick with them. They also came in way lower compared to other bids. I didn't realize ductwork replacement is completely different than a technician servicing or installing a new unit. After the duct install I realized our home was not cooling the way it used to. We had to use portable air-conditioning units ALL summer because something was off. I called the company back multiple times and several of their technicians could not diagnose what was wrong. Even the owner and senior manager came out and they said only one of the ducts needed to be attached better but even after doing that one adjustment nothing improved. Their HERS guy dropped by and said the registers were all blowing air fine. After the company abandoned me since they couldn't figure out the problem I called Hoyt to do an audit because I KNEW something was terribly wrong. They created a 15-page report showing over 50 code violations, it was crazy! No wonder our home wasn't working the same way, even when we had ancient ducts! I called the City of Sacramento after I TOLD the other company to apply for a permit since they never did (which they agreed to). I then showed the City the audit report and they said it would never pass a HERS test. They sent the installer the correction notice but I knew I didn't want them stepping foot back in here. I also dealt with the Contractor State Licensing Board and was able to get a partial refund after much negotiation with the installer. I then hired Hoyt right away to redo the entire project. Here we are 7 months later and we now have brand new functioning ductwork in our home that feels and LOOKS amazing, thanks to ductwork that is installed like a textbook. Thank you Robert, Dyas and Danny for an outstanding job! I will be referring everyone I know to your business. PS - I've included a mix of photos of the before and after. It's hard to illustrate how wonderful the improvements are.

Unfortunately, I had a previous vendor simply top off the condenser and had the gall to tell me that it would last a few days till he got the part to stop the leak. I paid hundreds of dollars to get the refrigerant filled, only to wait for the part then refill it again and pay hundreds of dollars more! So, I went on a search for a new HVAC vendor and I solicited 12 vendors on Yelp as I had good prospects in the past using their platform. About half said they were unable to service, and the rest required a diagnostic fee the highest of which was quoted at $600 that amounted to filling the condenser with die, waiting a few weeks, then coming back to verify the leaks! A nitrogen test would tell you on the spot if you had leaks. Fortunately, I found Air Plus and conversed with Mel, the owner, and he was very responsive, asked the right questions and would do a site visit without a fee. He came the next day and evaluated the condenser, and I pointed out where the last vendor failed. He was able to provide a solution which I agreed with and got to work with his great crew and was able to fix the problem in just over an hour! What he charged me was totally fair and Air Plus is now my go to for all HVAC installs, repairs and maintenance. I highly recommend them more as they should be your go to for any HVAC needs!

I Yelped the company and there was notany reviews which honestly made me nervous. I had other inquires reach back out shortly after who had more reviews but the quantity doesn't necessarily mean quality is better. I agreed and they came the very next day. They were quick to diagnose the issues and gave me honest straight up answers. They called and got the part warranty for me something I would of probably lagged on doing. Once they got the part they came ASAP. Besides saving me a fortune I was surprised on the professionalism and awareness of his crew. This may not seem like a big deal to some but for me it showed character and class. I was not home at the time of installment only my daughter was. I was running late to get out of the office and his crew showed up expecting me. My daughter was there so I had her go to the door and let them know to go ahead and start since I wouldn't be home for another 45min. They said that it was okay and would go back and wait in the truck till I arrived. I know it may seem weird but to me that was very respectful of them. Weather your looking out for yourself it's a smart move now and days. Anyways two days later I saw them at my neighbors house lol. I was hoping to just get it serviced, but because of the age and the freon it used, I was informed that they no longer carry that freon due to it was no longer produced and that I might find a company that has it. Found one that was able to give me 2 more years and very much appreciated the honesty the A COOL AIR gave. November 2025 it was time to change it out. Made the appointment, received the estimate after inspection, was informed of the rebates both for SMUD as well as Federal Tax Credits and gave the go ahead. They had it installed in 2 days' time, and let me tell you, this new system? Makes me come to terms that I never really had a real one to begin with!!! I was given options to which one would work best for my unit (I live in a condo) and wasn't swayed one way or the other. Chose one, and I am SO THANKFUL I did! These few days in the 90's so far have given comfortable and cool air throughout my home and including my bedroom which never cooled off or heated up to the rest of the house. No one had opened the system until we removed the putty keeping it closed last week. The tech just kept saying the unit was installed properly, but could not explain why condensate was leaking out of the rear of the system. If this is not an installation issue, you would think the tech would be able to tell me what is wrong with the unit itself. No investigation was performed. They know it's wrong and are deflecting to avoid liability. Was supposed to evaluate what was wrong with our HVAC that they installed. But the tech said it was installed properly. Even though water is leaking out the back of the unit. And refused to actually evaluate anything. At least he didn't make us pay the service fee. Would be zero stars if I could. Also kept yelling at my husband and talking over him while we were trying to explain what has been happening. This is how villara treats people who buy a home where they were the installer.
