Long gone are his days of working in this area. But lo and behold, our hockey superstar son is now playing rep games at Westwood-- a stones throw away from Golden Asian. Anyone who has a kid in select knows the chaos of weekend hockey games. Last thing you want to do is prepare dinner after getting back downtown from an evening game (which you MAY or may not have lost :/) Anyways, my husband remembered Golden Asian so we ordered from the parking lot around 4:30pm this evening. 15 mins later, everything was ready for pickup and we were surprised at the amount of food we got for less than $80 cash. This easily would have cost 100+ downtown. Everything was still hot and fresh after the 45 min drive home and the whole family was satisfied. Good portions for the money. My fav's were the squid and crispy beef. Kids loved the noodles and beef and broccoli. Overall, 10/10 recommend and will definitely be back again for take-out on the regular during this hockey season.

The menu leans Korean fusion and nothing feels forced or overdone. I tried them during Winterlicious and it was such a good intro to what they do. Standouts for me: Braised short rib was unreal. Super tender, rich, and easily the best dish of the night K Pasta was so unique. Packed with flavour and not something you come across often Kalbi striploin burger was juicy, flavourful, and done right Cocktails were strong and easy to sip. They disappeared way too fast, which says a lot. Overall, great execution, a menu that stands out, and a space that feels sexy but still cozy. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

The tuna and salmon tasted very fresh, and the sweet-spicy Korean-style sauce made the whole dish feel bright, refreshing, and really appetizing. I also loved the potato dumplings.. crisp on the outside, but soft and pleasantly chewy inside, with a very smooth texture. The arugula salad was a great complement and added a nice fresh balance to the meal. The real standout for me, though, was the kalbi. It was incredibly tender and full of rich flavor. It almost melted in the mouth, with that satisfying buttery, savory richness that meat lovers would definitely appreciate. The cocktails were also fun and well done. I tried a few, and all of them were enjoyable. Some even had a smoky presentation, which made the experience feel a little more special. The service was another strong point. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the dinner feel smooth from start to finish. Everything came out at a comfortable pace, and the overall hospitality really added to the experience. As for the ambience, it felt stylish, intimate, and a little moody in a good way. The lighting and presentation gave the dinner a polished feel, but it was still relaxed enough to enjoy comfortably. It's the kind of place that works well for a casual date night, drinks with friends, or simply a nice evening out.

This is the American-Japanese izakaya at its most considered: a place where the concept feels genuinely inhabited rather than merely adopted. The room is intimate and unhurried, possessed of the kind of mood lighting that flatters both the food and the conversation. The atmosphere skews decidedly hipster in the best sense -- effortlessly cool without tipping into affectation. Noise levels remain convivial rather than oppressive, making it well-suited to a romantic evening or an occasion where one actually wishes to be heard. The menu is deliberately compact, a restraint that signals focus. Signatures such as the Dyno Wings, Salmon Aburi, and Hamachi Tartare reveal a kitchen fluent in the language of Japanese flavour while unafraid to let an American sensibility -- bold, satisfying, approachable -- guide the hand. Small plates arrive with the casual ease of izakaya tradition, inviting grazing and sharing in equal measure. The bar program is a particular strength; the cocktails are handled with genuine care and merit serious attention. Service carries the warmth and easy charisma of a neighbourhood spot that has long since found its footing. The staff possess a breezy, unforced personality -- refreshingly unpretentious, and all the more welcoming for it. For those seeking a date-night destination that trades in atmosphere without sacrificing substance, Hanmoto remains one of Toronto's more quietly brilliant propositions.

I found it funny cause almost every item has the "favourite" symbol but everything tastes good! I love the decor inside. Lots of lights, florals and greenery. There is limited seating though since it gets busy - Maybe 10 tables of 4 on the outside perimeter and another 5 tables of 4 on the inside. We got the razor clams, 12 wings and beer special (after 8:30pm), smoked beet and pig ear salad, brisket and ribs and bun bo hue. The 12 wings and beer would have been such a good deal except the drink was pretty watered down. We brought it up to the waitress so hopefully they change that in the future. The wings were crispy,m and delicious. The razor clams tasted good too, but it only comes with 4. The smoked beet and pig eat salad was one of our favourites! Unique, flavourful and good crunchy textured. The brisket and ribs were another favourite. Tender and flavourful. The bun bo hue was good too. Service could have been better. One of the waiters wasn't that friendly. We still had a good time though and enjoyed the food. I would come back to try their other dishes.
