Thinking I had avoided the lunch rush around 2:30p, there was still a 40 minute queue as Noodle Inn does not take reservations. Due to the social media success, the line is long, but the person handling the line is efficient. In fact, my party of two were seated with another couple at a table of 4 to turn tables quicker. When eating abroad, I find this to be a common practice. As for the food, here's what I ordered:
Signature Oil Spill Biang Biang Noodles with Braised Beef Rib - the noodles were stuck together during the cooking process or folded in on itself making for thicker noodles in some parts and thinner in others, the braised beef rib was tender
Deep Fried Tofu with Salt and Pepper Powder - nicely fried
Cucumber Salad - good flavor, but the cucumber was too smashed and had small bits to pick up with a chopstick
Pan-Fried Dumplings with Minced Pork and Chinese Cabbage - disappointing in that there were hard bits in the dough making me think that these are not freshly made.
While the noodles were handmade, the lack of care in cooking the noodles and the poor quality of dumplings were disappointing. read more
