Sat outside so can't speak much on ambiance. As for service the person sitting people was quite kind and assured me he'd get me seated asap. Once I was seated, I ordered their pork burger and steamed and pork dumplings. Food came out quickly. I enjoyed the dumplings, soft wrapping and flavorful filling though not my favorite. The pork burger was super unique as a dish. It's true pulled pork with an Asian twist and cumin flavoring. The bread is similar to a bao and I didn't enjoy the pairing together if I'm being honest. Service wise I asked for water at one point and didn't get it lol. I don't know if it's because I was a solo diner because this happened yesterday too Overall decent food but I was expecting more given the price- maybe I ordered the wrong dishes and could be willing to give it another shot if that's the case.
I finally got to try Master Wei which was featured on Chef Table. The reality didn't match the high expectations that I had. We ordered lots of different dishes. From their specialty Hand-pulled Noodles to the hard-to-find Cloud Ear Fungus dish, I was left a little disappointed. The hand-made noodles were good and fresh but were served lukewarm or cold with too much chili oil. The portions were very small but pricey. The staff and service were lacking attentiveness. At least I can now checked the box for dining at one of the featured Chef Table restaurants and not buy into the marketing or hypes of these television shows.
Xi'An hand pulled noodles in London? Passed by on Wednesday at 7pm, and line out the door, with all outdoor tables filled on a brisk wet night. Came back Friday at 4:55pm, and place is almost empty, but with most indoor tables having reserved signs. They seat us at a tiny two-person table, next to the drafty door, so bring your heavy coat. One party of four came in at 5:15pm, and were given a reserved table, on the condition of being finished by 6:30pm. We ordered #43 12.90 GBP bone in chicken with hand pulled noodles, and #49 13.90 GBP special lamb with hand pulled noodles. All restaurant meals in the UK come with 20% VAT built into the price. This place adds a 10% service charge to the food price. Large serving size with a mound of noodles with meat in a moat of oily sauce. The noodles live up to the hype: large foot long noodles, freshly made, thick and flavorful. Pieces of meat, with wood mushrooms, potatoes, green and red bell peppers. The thick hand pulled noodles are chewy tender but not overcooked, absolutely delicious. Some negatives: chunks of chicken chopped by cleaver with sharp bones inside, along with fat and skin. The traditional Chinese way to remove the bones is with your teeth, although I do it by hand. Portion sizes of noodles and especially lamb on the small side -they have thin slices of lamb, and not ground lamb, a good thing. They use potatoes as a filler in place of noodles. Low quality chairs similar to what you would find at a bingo table. Learned not to drink the oily juice on the plate, so oily, probably flammable and not allowed on an airplane. Cold and windy tonight so nobody eating outdoors. Going to be a long line to eat indoors. Eating the long noodles leaves our faces splattered with bits of oily juice. Get plenty of napkins, and don't wear white clothes. Wife had to wash her white sweater after eating here.
Master Wei was featured in a Netflix master chef series as one of the top noodle chefs in the world. So I was eager to check it out when I was in London. Unfortunately, it was quite a letdown. The pork in the biang biang noodles was hard and dry. The sauce was overly salty and lacked any specific flavors other than the soy sauce. The mince pork noodles were also quite salty. The tofu skin also was void of flavor and dunked in a very thin sauce. The Xi'an hand shredded chicken was the only dish that thought was really ok. Perhaps Londoners have different standards for Chinese food than us in L.A.; but, frankly, any random Xi'an noodle place I've tried in L.A. would be better.
Easily one of the best dishes I had while in London. The Tulip drink was a refreshing non-alcoholic drink with lychee in it (sometimes we need balance in our lives, can't drink alcohol all the time). But the star of the meal was the Pork BiangBiang. The handmade noodles were perfectly cooked, the chili oil covered everything and had the perfect kick, and the pork was tender and juicy. The particular night that I went was super busy because as it turns out, they were recently featured on Chefs Table! And after trying it, I can see why!
Lots of outdoor tables available, set up in the very cute alley outside the restaurant. Love the ambiance. Service is fast and they turn over tables quickly. This is a good sign. They are efficient and delicious. If you don't know Chinese, do your research on Yelp ahead of time, because the English translations are not very descriptive and there are pictures, but it's not clear which menu item they correspond to. It's not that the dishes aren't authentic (they very much are), it's just that you won't know what you are ordering if you rely on the English and pictures. We ordered two dishes: 43. Chicken Hand-Pulled Noodles in Xinjiang style - 新疆大盘鸡面 48. Xi'an special lamb hand-pulled fried noodles - 西安特色羊肉炒面 Would highly recommend both of these dishes. They are spicy! And authentic. They accidentally gave us 49. Xi'an special lamb hand-pulled noodles -- 西安特色羊肉拌面 and they did not look nearly as tasty as what we had actually ordered, #48. It was some sauce on top of boiled noodles. Things I'd like to try: 1. Boneless Chicken in Ginger sauce 姜汁豉油 2. Hand-shredded Chicken in Special Spicy sauce 西安手撕鸡 In conclusion, this restaurant is worth an express trip.
Got food as takeout and it did not disappoint. The sauce comes separate as to ensure freshness of the dish, which I appreciated. Did wait quite a bit for my food. But the restaurant is clearly well-loved. Staff is swift. Cucumber salad was crunchy and the spices were all on point. I'd recommend! They do not take Amex.
We came here for lunch on a cold December day. They were busy and sitting the outdoor patio, surprisingly it wasn't too bad eating outside even with our coats on - was very concerned about spilling chilli oil on myself - which I did! Thankfully it washed out! Service was pretty poor. They were more concerned about cleaning tables and sitting people. We ordered beers with our meal and I think they forgot about them, we didn't get them until we got our mains and we asked twice for them, my husband was ready to walk out as we had ordered and got nothing. Our starter came out and then our main two minutes later. They really need to work on all this. Terrible order of service. The food was really good though. We had the salt and pepper pork - delicious. Then we both had different variations of their hand pulled noodles - very difficult to eat with chopsticks on their patio seating but still enjoyable. Patio was tiny though, seats too close together, other groups would have to stand up to let others out while eating - not fun to do.
I've been dreaming of coming here to eat since I watched Noodles on Netflix. I fell in love with Wei & her story - her determination as a young girl to provide for her family. We have been in Europe for 2 weeks now and this is the !! to our fantastic food journey (including a Viking River cruise). The food exceeded my expectations!!
I'm so happy that there's a solid biang biang noodle restaurant here in London! The liang pi was some of the best I ever had. Drinks were yummy too. The biang biang noodles were satisfying, although portions are smaller than we expected. While I do think the quality of the noodles and veggies were great, there's something about the attentiveness to customers they sets it apart from 5 star. We were constantly thirsty because the paomo was saltier than we were used to, but we had to ask for water multiple times. I don't blame them, it's a popular spot and there were MANY tables to deal with. I would suggest a self serve water dispenser or a pitcher for every table.

3.5 stars Grabbed takeout from Master Wei Xi'An. I got the beef noodles and the pork burger. Once I picked it up I made the short walk (literally right around the corner) back to my hotel, so everything was still warm and nowhere near soggy from sitting in a to-go container too long. The pork burger was the winner here. It had good flavor and held up well for takeout. The beef noodles were solid but not quite as good. The beef itself was a bit dry, which took away from what should've been a juicier, more satisfying bite. Xi'an cuisine is known for its hand-pulled noodles and bold, spicy flavors, so I was hoping for a bit more richness on the beef component specifically. Overall, a decent quick bite. I'd go back and order the pork burger again, though I might branch out to something other than the beef noodles next time. read more
Casual and authentic. The original biang biang noodles were amazing. Make sure you mix it well as the sauce is on the bottom. Has a wonderful heat that's not too spicy. Visiting London from nyc and came here with my daughter 3x in 4 days as our hotel is a short walk away. Highly recommend for a delicious bowl of noodles. Service is fast and efficient and no fuss. read more

Best meal we had in all of London, including compared to Michelin starred restaurants! Absolutely delicious and authentic Xi'an cuisine tucked away from the tourist traps. If you know, you know ... and will be back again and again for the hand pulled and hand sliced noodles. read more

I watched a Netflix episode featuring noodles and was inspired to try this restaurant. It lived up to the hype. The hand pulled noodles were amazing. I had a beef noodle dish. It didn't look like anything spectacular but once it was all mixed up it was great. read more

Came on a Saturday night and even with the line we only had to wait about 30-45 min. I forget the name of what my friend got but it was amazing. The sauce was perfection. My plate of sweet and sour chicken and rice, were just what'd you'd expect. Good and a classic. Good vibes. Happy with my experience read more

This place is delicious. The noodles have a wonderful texture and the cucumbers are to die for. We couldn't eat it fast enough. If you eat outside, you risk breathing in the cigarette smoke of the people next door. Other than that this place is amazing (& busy!). read more

Amazing find in London near the British museum- authentic Xi An food and executed really well. Pretty busy for weekday lunch but we were seated immediately and service was efficient. Food came out really fast and everything tasted fresh. Xi an liang pi (凉皮) was so refreshing and savory. It had the right amount of spice and tangy bite, a perfect appetizer. The pig ears were crunchy and I liked the addition of cucumbers- a very generous serving. Hand pulled noodles with pork in soup was also great- salty with perfectly cooked noodles. Got some garlicky stir fried veggies as well and they were fresh and crunchy. Entire meal was less than £50, great value in the city. Awesome place for Chinese food! read more
Ordered takeaway from here and the food was great! Definitely authentic Chinese food! The food was flavorful and had the right balance of noodles to other stuff ratio. Will definitely be ordering again, especially their hand pulled noodles! read more

We arrived for dinner shortly after 6 without a reservation. There were seats available but quickly filling up. I've walked by the previous night and the place gets packed. I suggest to either come early or make a reservation. The staff is nicer than you'll get in NYC so that's a plus. The waiter that gets us spoke English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. That was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the cold chicken in ginger sauce, the spicy cucumber salad, the salt and pepper spare ribs, and the pork biang biang noodles with egg and tomatoes. The cold chicken is a must. It's a generous portion of chicken in a delicious and flavorful sauce. Pro tip: you may want to order some white rice to go with it. The cucumber salad was nice as well and quite refreshing. The spare ribs were only okay in my opinion. I would not order it again. The noodles were quite delicious as well. They had a vinegar tang to them that made you want more. The pricing was reasonable and the service was good. The only comment is that they tried to ask for additional tip which isn't something that's done here. There was already a 12% gratuity included so I thought it was a bit sneaky asking for me. That said, I would come back again. read more

I am very impressed by this restaurant. Authentic Xi'An style dishes that have the right level of heat and flavour to make a memorable meal. There are so many dishes to choose from but we finally settled on the yummy dumplings which comes with a beautiful dipping sauce. Perfectly cooked! The beef burgers were tasty, a little spice goes a long way and the bread was minimal. Spicy cucumber salad was delicious and refreshing. My favourite was the beef noodles with bok choy. Hand pulled noodles were long but not starchy, absolutely delicious in the slightly spicy sauce. I'll definitely be back to try their cold noodles and other yummy dishes soon. read more
Good chinese dishes. Personally, love the thin wide noodles so much. This is definitely a try in london. Go come here if you are craving for noodles and chinese food. Totally recommended and makes me wanna go back. Personally, i love the service too since the waiters are very polite and very helpful. read more

Having traveled to Xi'An, I was interested to see how good master Wei is. SO lunch one Sunday. It is good and highly authentic. If you like noodles (Biang Biang and lingpia)and dumplings ( pork and chive and vegetable) this is the place to go. The meats are also good with beef and pigs eat prepared like a brawn. Spicy but not overpowering. Cumin beef also good. Wood ear mushroom good also. read more
Master Wei Xi'an is another one of my regular spots in London. It's fairly close to uni so I take the occasional lunch break there. Their noodles are always perfectly cooked and I love the spiciness of the biang biang noodles. The tomato and egg noodle soup is another solid dish. I also quite like the Chinese burgers and their dumplings. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything is pretty darn solid so its worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood.. read more
