I mean you walk into this place and your expectations are not set too high, so the food was pretty much to be expected. I gave this place 2 stars because the while the food wasn't awful, it went right through my entire table (ladies and gentlemen there are only two bathrooms in this place, I recommend only bringing one other person so you don't have to fight to the death for a bathroom). They also tried to charge me for soda water. Maybe it's just me, but I thought this was crazy. We ordered Vietnamese soup I guess it's suppose to be Pho... but broth tasted like it was made from one of those packets you find in instant ramen yucky and super salty. Also, we found the whole onion in one small bowl of soup. What was good and tasted normal was rice noodles and brisket. Meatballs tasted like one of frozen Ikea Swedish meatballs. I ordered a Thai iced tea and it was so overwhelmingly sweet that I couldn't even finish it. As for the food, i ordered a Wun Sen Noodle Soup, and at first it tasted okay (I was so hungry that anything would've tasted good), but the flavors got old quickly. The service was okay. I'd never eaten here before and went off a recommendation from a friend. I was able to taste the curry beef spring rolls, volcano Lava Roll, and crunch Grouper, all good and I would recommend. I would not recommend this location for a group larger than 4. We went on a week night around 7:20pm and it was still hard to get service consistently. We had one table of 4 and another of 3 (kids had to come, so sat at another table away from adults) and there was maybe one or two other tables, so not sure as to why it took multiple request to get items. I really can't say enough about how good this place is. I shovel the food in my pie hole every time I eat here. I literally scare people or at the very least make them look at me funny or with concern in their face. Really not happy with the result after calling and telling them the order was made wrong. We order from work it's a big order it should have been one shrimp fried rice not spicy and the other 5 spicy. Nope it was other way around nobody had spicy rice except the one that didn't want it. So the solution was bring in back that day which was yesterday or today. Now idk about nobody else my job gives a 30 min lunch we already pushing it to come get the food and come back m try m eat. This is one of the few restaurants that I frequent a lot. Everyone time I go I either get the spicy ramen with the Thai fries or the basil noodle with tofu and eggs added in and my Thai fries . And both dishes are super delicious and the Thai fries are addicting. Definitely worth a visit read more

I went to Noodle for the first time yesterday with my son and some other moms and their kids. We were greeted pretty quickly and the server took the order for the kids first to get them ready and satisfied early on. That was nice. They have a $5 bento box for kids with your choice of protein, rice or noodles, a choice of veggie and teriyaki sauce. For my 2 year old, it was a ton of food and for a 5 year old, it was satisfying. It was actually what I should've gotten because it seemed very filling. I ordered the Vietnamese soup bowl. It was similar to pho but not quite the same as I've had in Vietnamese restaurants. It came out piping hot and the portion was huge. I enjoyed it, but would like to try something else another time. Service became a little shoddy after a while and we had to wait long periods of time to get napkins, refills or the check. It wasn't bad, but not necessarily great. My initial reactions from eating at Noodle: I'm confused. I'm a little hurt (why? why would someone serve this?). I'm also hungry because I just couldn't bring myself to eat enough of the food to stay full. As far as over-generalized, Americanized Asian food goes, Tin Drum is enough. It's the line. You get the most popular dishes, devoid of too much spice or weirdness while still maintaining a faint semblance of the heritage of the food. This should be the limit for Americanized Asian food. SHOULD. Whoever created Noodle clearly thought that Tin Drum was the SHIT, but that it needed MORE creativity. This person was probably not from any of the cultures whose cuisine they sought to bastardize, because the dishes on Noodle's menu are freaking weird (in a bad way). Someone familiar with the dishes and flavors would never actually think combining them like Noodle does would be good. Maybe, just maybe, there's someone out there with the vision and execution to do it right, but it's probably an Iron Chef competitor, and it is definitely. NOT. Noodle. Before I gross you out about the food, a brief description of the establishment: Ambience isn't bad. The patio is actually pretty nice, so on a late summer night it was perfect to chill outside. Noise from the street isn't too bad either. I particularly liked the tall bench/booth things. Most of the patrons were families with kids and dates. Interestingly, Noodle seems also to be staffed only by college girls. I did not see a single staff member that did not fit the 18-24 year-old female demographic. Our waitress *was* cute and sweet, but it was still weird. Having worked as a server before my impression is that there is a probably a creepy manager back there, only hiring eye candy. I ordered the "Panang Beef Noodle Soup", and regretted it as soon as the waitress placed it in front of me. Whoever created the dish thought that Pho and Panang Curry should go together- because that's exactly what it was. Watery, coconut-based broth, with oily panang curry rising to the top. A giant knot of tiny glass noodles sat in the middle, with some mushrooms and thin slices of brisket or something tangled inside. It didn't taste awful, BUT it's how I would feel about having made an experiment like that AT HOME. "Mixing Pho and Panang Curry probably isn't a winning idea, but I just want to see....Hmmm, not bad. Edible." At a restaurant? No. Gross. GTFO. Seriously, how are they ok with serving stuff like that? My boyfriend ordered the Yellow Curry Noodle and it came out already looking like 3 day old leftovers, heated up in the microwave. I literally asked him, "Wtf did you order?" because it looked so disgusting, like a bizarre rendition of cafeteria-style spaghetti with unidentifiable vegetables, all mixed together in a giant vat with orange-brown sauce. Probably the most unappetizing thing I've ever seen ordered at a restaurant. Neither of us could finish, but my boyfriend hates letting food go to waste so much, that he had to get a to-go box. Let me just preface this by saying that he will eat almost ANY TYPE of leftover, in almost any state of questionable freshness, yet he threw the leftover Yellow Curry Noodle away the next day. It was a line even he couldn't cross. Out of the whole experience I have to say that the food came out quick. Not a good sign for a restaurant... but at least we didn't have to wait long on that disgustingness. Despite the food's quality and construction, and the fact that we didn't really eat it, it's funny to look back on now. That someone actually thought it would be a good idea, and then SERVED IT. I got a coupon in the mail for one free noodle bowl with the purchase of a noodle bowl, so I decided that I needed to give Noodle a shot. Who doesn't like a steaming hot bowl of noodles? Talk about comfort food! The meal started out with some extremely watered-down Thai Ice Tea. I was so excited to see how large the glass was, since you don't get free refills. But after giving it a good stir, I was sorely disappointed to taste...well, not much of anything. It was a big glass of water with just a hint of Thai Ice Tea flavor. Bummer. Fortunately, my comically gigantic bowl of Udon Miso Tofu Soup was quite a bit more tasty. Still not as flavorful as most miso soups I've sampled elsewhere, but the tofu was great and I liked the veggies and the big udon noodles. Yum! And there was SO much in the bowl that I have an entire meal worth of leftovers....maybe even two! Service was rather slow, and we didn't know that you can park in the deck across the street so we ended up parking a ways away at a parking meter...but this was an okay place for a nice big bowl 'o noodles. read more

Don't you love how weddings bring you to parts of the country you wouldn't have visited otherwise? This weekend I find myself in Decatur, GA. And last night I found myself drunk, with a capital D after a rehearsal dinner, a pit stop for shots, and more beer at Taco Mac - a pub with a name which only foreshadows physical pain of some sort the following day. So, of course, this morning, I found myself hungover and in a rush to make my 12:45pm nail appointment. I hadn't eaten all morning and here it was 12:30pm! I have 15 mins to not only find food that hits the H-spot and caffeine, but gobble it down without vomiting, and I needed it 2 hours ago. I stroll into Noodle, just across from Viet Traditional Nails, and explain my dilemna to the host. He kindly, dry humoredly, and with an impressive amount of eye contact, informs me if I order off the "noodle" menu it will be 2 mins, so long as I can decide quickly. He joked about decisions taking the most time, almost as if he knew me intimately. I'm a libra and I don't make decisions easily. How did he know? Even though he was, he wasn't joking when he said 2 mins. Literally, 5 minutes later I had my beverage, a glass of water, and my noodle bowl. That tasty well-groomed Thai Peanut Noodle bowl who shook hands firmly with my disheveled messy hangover and quickly they became friends. A special bravo to the presentation of my green tea. To my surprise, not only was it served with honey and a lemon wedge, with no time wasted in asking for the proper accoutrements, but the cute little box enveloping my tea bag, was so entertaining, that I pocketed it for the ride home. A special thank you to the host today, who got me to my appointment on time, calmed my nerves, and provided an attentivenes which only leaves a woman wondering if she inspired a crush and leaving the restaurant feeling sexier than when she walked in. read more

This place is very dissapointing. Full disclosure, we have lived in the area for more than 15 years and have been coming to Noodle on and off since shortly after they opened. My guess is that the business may have been sold within the last couple of years. The overall quality and perceived care for how the food is prepared has declined significantly. The cook (I intentionaly did not use the word chef) put very little effort into preparing our dinner tonight. Everything was very bland. The chicken in my daughter's bento box and my wife's rice bowl was clearly frozen and reheated in the microwave. The texture was very chewy. How difficult is it to grill a marinated/seasoned chicken breast? I have a gluten allergy. The menu states gluten-free menu available. I requested one, only to be told there is no gluten-free menu and that they basically have 4 Gf things on the menu. I ordered one which was a gluten-free noodle soup, with tofu. It was incredibly bland so I asked our waiter if they had any gluten free soy sauce or seasoning I could add to it, and they brought me Siracha. I had to add 3 spoonfuls before it was worth eating. Note, I work in the area and come here for lunch sometimes and order a very similar menu item which is much better (perhaps someone else prepared it), so I was very surprised it was so bland. Lastly, the service was very mediocre. After the waiter brought our food, he dissapeared (in all fairness we were seated outside). After waiting for a while for him to return, I had to have the hostess find him. When he showed up, instead of asking what we needed he asked "what's up?" which is simply very unprofessional. Unless significant improvements are made, we won't be back. There are too many places close by that are simply much better, where the ownership and employees seem to care much more about the customer's experience. read more

In the same vein as Doc Chey and Thai Bowl, this is a fusion rice-bowl/noodle bowl joint... and the base flavour of this joint isn't entirely obvious to me. I'm glad that there are people who like this place a lot -- I can't recommend it though. I've yet to happily finish a meal here, try as I might! Rifling through the other reviews of Noodle, it seems that most people enjoy it for its apparent relative health value... Perhaps. I think you'd be better off tossing a salad. For me, 10 bucks for a rice bowl seems a bit steep -- especially when I lose my appetite mid-way through. I'm trying to find something redeeming to say -- and failing. Two out of five. read more

Given the option of fast food or Noodle, it's a hands down no brainer. Not only is the food delicious, it's a relaxing place to have a quick lunch and be back to work without feeling like your arteries are clogging before sunset. I doubt it's ever taken more than 8-10 minutes to be served after ordering, even when the whole office goes to lunch together. I also get a kick out of the fact that even when you order the 8 Vegetable Dish, you can still add meat (or tofu). All in all, a wonderful healthy option in a sea of cholesterol when it comes to eating on a short timeline. Great food, realistic prices, fast service, walking distance from the office. So, here's the thing. I've eaten here about a dozen times with the express intent of trying new items on the menu and having different experiences so I can write an honest and helpful review. While the food here is good, it's not great. It's not amazing. It's not authentic. It's good - don't get me wrong, but I'm not blown away. I like to be blown away. I've tried about half the menu at this point and haven't found anything bad. I actually really enjoy the Sweet and Tangy Chicken over Soba Noodles (instead of rice). Also, I usually have adequate service. Again, not even really 'good' service, but simply adequate. However - this is all overshadowed by my most recent AND LAST visit. I fully believe that our waiter was inhibited by some sort of drug, simply because he could not follow five word sentence. We came in on a slow Tuesday night. We were seated immediately in the nearly empty restaurant. And it was 37 minutes before anyone approached us for a drink order. It took 20 more minutes to get us both glasses of WATER. We already knew what we wanted to order at that point, but it was another 20 minutes before the waiter came and took our order. It took what was probably an appropriate amount of time, but felt like forever, for our food to come out. Once it did, the waiter looked me in the eyes and asked if he could get me anything. I said, "Yes; can I get chopsticks?" He says sure, walks away and ... never came back. Never. I wasn't being picky or anything. There wasn't a fork or spoon on the table for me to use instead. I had no eating utensils at all. I sat there for 10 minutes, waiting for that jerk to bring me something to eat my noodles with - and that jerk just paced all over the restaurant, talking to other customers at the bar and other servers. I finally stole a clean fork from a nearby empty table. I had to ask the hostess to bring me a to-go box for the remainder of my food - because I was so disgusted with the lack of service that I couldn't stand to eat much at all. We left cash on the table and walked out, because who knew how long it could have been before we saw a check. We'd already been there for about an hour and forty-five minutes. If it were not for the propriety of my ever-so-demure husband, I would have walked out after the first 30 minutes of not getting any service. I would have perhaps not paid, but instead left a strongly worded note warning against the consequences of coming to work stoned to the point of not being able to string two words together coherently. But no. We sat. We waited. We were quiet. We didn't put up a fuss. We were patient. We were polite. We ate. We paid. We left. AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK. read more

Not too shabby, Noodle... I've been here loads over the last month since they keep doing coupon deals, and I've been pretty happy with the result each time. I remember when they first opened when I was in High School, probably half my high school worked there at one point or another, but I'd never been in because I never bothered to check the prices and I assumed they were higher. Maybe they changed their pricing structure, or maybe it's because I keep finding myself in a wealth of Noodle coupons, but it's not nearly as expensive as I thought! Maybe it's because I've been in so frequently for one reason or another, but I've not had an experience yet that would keep me from going back. Maybe a waiter who was a little spacey, but I try not to hold personality against someone if it's not just flat out nasty, and his spaciness wasn't prohibitive of me eating so it's all good from where I stand! I've had the dumplings and rolls appetizers, shrimp basil rolls, edamame, cream cheese won tons (umm, what? who came up with THIS genius idea?), calamari, and several of their noodle bowls and MAN I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it! If you want it spicy, say the word and they'll make it so spicy you can hardly eat it (which, yes, is the way I like it) or they'll tone it down and keep it simple. The other great thing, I think, is that the portions are big enough that I can eat some and have leftovers for lunch the next day! Now that the Scoutmob is over for the one in Decatur, I'd suggest trying it out-- they got a little overwhelmed and that probably contributed to the service problems other folks have mentioned. Super delicious & lots of vegan options. My favorites are the vegetable dumplings(potstickers), spring rolls, any of the entrees with tofu, and the tofu miso ramen soup. The service is pretty okay, nothing special. The food is always made quickly & seasoned very well. Also, super great price point. I usually don't like sweet potato fries, but the ones here are delicious. There Re so many options and they make menu accommodations if you ask. I was here last night and received terrible service. Jamarcus B. and I came in close to closing time and was met by a rude hostess asking if we were planning to take out. We asked to sit outside and the rude hostess also happened to be our server. She was very dry and did not seem happy to be there. If the staff wants to leave as soon as the restaurant closes, they should stop taking customers at a certain time each night. Customer service is important to me and it was really lacking by the entire staff last night. The food was descent and I was happy to get a Scout Mob deal. I'll preface this place with this: I hate Doc Chey's. Sloppy, over-sauced noodles = not my thing. "But Blake, Doc Chey's is a franchise! These guys are the little people, out on their own, making for themselves a new path in this world." WRONG. This is like Doc Chey's, but with a little less creativity. At least Doc Chey's tried when naming their restaurant. And, really, Asian Fusion? Lumping this in with the genre of Asian Fusion is like lumping Daniel Radcliffe in with Sexy Actors. It's not only an affront to the entire genre, but should only make sense to kids-who-don't-know-better. Okay, so the food. I got, Lo Mein. I tried the Shrimp Udon as well. Both were pretty... whatever. A step above those places you'd find in a mall food court, you know, nicer dishes and all. I nuked my dish with Siracha sauce, gave it... flavor. Soup was adequately, whatever. Just like those places in the mall, the first little bit, the smell and taste, gets you. "Man, this is going to be good," grumbles your hungry tummy. Then a few bites in you realize... you were just hungry. Pros: The tofu was good, not too soggy but not too stiff. The servers were sweet, a bit slow, but nice nonetheless. Cons: The food. I've been to the midtown location and have always had a good experience there. I've never actually had ramen before and maybe there are better places for it in the city. I had the spicy beef ramyum soup - it was incredible. I wanted to become Japanese so bad after this. I'm regretting the past 30 years when I have NOT had ramen. It had all the tastes that any human could want. I instantly thought of a 5 star yelp review. Finally, the service at the Decatur location has had some not so great reviews but our server was excellent. Very nice, food came on time, and very attentive. O Scout Mob, how delicious you make the food look in your pretty pictures. Had dinner with a friend at Noodle because I like a good deal and a good meal and Scout Mob was promising one. For starters, they were out of a LOT of liquor. We ordered three drinks off their menu before they found one they could make because they were out of everything. We split an appetizer platter, which was fine but nothing special. Per the suggestion of the waitress, I ordered the green curry. It was bland and lumpy and gross. They boxed it up for me to take home and I left it there--it wasn't worth eating once, let alone twice. The weirdest thing about this place is it can't seem to decide what it is. Is it Thai? I went back recently with a friend since we were already in the area and didn't want to drive anywhere to get dinner. I had not been in many years and was surprised they were still open. They'e remodeled since and the interior is pretty cute for a casual place. The service wasn't bad. Nothing spectacular, but nothing less than what I expected. I can't really say I quite appreciate their interpretation for Asian food. It isn't that I don't like fusion places, but this isn't executed well. If you're going to put a spin on the food, at least make it interesting so that I have a reason for not eating the real thing. Food: I asked for less sauce on my Lenny noodles, and it came drenched in the stuff. My friend ordered the Pho. I noticed how she pushed around her food pretending to like it. Part of me wants to give them a 3 because it isn't so horrible. Still, can I remotely recommend it? No. Skip this and get the real stuff for less. Asian Fusion apparently means, "we really don't know how to make the items on the menu so we decided to put a cool sounding word behind the 'style' of food and sell it to wannabe trendy Atlantans." That pretty much describes Noodle. It's ok, if your stuck and there really isn't any other food you can deal with. It's kind of neat to eat outside on the corner there, but the service was poor and the food bland. Portions are large and as the user garbanzo states, it's better than Mama Fu's. As it should be. It's more expensive and isn't franchised. There's almost no seating inside and out of the four of us, one person had cold noodles. I did not have a "drink" but one of my guests said that the drinks was ok/good. All in all, good place to say you were there, but not place to get your "noodle" on. 3/12/2010 - Went here again with a friend and had the spring rolls. I thought I was going to get a great deal when it said 3 for $5. The small rolls were the equivalent to 1.5 rolls. Kind of a bummer. read more

Very good food and very good service. I've been eating at Noodle for many years and have seen the menu change quite a few times but good food remains constant. The veggie steamed dumplings are a favorite. They no longer carry one of my favorite beers - New Belgium Mothership Wit, but do carry Hitachino Nest which make a terrific ginger beer. Recently (the last two times we've been there), I've noticed a significant increase in the cost for dinner. I know the beer is not cheap ($8 each), and food costs are up every where, they just seem to be going up higher versus other restaurants I frequent. read more

A friend of mine is from Decatur and told me to try Noodle. She said some fantastic things about the place, but since I'm not a huge fan of Asian-Fusion cuisine, I stayed away from it. However, my boyfriend and I were feeling under the weather and we wanted some hot noodle soup. We knew Buford Highway has some of the greatest noodle shops, but we didn't want to drive too far away since we were sick. So we decided to give Noodle a try. It was fairly late at night, so the parking wasn't too crazy. Despite the hour, the restaurant was pretty packed. Once we were seated, the waitress recommended some of her favorite dishes and we ordered Jung Bong Spicy Seafood Broth and Tofu Curry Noodle Soup. I really liked my Tofu Curry Noodle Soup, except it was way too spicy for me. But if you like Thai curry dishes, aka coconut curry, I would strongly recommend this dish. Noodle's food only wins two stars from me. It is pretty good, but it doesn't have that special charm to bring me back here again. However, what makes this place fantastic and better than other Asian-Fusion restaurant is their incredible service. About 5 minutes after ordering, our food was on our table, ready to be devoured. I also liked how they have some healthy options. Their food is generally greasy, but it's not overpowering. Also, you can substitute Green Tea Noodles to any of the noodle dishes, and brown rice for any rice dishes. I have yet to try it, but I would love to someday. read more
