I've been coming to this location since college and have always loved the food here. This was probably the first time I've been less than pleased the service and the food. We were greeted by the bartender who told us to take a seat wherever we liked and that our server would be with us shortly. Yeah. She was not in a very good mood to deal with people. After about six minutes, she walked up to the table and said "so what do you want to drink?" and it was at that point I knew I had turn my patience level up to a 10 to get through. It wasn't super busy but it took her almost 10 mins to get our drinks and finally she asked wanted, I decided to step out of my normal lo mein situation and got the happy family rice entree. It came with mixed veggies, brown rice, brown sauce, shrimp, chicken, scallops, beef, and needless to say it was delicious (aside from the rice being a little over cooked). After the waitress brought out our food, my friend realized hers was wrong and trying to get the girl to come back to our table was an act of congress. Finally, I took matters into my own hands and asked for another waiter. His name was Ryan and he was awesome. Stopped in for a bite to eat before treating my sis to spa treatment. Noodle has an extensive menu that did not disappoint. We each ordered tea. It came in cute pots that have between 3-4 cups worth. The pomegranate ginger tea wasn't as "gingery" as I was hoping but it was good. For lunch she had the salmon teriyaki and I ordered the Thai sweet potato fries and a shrimp crunch roll. 4 Stars. Everything was tasty and filling. The salmon teriyaki was large and enough for leftovers. The service was also 4 Stars. We were greeted immediately upon entering. Our waiter was attentive and helped us decide on meals. The restaurant seems like a popular lunch spot as many people dropped in during our visit and based on the food & service I understand why. Went here for take out. The Paid Thai was awful. The noodles were thick and adhered together as though they'd been cooked in glue. Not sure how Pad Thai ends up being dry, but this dish was dry and sticky. The noodles were like beef stroganoff noodles. I also ordered this tea that was being advertised and it too was gross. Noodle is a "pan-Asian" style place at the corner of Church street and E Ponce. The food's not amazing but it's good. It's a good choice if you're with a group because they have a decently sized patio. We started with the steamed veggie dumplings and they could have been better. I'm not sure if the wrapper was too thick or if they didn't cook long enough but the dumplings were gummy. The filling was good though so get them fried. For my entree i had the Bulgogi Bop. I was happy with it, but I'd probably try a different entree if I come back. The food here felt like nothing was bad, but nothing was amazing either. Staff and service was great. I cannot speak more highly about Noodle. It is delicious and no matter what you order on the menu, you get a lot of good food! I am quite a regular here and have ordered a little bit of everything. My favorite is their famous fried rice with kimchi and tofu. It's not too spicy but has the good veggies like zucchini in it! Then, I typically get some sushi. The rainbow roll is my go to, but if you are looking for something more adventurous, the sunshine roll is delicious and kind of like a sandwich. If you like sashimi or ngiri, this is the place to go! I was unfortunately disappointed. I ordered the Phuket Woon Sen. it was nothing like it used to be. It was now a semi dry dish without the sauce I dearly loved. The veggies were not as fresh and crisp and the chicken was overcooked and rubbery, cut in a manor of frozen square strips. One piece was so grisly that I couldn't even chew it. I have ordered delivery through Grubhub from this restaurant at least 30 times in the last two years. Traditionally, they started out very efficient. The last two times they have messed my order up even though it was extremely clear. I called back and asked to speak to a manager. A gentleman by the name of James said he was the manager. I explain to him what happened and all he could say was what do I want him to do about it. Well I want you to actually act like yours sorry that this happened. He then proceeded to blame it on the driver, that driver must've taken it because he is sure that they fulfilled my order correctly. Then he hung up on me. I called back, he pick the phone up And just laid it on the counter. I waited for five minutes, thinking, possibly he would actually answer, but he never did. I disconnected the call, BlockEd my phone number, and called back. This time, a female answered and said she was the manager. At this point, I'm confused. Those she was polite she never could Grasp the fact that this is a repeated behavior of them not fulfilling the order, and she kept denying that he hung up on me Saying that it must've been an accidental disconnect. I'm not sure what happened to Noodle, but after my last visit, I decided I won't be going back again. For some reason, they are one of very few restaurants that have not opened their "dining in" area since the Pandemic. Instead, it has become this unfriendly assembly line to order and "stay out of the way until your food is ready" atmosphere. They have a phone, but they won't answer it. No friendly smile or any conversation like it used to be... just know what you want, order, and move out of the way. If you choose to enjoy the patio and have a glass of wine, you receive the small, cheap, picnic size plastic utensils (that contain a 4-5" paper thin napkin) and they drop a Sutter Home mini bottle in your styrofoam cup (used to pour you a glass of decent wine)... cost is the same. I don't know, maybe I'm weird, or lucky when it comes to Noodle? I've been a few times, to several locations, and it's always been consistently good to me. Great? Maybe not, but the portions are large, the food is well-seasoned, and it's very affordable. And I'm a food snob, so I don't know what's going on when the majority of people who eat here say it's not that great. Or maybe it's because I've only ever ordered the noodle dishes? I don't know... Anyways, on to the review! PROS: -Fairly large portions of food. -Reasonable pricing, especially considering how much food you get. -Good location. There are a lot of other things to do around the area other than to just eat here. CONS: -It's in Decatur, so parking tends to be limited. -Some prepackaged and not fresh meats are used, but that's not super detrimental since it's still pretty common. THE VERDICT: I've only ever had the noodle dishes, so I can't say anything about their other food. I remember the first time I came to one of these locations, was in college, and it was the College Park location. From what I remember the portions then were much more than here, and I was able to get food for 2-3 meals, versus this one which lasted 2 meals. I've always walked past this place in Decatur Square but have never gone in. Why you might ask, because I always have low expectations of trendy Asian restaurants. So what made me patronize this place? Because I didn't feel like driving up to Buford Hwy and Noodle is so near my place. Noodle is located by the square next to F2O. They have a dog-friendly patio/outside seating. We walked in and was told we should seat ourselves wherever we liked. So we chose outside since it was a beautiful evening. The menu was brought to us promptly and we scanned thru the pages and found that they served Asian with some fusion. One could either order straight from the menu or you could 'create' your own bowl. So I did. I had the egg noodle in curry sauce, chicken, bok choy, bean sprouts and mushrooms. My husband had the peanut noodle. I had expected soupy curry, what came was noodle in almost dry curry. Firstly the noodle. The texture was springy, not soggy. The sauce had no spice so I had to add some hot sauce. The gravy was not salty, which I like cos most restaurants drown their food with salt. The generous amount of ingredients in the noodles were great. Oh, if you do not like sriracha, you need to bring your own hot sauce. My husband's peanut noodle wasn't exactly pad thai. It was exactly what was described. His verdict was that it got better as he ate. Overall, this place isn't going to be our go-to place for Asian but if we didn't feel like traveling to Buford, this would be an alternative. This place isn't bad, I think it deserves 3.5 and not 3. I think I have tried to give this restaurant more chances than I have ever given any other restaurants. The other day they had a groupon thing going so I invited some friends that has never been before since one of them is korean and she has never been here before and my old korean roomies loved this place. Unfortunately, this is really going to be the last time I am going there. First of all, my friends also had groupons. We couldve made the whole thing more complicated by getting two tables so that they can let us use our groupons. The tables were all connected anyway so it would have not been a big problem to do that. But the waitress refused. Then, she proceeded to put all the bill under one receipt and deduct the groupon this way and that created a very confusing and awkward moment for everyone on the table since we all now have to calculate how to split the discount and be fair to the one who spent money to get the coupon... in the end, we just split it and realized later that whoever bought the groupon actually spent more money by using the groupon ... *breather***** get my drift? anyways, this could have been easy for us but yeah .. sure... whatever .... im glad everyone in our group stayed cool ... i ordered the kung pao beef and the beef were like sawdusts glued together... there were definitely like half a pound of onions and like 7 pieces of beef ... there were a lot of broccoli which I didnt mind, and the green and red pepper were a bit much and they were overwhelming ... the rice, well, i have better rice at home... Jam Bong delivers well as always, but the pho soup we ordered were on the cheap side ... they had meat balls 'flank' in it ... then proceeded to give us just cilantro to go with it ... yeah... not so impressive.... Second time in one week. I'm a fan of Pan-Asian food and they do a nice job. I went their for lunch last week and the service was okay, but the food were good. First time I ordered the Famous Fried Rice with Chicken and Kimchi. Most recently, I created my own bowl with chilled cabbage, chicken, broccoli, and carrots with the spicy basil sauce. Both times I was pleased with my lunch order. Nothing exceptional, but a good eat during lunch time. When I finally sat down at my desk to enjoy my meal, I found a long strand of hair mixed into my food. It was quite disgusting and I immediately lost my appetite. My BF asked about any GF appetizer options and she said oh, well the cucumber salad should be gluten free. This is one of my ABSOLUTE fave spots in the city! I love their take on Thai food, and though I can't eat most of what's on the menu, I don't mind it at all because the food is that great! Noodle has multiple locations--I've been to the one in Midtown but don't care for it too much. The food is the same but the service and vibe are totally different; Decatur is where it's at! Menu: I've had the crunch grouper, coconut soup, sweet potatoe fries, Thai peanut noodle (their version of pad thai), and several offerings off their cocktail menu. Everything is delicious! Service; Brianna is the best, though all of their staff are excellent. The last time I was their Brianna waited on us and she made the entire table feel exceptionally well and loved! Location: There's no better place to chill than Noodle's patio. On a sunny day, it's the perfect spot for lunch and some Vitamin D.
