So happy to see Nooch move from the Utrechtstraat to the Kinkerstraat--it's a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. The Asian Fusion here is consistently fresh, tasty, and great value. The food highlights for me are definitely the vegan duck pancakes (total highlight!) and the Pad Thai. I also tried the red curry salad, which was a really interesting and fresh combination of flavors. If you're into cocktails, the strawberry and elderberry G&T is awesome. They have plenty of vegan options, which is a huge plus, and the service is always warm and super quick. My only minor gripe is that the interior is a bit on the dark side, but it's still a nice vibe for a date or a group dinner. Really glad to have them nearby now. I'll definitely be back! read more

Loved it! Walking thru Amsterdam, we hit "hungry". I found Nooch and it turned out to be an accidental gold mine. It pleased everyone! We had Chicken Noodle, Mango Shrimp Crab, spring rolls, red curry, and pad Thai. The restaurant caters to many eaters, vegan, vegetarian, and meat eaters. They have beer, wine, mixed drinks. It is a nice restaurant with friendly staff, and a calm atmosphere. We were lucky and were able to just pop in. But making a reservation is an option to make sure you get in. read more

Four friends traveling through Amsterdam for a few days. Had reservations for the "Upstairs" pancake house at 15:00 and it was about 12:30 as we were walking around locally. Stopped in for some light bites and some beers/sake. Ordered the shrimp pad thai, fried sampler, and a round of beers + two bottles of sake (enough for two rounds) = check came out to about 98 euros. The fried sampler was a great pairing for the brews and the pad thai was average. The shrimp and chicken stuffed gyoza was the absolute best and the veggie "eggrolls" were a close second. Food came out piping hot so that was a plus. For the pad thai, the tamarind flavor was not as bright as I've tasted and the noodles were broken more than desired. I would recommend trying another *unique* item if possible, like one of the rolls or more appetizer selections (especially for a dish that was about 17-18 euros. We made reservations and were seated right away. Cute little place. It is quite loud but not too bad. There were some tasty sounding and unique cocktails on the menu. Good wine and Asian (and Dutch) beer options. There were many dishes that sounded good and you can make most vegetarian if preferred. Husband went with the sesame chicken wings and some sushi. He loved the wings. The sushi came out with the wrong fish but was quickly fixed. And multiple people came by to apologize and make sure all was okay. I went for the pad Thai. Huge portion with shrimp, chicken (breast!), and tofu. I liked the spice and it was a bit less sweet than what I am used to. Food came out super quickly. Asian fusion restaurant - clean flavors. Ordered the fried Yaki roll which is interesting (crab, avocado, cucumber and salmon) but fried. I also got the Peking duck ramen and Pad Thai. It's interesting, but it doesn't actually taste like any of the things as stated. The ramen is actually spaghetti and the pad Thai doesn't taste like pad Thai, but the flavors are clean and it's still tasty. This place was a highlight of my Amsterdam vacation. The dishes with the hearts next to them do not disappoint. I started with rhe chicken wings, crisp and flavorful. Then I had the thai beef salad which is amazing - tender beef and crisp lettuce with a pungent dressing. I also had the pho, which was some of the best I've had, and I eat a lot of pho. Went here on our first day in Amsterdam for a quick jetlagged lunch and were so pleased! We hadn't even looked this place up beforehand--just desperately strolled, seeking a place that looked calm and inviting. Nooch fulfilled those requirements, and we were quickly treated to a very nice, flavorful lunch. We started with the dimsum app which was hot, soft and moist (yeah you're welcome for that word). Then I ordered the fried fish salad which was--while maybe not the healthiest--super tasty, and my s.o. had the Thai beef salad. Healthier and still yummy, but we agreed the fried fish was tops so I'd really recommend that. Overall it was the perfect casual, relaxed lunch for two overtired traveling New Yorkers. These guys have free wifi if you have time to hang out and surf the net, check your email or whatever. It's a relaxed environment for a tasty meal, too There's a few tables outside to sit at when weather permits. They're located in a busy tourist area, de Negen Straatjes, on a relatively busy street with a lot of foot traffic. It's a refreshing change of pace from all the other food in the area. The food appears to be a mix of several asian cultures. There's sushi, pad thai, teriyaki. Would you like chopsticks or silverware? Chopsticks are healthier. We stumbled into Nooch because it was open late and close to our hotel. Boy am I glad that happened. Good food well prepared with an interesting variety. The prices are lower than a lot of the other places near by as well. On the way home from Europe that same week I read a good review about Nooch in the airline seat back magazine. Asian fusion. Everything I have had off the menu is good. The chefs dim sum ap is good, the rolls and any ap was enjoyed. The spicy shrimp entree was good, but I would have preferred the shells more fully removed. The pad tai was excellent. All the US people I have brought here have enjoyed it. Make a reservation if dining during busy times. It is not a huge place and fills up quickly. The owner is frequently present. Don't be afraid. Not exceedingly fancy but an excellent value and appears to be a well respected local place. read more

3.5 stars rounded up. We tried Nooch because it was really close to our hotel and we were hungry after doing a long walking tour of Amsterdam. The menu looked inviting, and there was a table available so in we went! We started with the pepper tuna (grilled tuna marinated with Japanese pepper) and it was prepared almost seared (cooked outside to about a quarter-inch inward, pink/red & cool inside). Very enjoyable! Next up, Vietnamese salad (mixed salad Vietnamese style with beef and bean sprouts) and a spicy tuna tempura sushi roll (spicy tuna, tartar, shrimp tempura, tuna, orange masago, sesame seed) and both were great. If we had more time in Amsterdam, we probably would have returned for lunch. read more

The girls that work here are very nice & sweet. I first ordered some sunshine and thought it to be very good but one of the reasons I came was for some chicken and this being an Asian Fusion wanted to give it a go. Overall, the experience was very nice but just being honest, the chicken dish I had was just okay- nothing more. Now, could be that I live in California with the very good Asian places around San Fran, LA and Orange County but have had some really amazing dishes in the past and that's why I'm giving a 3 on food only. The food was delicious. The noise level is high (everything hard surfaced) but still pleasant for a group of four. Our servers were friendly, but they seemed understaffed - The room holds maybe 40 people and there were only two front of house staff to serve a very full restaurant. It took a long time to place our orders and even longer to get the food. I would go back for the quality, but look for an evening when it's not so crowded. read more

We visited Nooch as a group of 5 adults and 2 children. When trying to book reservations I wanted to make a 5:30pm but the site said there were no reservations with exception of 5pm or at 7pm. With that said we were forced to go at 5pm. When we arrived there was one couple in the restaurant that left shortly after we arrived. The waiter was great for the first 20 min to take orders and bring food. Let me say all the food was excellent with the exception of the duck that was over cooked, tasteless, and dry. The sushi rolls, chicken satay, chicken wings, spring rolls were all delicious as well as the pad Thai. Now for the bad....once the food came the entire wait staff sat outside at a table and completely forgot about us. I had to poke my head out the front door and call them several times to ask for things. This was absolutely unbelievable. We were in the restaurant alone our entire meal (can't remember but think bartender was going in and out). There were no patrons inside with exception of our party therefore the staff felt free to hang out and socialize outside as we sat inside. As for reservation we left at 6:45pm and no one was in the restaurant except us therefore we could have easily made reservation at anytime. Alan found Nooch on TripAdvisor UK. It's right around the corner from our hotel. We walked in and were welcomed and seated. The restaurant space has clean, attractive lines. There were a few other parties seated, a family of three, a couple of women. One wall is lined w/ a high backed tufted red banquette. Tables are lined up in front of the banquette w/ chairs facing it. Pendant light fixtures are wire mesh dome shaped cages illuminated by white globes. Tall stalks of curly bamboo stand in slender vases on each table. We were given menus, light green letters on a black/dark blue background. It was attractive, but I found it almost impossible to read. You can read it easily on the website. Fortunately Alan had better light and could read it a little better than I. We ordered the Oriental Mix to start, 2 spring rolls, 2 shrimp rolls and 4 deep fried dim sum w/ a Thai-style dipping sauce. It was good. I particularly enjoyed the shrimp rolls and the spring rolls. We followed w/ the Shanghai Eye, thinly sliced ribeye steak w/ asparagus and carrots in what's described as a traditional garlic sauce over rice. The beef and asparagus were good, although I encountered a bit of gristle, but the sauce was bland. We were both disappointed, although it was edible, just undistinguished. Our last dish was Peking Duck ramen. The duck was good, w/ a hoisin sauce served on the side. The broth wasn't as rich as some I've had, but it was good. The noodles were good, but could have been just a bit firmer. There was a nice assortment of vegetables, from broccoli to chopped bok choy to carrots and zucchini. I was happy that my husband and I chose Nooch for our last dinner in Amsterdam. Our waiter was one of the most friendly we had on our trip, and we both enjoyed our food. We shared the fried wontons, I had duck ramen, and my husband got a sushi platter. While the food maybe wasn't the best Japanese we'd ever had, we both finished all of our food and really enjoyed it! Absolutely great food in the "9" street district which has great shopping and fun boutiques to browse. You sir close to your neighbors but that makes the atmosphere and the conversation even more fun. They are known for there first three appetizers on the list and we got all three and wanted more.
