Took a chance and walked in for dinner. Sat at the counter, and it worked out great. Their yakitori was yummy and very they had a good selection. Ramen was tasty, broth was clean and flavorful. Nice vibes and staff were friendly. Sometimes you find gems when not planned.

When I went here the first time I didn't like it too much but I gave it another chance and the second time around it was actually really good. The cod cream udon was a real standout to me personally, I haven't had a dish like that in a while. The Izakaya was good & better than the items I had last time, granted that was years ago. The cocktails were also good albeit I'm forgetting what I had. I'd return back!

This restaurant was so delicious and such a vibe. This place was hidden in a corner and I'm so glad we checked it out. There was an upstairs eating area as well as seats on the first floor. We ordered a variety of dishes and the Karage and ramen were my favorite. They also had fun drink options to choose from. Service was great and food was delicious :)

The service here is great and the workers are friendly. This place is modern, clean and has a decent amount of seating. There's an upstairs and downstairs floor. I recommend making reservations. The tori tantan ramen was flavorful and had a strong nutty flavor. The skewers were delicious, especially the short rib. The cod roe cream udon was really saucy and enjoyable. The Suishingen tasted light and wasn't too sweet. Definitely would come back here.

Honestly more of a 2.5 if I'm being frank so this is me being generous. It's usually a wait with no resy but that's fine. The last time we were here prob 6 months ago, food and service was p good. But this time...things went downhill. The cod roe pasta was bland and nothing outstanding. The skewers were fine but took forever to come out. In fact, our food came so slow that 2 different servers including our own assigned waitress asked if they could clear our table and one time she took away all our utensils and napkins before learning from us that we are stil missing 3 items! Crazy...I have no words but other than I kmow you're busy but please find a way to fix this service. Lastly we tried to order dessert. We asked for a regular hokkaido milk soft serve and within 5 min asked to change to matcha parfait (which uses hokkaido milk soft serve as a base). Server said too late. They make it v fast but lol the dessert took some time to come out so I suspect they def could've changed it. Would NOT be coming back in a while! The icecream was tasty though - best part of the meal!

Wanted a quick pick me up after a meal, and we were seated right away. The restaurant is really cute, featuring two floors, and the restrooms have sliding doors. The food itself was really delicious. I enjoyed the yakitori. I ordered the chicken, heart, liver, and gizzards. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service was pretty good overall, I have no complaints. Definitely a great place to enjoy Izakaya menu options.

Super dope Japanese ambience. They have the yakitori grills out in the front which is cool to see. Stellar pricing for the quality of food. Great place to bring friends for a family style feast. Drinks A+. Get the salmon tataki, zuke maguro, kinoko, sukiyaki udon, and chicken oyster.

Nono NYC seriously exceeded expectations. The sushi was SO fresh and flavorful, and the ramen broth was rich without being too heavy. Everything tasted high quality and made with care. The staff was super sweet and attentive, and the whole restaurant had such a cozy vibe. Perfect spot for a casual dinner that still feels special. Already craving the ramen again

A solid place! Came here on a Friday evening with family for the very first time. We were seated upstairs towards the back - it was a nice and cosy spot. Ordered a bunch of yakitoris. The chicken ones were very good. The kids loved the DiY hand roll - it was tasty and also fun for them! They had matcha parfait on the menu for dessert. It came with their own home made matcha jellies which was very good. Glad I was able to check out this restaurant after all these years.

This was a somewhat casual Japanese restaurant, a stone's throw away from the chaos of Herald Square. We popped in for lunch. It's a two floor joint but the most scenic seating is on the bottom level. For mains, we ordered the Cod Cream Ramen and the Sashimi Teishoku. The Cod Cream Ramen is the dish that keeps me from giving this place five stars. It was texturally great with heavy cream galore but did not have the punch from similar versions of this I've had in the past. The Sashimi Teishoku was truly a five star dish. The fish quality was MUCH higher than expected. For dessert, our only choice was the Suishingen, a "rain drop pudding served with soy bean powder and brown sugar sauce." Sometimes less choice is better. The look was unique. It was firmer compared to something like jello and the brown sugar sauce and soy bean powder made for a familiar yet welcome Asian flavor. Service was appropriate to the casual nature of the restaurant. Would I come here again? if I was in neighborhood, absolutely.

it was good! The ambience was really nice. It's great for brunch or a quick lunch. The seafood is fresh and the chicken wasn't dry at all. I also got the tuna pickle roll (not pictured here) that was probably one of my favorites.

Finally affordable yakitori place is here! Love the atmosphere here, it's like izakaya but fancy. The service was amazing and food is delicious! Definitely recommend!

Service was very good when we were there for dinner, but we made a reservation for 6:30 and were not told there's a time limit at any time, until when we tried to order a second round of drinks and food. It was then we were told there's another reservation for our table in 40 minutes so we would have to finish and pack and go within that time frame. It messed up our plans and we ended up not being able to order desserts.

Do you offer takeout and/or delivery?

    Yes they do

Trying to make a reservation online and was asked to choose my preferred seating. What is the difference between "indoor dining" and "dining table" - the only two options provided?

Hi, thank you for the inquiry. You can choose "dining table", that's the only option we have at this time.

Will you have new items coming soon?

Their menus look extremely old, so I wouldn't bank on it.

Does this restaurant accept walk-in seating or is it reservation-only?

They accept walk-ins. Probably make a reservation if you don't want to wait though, especially during busy hours.

    Is there outdoor seating?

There has been during COVID and not in the winter.

Are there gluten free options? If so, is there a GF menu?

I don't think there are gluten free options as far as I know. To confirm you'll have to call the restaurant.

Is it open seating at the bar?

    Yes.

    Are there vegetarian options here?

Yes they have vegetarian options available.

Are there a lot of gluten options? Is there a gluten free menu?

There was not a separate GF menu when I went but there were many, many GF options. Careful with the sauces but not a hard issue if you've been around the block before and/or have a knowledgeable server.

What kind of attire should I wear? Can I dress up to go here?

It's a casual joint. If you want to dress up you won't stick out per say. I saw a table of women dressed up for GNO and a table clearly on a date. It's not like dressing up and going to a dive bar. You'll be fine however you dress. Hope that helps.

    When is the happy hour?

Not sure what time it starts but it ends at 7pm

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy.
