I asked a young man that was working there if he could tell me what lens size one of the Ray Ban's were, he looked at me a little puzzled but Jennifer overheard my question, came over, looked at the tag and stated these are 58's. Then said to the young man, "I'll teach you". The point of my story is Jennifer is fantastic! She had a store full of people, asking questions, dropping glasses :( and on top of that was training someone on a busy Holiday weekend. She was helpful, energetic and patient. Again, I didn't plan on finding anything but the experience alone made me want to buy my glasses there, especially after my interaction with Jennifer. Keep up the great work, I'll be back!

I had a very disappointing experience at Ojo Optique…read more I purchased my glasses there less than two years ago. This week, I brought them in for a simple adjustment. The glasses were in excellent condition when I arrived, and a staff member even commented on how well they had been cared for. During the adjustment, the store manager used pliers on the nose piece, and it broke off while in his hands. I was then told the nose piece is soldered to the frame, that it could not be repaired, and that I was essentially out of luck. No warning was given beforehand about any risk of breakage. And, no liability waiver was presented. No offer of assistance was provided. After contacting ownership, the only resolution offered was to replace the front piece at half price ($130). Since the damage occurred during an in-store adjustment, I expected the business to stand behind its work and replace the frame. I understand that accidents happen, but how a business responds matters. I was disappointed that full responsibility was not taken for damage that occurred while the glasses were in their care. This is a local shop with very high prices, they should provide better customer service!

I had to pay $130 for simple eye exam that should have been completely covered by…read moremy vision insurance, because Botwin decided that they had done something "medical" rather than simple eye exam, so submitted claim to my medical insurance (which charges me deductible) instead of my vision insurance. The "medical" thing they did? Noticed I have mild cataracts, and said I don't need to do anything about them. This is the exact same thing I've been told for years by other optometrists who always submitted claim to my vision insurance, which covered the entire cost of the eye exam. Thus I had to pay $130 for them to tell me something I already knew, and that didn't need to be treated. I took this up with person at my medical insurance company, who told me that the insurance company had to go by the doctor's "code" for the claim, but that this "coding" sounded unreasonable to her, since the cataracts had already been diagnosed by another doctor, and aren't causing any problem yet. That person --- who works at the insurance company -- wondered if this was a way for an optometry practice to make more money. I don't know, but I'm not returning to Botwin again.

This is a family owned optical shop that has the latest styles in glass frames. The grandmother,…read moremom and daughter run the place. All with lots of experience so that I felt well cared for. Second time I've ordered glasses from them. And I'm happy to be back. Their prices are competitive with a nice discount on a second pair. Only issue is that they don't take insurance which seems to be the way almost every optical shop works now. I like this family so much that I don't care if I have to submit the charges directly to my insurance.
