I signed up at the end of October, got the "router" in mid November (actually a wifi hotspot and not one of the devices their webpage was showcasing at the time), and on January 3rd my service stopped working. Spent a few days trying to troubleshoot thinking it was an issue on my end before I contacted support who, after much teeth pulling, informed me there was nothing they could do. Turns out, in the first week of December they had sent out an email that flew under the radar titled "A Word From Our Founder" that showed off the brand new routers they had been developing, and outlined the company's plans for the future. Namely, rework all the plans and pricing being offered for new accounts, and convert all existing accounts into "Legacy" accounts with the three following options for moving forward: 1. Sign up for a new plan with a two year commitment and a new router at a $100 discount off the start up fee. You have until February 1st, after which the discount code will stop working. 2. Take the router they had shipped you for your old plan, request a new SIM card, and sign up for a Bring Your Own Device Unlimited 5G Data Plan. This came with an "Oh, btw, the old router isn't on the approved devices list for this plan, so you're using it at your own risk" style disclaimer. 3. Do nothing and keep your plan and service, but there's an unspecified period of time before your service is going to be cut off. Turns out that unspecified time was about three weeks. Naturally I was frustrated, so I took a few days to weigh my options before deciding that while this was BS, the quality of the Internet service itself had actually been pretty good while it worked, so I'd go ahead and sign up for one of the new two year plans. This was a mistake. I have come to find out that literally hours later, they announced that they were doing away with commitment plans and were reworking their pricing for the second time in a month. The new service packages come out to being $100 less than what I had just signed up for using the discount code, and the discount code no longer works. No one has reached out to me, and my order has not been refunded despite the service option I signed up for no longer being offered, and the real kicker, I'm still being charged for my original plan that hasn't worked since the 3rd. read more

My heart sank as Verizon had already informed me they do not have internet coverage in my area. I set the modem up with minimal effort. I was with them for over a year and that year was full of emails from their "support" team (aka, some guy on his mom's basement working part time) complaining that I was using too much data. I had an unlimited plan. I specifically purchased that plan (which at the time did contain any "strings" attached) fully expecting to use a lot of data. Nomad was really good prior to November 2022. Then it went into meltdown. CEO started changing all the rules, randomly charging different amounts for routers and offers, locking down Sim cards. No phone support. Everything must be a messaged - and no meaningful response. I had tried to continue service with them but they kept changing all the charges and service terms. I have had nomad internet for a little over a year and starting out it was rough as i got my router and sim card on a weekend, when i called to activate it they said they couldn't do it and had to wait till monday to activate it. After that the service was fair but 6 months in they changes their business structure and so the "free" modem which i actually paid $500 for upfront is now being charged for monthly at $25. And now my internet completely went out and I can't talk to anyone on the phone because they are updating their system, they have also gotten rid of the live chat support so i can't contact them on there. I have sent in 3 tickets requesting support and haven't gotten a single reply. I have also sent an email to support and again nothing. They just changed me again today for service that i cant use so once it posts my back will open a claim and refund me the money. The internet works enough for you to stream Netflix most of the time. If you have absolutely no other options then this may work for you. However, my experience has not been good. My download speeds ar less then 1 mbps, things are constantly loading and you can not have more than 1 device connected at a time or it will constantly buffer. The sim card in the router goes bad a lot and you have to wait 3 plus weeks for replacement. There is not even a customer service number to call, well there is but apparently it's not safe for calls due to COVID 19. You can only correspond through email. I cancelled my service a month ago and mailed back the equipment and I'm still getting a monthly bill taken out of my account because they say they haven't received their equipment yet. They are a very expensive hotspot with terrible customer service. They have lied to me consistently about shipping a replacement router that works. The company is a scam. Jaden Garza is a scam artist. Can't find a legitimate business license for the PO box they use or their physical address. I am giving NOMAD a rating of a 3, because we can stream which we never could do before on our hotspot (which is all we had). My previous customer service experience with them has been frustrating I would say, because you can only chat and if you have to leave the chat when you come back you basically seem to have to start over explaining the issue. Can't really talk to them by phone. I have had to exchange routers three times. However today I had a great experience with Ryan, and I would give him 5 stars. I have been a customer for approximately 2 years. There were challenges on a couple of occasions of customer service resolved the issues. Just prior to nomads change to Verizon I began to see issues of outages. For the two years I had a Mobile account, then for no reason I was sent a fixed modem with an internal SIM card. I inquired as to why I was sent the modem but received no answer. The service went completely out in December of 2022. Shortly thereafter I received notification that they had been bought out or merged with Verizon. They stated the service would be better and cheaper. Their change cost me approximately $150 to convert to the new system (Not cheaper). In February of 2023 I lost service completely. I sent two emails and received no response. A week later I send additional email requesting cancellation of services no response. Within a couple days my account was charged full fee for services in advance. I sent approximately six additional emails over the course of 2 weeks requesting cancellation, acknowledgment of cancellation and a refund of the credited amount. To date I've received no response. I have filed complaint with the better Business bureau and I'm waiting for any response my expectation is very low. Fortunately I found other means for rural internet. Much more reliable and an actual customer service center where I speak to a person. I know it's a difficult in today's world to go without internet service. If I had to do over again today I would not use their service I would rather have the inconvenience of going into the City and sitting outside of the public library using their Wi-Fi. In addition to the amount of money that I've invested with no services the frustration aggravation time spent emailing is just been terrible. I would offer zero stars if possible. Please stay away from these people if you can. Originally we were able to use their pay by the year strong pink plan and it worked just fine until December. They cut off our service without warning and told us after the fact the CEO switched the company to Verizon only. Aside from not giving any advanced notice about the change, they said they wouldn't provide support to help get me back into a working state. I ended up cancelling the remaining 6 months I had on my fully paid year of service. As I didn't have an alternative at that time, I went ahead and bought their monthly data only Verizon sim plan (which they also refuse to support). They did try to sell me one of their $600 modems but I declined, having to pay 40% more for their monthly data only plan was bad enough. I have had their Verizon service for a month now, but the service *stopped* 14 days after I received the sim. This was not due to bad reception or payment, they simply cut the service. When I went to cancel the account, they told me it had to be done via phone (that alone raised flags, who doesn't want something like that in writing?!?!). When calling via phone (countless times) it rings indefinitely (I have waited all day, multiple days) or just goes straight to voicemail and no one ever calls back. After looking online at their Facebook and reading reviews across Reddit and other sources its very apparent I am one of hundreds if not more people who they actively refused to assist or cancel. I have noted that several people have had to resort to contacting their banks to get the payments cancelled as Nomad refuses to respond to customers cancellation requests. The CEO claims they are the best and largest WISP capable of providing services better than others cell services or even Starlink. It is factually impossible for that to be true as their entire service provided depends on how close you are to a Verizon cell tower, perhaps if you live with a Verizon 5G antennae in your yard but for the other 99.9% of the population it just does not and can not work like he claims. Please do yourself a favor and just get TMobile's home internet (even their home internet lite is a better deal with the same data caps as Verizon). The home internet from TMobile is one third of the monthly cost of Nomad, you don't have to pay for a $600 router (or any cost for their router) and you can cancel whenever you want if there are any issues and know that they handle those processes in an above board manner.
