The gentleman at the window was nice and helpful. We went with their brisket platter- decent portion with full flavor and perfectly prepared. Cornbread and beans were great. We also did a side of Mac n cheese; it was decent, but lacked flavor. Overall, great place with a local, true bbq vibe and we will definitely return!

They were Featured Each Week At That Time At The Wilmington Inn For Their "Wicked Wednesday" Events & They Always Got Rave Reviews. Each Week Mr Ruble Would Change Up The Menu With New & Delicious surprises with flavors and tastes from all Around the globe. And each Time I Went, The Food Was perfection. It wasn't long before Brandon Ruble Was The Talk Of The Town and Over the last two years or so, he went on to purchase a food truck for "Nomad Chefs" & Everybody Loves It. And Not long ago, I heard he had a brand new Food Truck & Started A Whole New Brand Called "The Smokehouse". They are currently at the River Valley Market & I'd been dying to go but kept missing it for one reason or the other, but last week I got there at just the right time. I even Got A Chance To Meet Brandon Ruble himself & He Was Just As Sweet As He Is Talented. It's easy to see how hard he works & How Well. A true master at what he does. A seasoned professional. Dan Took my order and he was awesome. Funny, sweet & Very Accommodating. His sweet tea was out of this world & Some of the best I've ever had. I Ordered the Brisket with Sides Of Coleslaw, Baked Beans & Homemade Cornbread. I Was Hesitant to order the brisket as my recent experiences doing so at other establishments didn't turn out so well. It takes a special touch to get brisket just right and not over or under cooked. Usually people miss the mark one way or the other. But The minute I opened my to-go box, I knew this wouldn't be the same. You could literally see how juicy it was & The meat was so tender it was almost falling apart In Your Mouth. To say that it was perfection would be an understatement. And the Flavor? Sooooo delectable. Rich & Full Bodied. Just perfect. Holy smokes was that delicious ( No Pun Intended). This was hands down The best brisket I've Ever had in all my life and I'm no spring chicken. Theres such a huge difference in the taste when its made by someone who is a true artist. Someone who puts thought, and time into all of the dishes that he adds to his menu. Someone like Brandon Ruble. I would highly recommend this food cart 100%. It Is Without A Doubt, The Best & Most Delicious Meal You'll Find & even The Fairest Price. Not Only Will You Love It, You Will Leave Full And Happy & You'll want to come back & So will your whole family. As You Eat Or Wait For Your To-Go Order, You'll Smell The Two Extra Large Smokers Going The Whole Time. The menu has something For Everyone, including Chicken Wings, Burgers, Fries & Even Hush Puppies. The main attraction though is the smoked platter. You choose your meat , IE Brisket, Pork Etc & pick two side dishes. No matter what you pick it'll be delicious. You will be very happy. I guarantee it. I went back a few days later with a friend of mine who's usually the hardest critic and doesn't like to to try new things. He sticks with the places he knows and goes there habitually. But even he went crazy over "The Smokehouse". His quote exactly was "This Is Better Than Any Place In Town". And THAT is the hugest statement of all in a place like vermont where there's delicious food everywhere. I highly recommend "The Smokehouse" Food Cart, In Addition to The "Nomad Chef's" Food Cart & Or Anything Else Brandon Ruble Puts his hands on. This man is absolutely gifted. The meal that I Had At "The Smokehouse" is only one of the many incredible creations that we've all come to know & expect from Mr Ruble When He Puts His name on Something. As far as I can see, there's nothing this man can't do. 5 stars

We stopped in during their opening month to see if it lived up to the hype, and it's safe to say this is exactly what the valley needed. The Atmosphere The first thing you notice is the arcade. It's a total game-changer if you have kids (or if you're just a competitive adult). It keeps the vibe lively without feeling like a chaotic playground, and it's a great way to kill time while waiting for a table or hanging out after a day on the slopes. The Food We sampled a bit of everything, and for a brand-new kitchen, they are already hitting their stride: The Wings: These were the standout. Crispy skin, juicy interior, and the sauces actually have some personality. Definitely get an order for the table. Roasted Chicken: This is the ultimate comfort dish. It was perfectly seasoned and felt like a high-end home-cooked meal. If you want something hearty but not "pub heavy," this is the move. Tenderloin Sandwich: Wow. The steak was incredibly tender (as promised) and served on a fresh roll that didn't fall apart. It's a massive step up from your standard steak sandwich.

I managed to get us a table within a 10 minute wait thankfully. Our group of 4 was seated and we started with drinks and appetizers. My go to is an Aperol spritz and here it is a huge glass! For appetizers we started with a burrata, fire roasted meatballs, and the nachos to share. The burrata was delicious and paired perfectly with pesto and tomatoes. All you needed to do was add salt. The fire roasted meatballs were okay I definitely wouldn't order them again. The nachos are an absolute must as a share. They came out on a giant pizza tray and we add chili for extra protein! I was impressed our party was able to eat everything. Next we ordered our main courses. I ordered the baby beet salad which was nice and light with goat cheese pecans and beets which I absolutely love. My boyfriend ordered the corned beef Reuben which was delicious. His only complaint were his fries came out ice cold somehow but the sandwich was hot. The rest of our party orders buffalo chicken wings which were moist and had a nice spicy kick. For the amount of food and drinks we ordered our bill was around $200 with tip which was very reasonable being so close to Mount snow. Parking gets packed easily and we had two cars waiting for my spot by the time we left. I highly recommend the last chair for après ski. They even have this cool arcade for kids and adults next door.

A…read moredelightful selection of tapas at reasonable prices in front of a roaring fire was impossible to resist. Our innkeeper Shelly was charming and gave us the run down on all our menu questions. We started with a lovely bottle of Italian wine that Shelly offered. Our dining experience then proceeded to the bread and dukka, which was a sourdough served with a dipping oil as well as dukka seasoning - a delightful taste combination. Next up was an artisanal cheese board -- with two types of crackers, three local cheeses, pear and apple slices, candied walnuts and the pièce de resistance-- an amazing truffle honey to top it all off with. The story could have ended here and I would been been completely satisfied with our dining exploration, but we were only halfway through. Next up were two tapas dishes served simultaneously, a lemon infused steak, with horseradish sauce (Shelly says they have a secret technique for preparing their steak) and also a fennel au gratin dish. Both were excellent flavor combinations but I have to give the edge to the lemon-infused steak, with the horseradish being the perfect saucy compliment. Before going on to dessert, we decided to try one more tapas dish - the chickpeas with andouille sausage and spinach. This combination was served in a bowl, almost like a soup. The sausage bits gave it just enough spice to keep it as interesting as all the dishes that came before it. In fact, I don't know that chickpeas have ever been this exciting, and I'm a big fan of the Garbonzo. I should also mention that the ambiance at Fireside is wonderful and cozy. A low wood beamed ceiling is complimented by unique artwork and a tasteful and low-level music selection. Be sure to ask Shelly why the Kate artwork is especially significant to her. Lastly for dessert, I chose the Dutch Baby Pancake. Served in a tiny but sizzling skillet with a cherry topping and a scoop of ice cream, no further words are necessary beyond the ingredients. Just be sure to have a glass of water handy because the pancake itself is extremely hot at first. Prior to Fireside, Shelly ran a restaurant in London for six years. Her experience shines through in the amazingly simple, yet awesomely elegant and novel food combinations. If you are looking for quiet, cozy, romantic dining in the Manchester VT area, Fireside is the hidden gem of delight, waiting for you to discover it! When we came on a Saturday night, we nearly had the place to ourselves. But I have a feeling that when word gets out, Fireside will be packed every night that they are open.

This place has been a Wilmington staple since 1997, and you can tell they've spent the last nearly 30 years perfecting the craft. The atmosphere is incredible. While the original 1850s building was lost to a fire in 2010, the current space is a beautiful, faithful replica that feels historic and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a post-ski dinner or a summer night out. Here's the breakdown of what you need to order: The Chowder: This is proper New England clam chowder. It's thick, rich, and loaded with clams--not just a bowl of potatoes and heavy cream. It's the ultimate comfort food. Steamers: You have to start with the steamers. They are clean, sweet, and served the traditional way with a side of broth and drawn butter. It's a messy, delicious classic that they do perfectly here. Whole Belly Clams: These are the gold standard. They're lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and have that sweet, briny pop you usually only find at a roadside shack on the Maine coast. If you're a fan of "the bellies," don't skip these. The Lobster: I went for the steamed lobster, and it was impeccable. Succulent chunks of fresh meat and just the right amount of butter. It tasted like it was caught that morning. It's rare to find a spot that balances a "fancy night out" feel with such unpretentious, high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through for the foliage, make sure you stop here.
