    Peking Duck Bao
    Sarah T.

My husband and I were at the Rampart Casino and while walking by we decided to take a look at the menu. Nothing really appealed to us except for the Peking duck Baos which was 2 for $14. Intrigued, my husband decided to order it. It was absolutely delicious! Moist, rich, and packed with flavor! The bao itself was soft and pillowy, and had a generous amount of tender duck. There was also cucumber which gave it a nice, refreshing crunch and balanced everything out nicely. The bao was a little greasy, but in the best possible way which added to the indulgent, melt-in-your-mouth experience. Every bite was satisfying. This review is only for the Peking duck bao, I cannot speak on the rest of the food. It's a bit out of the way to drive, but if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stop by for some baos!

Happened to come in to check out the food hall and saw this place was fully seated so had to check it out. I've heard of Nom Wah of NY so was pretty excited for it. Located i the Resort at Summerlin, aka the old JW Marriot next to the Suncoast Casino. Parking is free and even has a parking garage, perfect for getting out of the triple digit LV heat. The menu is fairly basic and straight forward. I ordered an order of the shrimp dumplings, pork xlb and the veggie lo mein. The food was pretty good, the xlb wasn't as amazing as I would've expected but the shrimp dumplings were excellent. The xlb just didnt feel very hot so the juices didnt really pop and the top of the xlb was a bit dry. The filling is delicious though. The shrimp dumplings were nicely chewy and springy and fairly large and my favorite dish today was the lomein. Lots of veggie (mushroom, onion, carrots, and bean sprouts) and saucy and delicious. Noodles were well cooked as well. Id like to come back to try their scallion pancakes and their peking duck bao and wonton noodles next time. But the service was very slow, we waited a lot to get seated as there were a lot of uncleaned but now empty tables. And food took a bit of time to come out. And the tea served was just a teabag ( you do have selection of oolong, jasmine, red dragon) but the nozzle of the pot was so dirty. And instead of small cups , we got large coffee mugs. But overall the food was decent, the bar seating was nice , facing the open kitchen, seemed good for a quick bite and the menu was reasonable, given the crazy rising prices these days. The server and chefs were very nice and attentive as well,

Born and raised NYC girl so when I heard that the classic 105 year old first and oldest NY dim sum staple was opening a location right in Summerlin, I couldn't contain my excitement and eagerness to try it and I was not disappointed! Nom Wah has perfected approachable dim sum. Signature dumplings, creative buns, and Cantonese American classics are favorites. The restaurant features stand-alone tables and 12-seat counter-style seating with red barstools that evokes an old-school tea parlor, creating an intimate and nostalgic atmosphere that feels like a time capsule from Manhattan's Chinatown honoring their NYC roots. The servers and chefs were welcoming, service was expedient and everything was delicious. My absolute favorites were the Peking duck bao buns! Tender, shredded duck tucked into a soft bao. It might have been one of the most flavorful bites I've ever had. And my second favorite was the pork and shrimp siu mai which was served with an in the house-made dumpling sauce--a little salty, a little tangy, a little spicy, all perfectly umami. While the menu isn't extensive, the options and price points are spot on! I can't wait to visit again and try some of their other dishes!!

Shrimp Dumplings ( Har Gow ) and Turnips Cakes
    Lisa T.

An update to my previous review. I ordered Har Gow and Turnips Cakes to go. I think there are a lot of dimensions to dim sum. I have had old-school dim sum off the cart in several cities, mediocre dim sum from restaurants that said made it .....that I would never order again.......frozen dim sum from the Asian markets and Michelin star dim sum. All that being said, I again really liked the dim sum I had from Nom Wah. I had the Har Gow last time and I did appreciate having it again. This time I got the turnip cakes. I thought they were well constructed, well cooked and I liked the sauce that went with them. Dim sum can be polarizing. You may have some memory of a flavor that you're always trying to achieve again... And every single place is different. I enjoyed a lot of different flavors from many of the places that I visited. That doesn't make any preparation right or wrong, as long as you like it. I was still happy with the food from Nom Wah and I still recommend it. I also feel that they're using very good quality ingredients and I appreciate that! I added photos. I already took a few bites of the turnip cakes!

Shrimp Sui Mai... not huge by any means, but they are what they are.

Friends were visiting and had seen news about Nom Wah's opening online, so we made the trek up to the newly renamed Resort at Summerlin to give it a try. It had been a number of years since we had been there but the area where Nom Wah and a number of their other new restaurant concepts (Ai Pazzi, Pearls) is located is a tall ceiling, marble floor area that was a nice change from the cluttered feel in the casino. As many have noted, seating at the bar is very limited, although they have added 3 two-person tables in the area. We had 3 people and were not able to sit on the bar stools (although there was plenty of space when we went midweek during the day), so they helped us to sit at a few tables across the way that anyone eating at these restaurants can use.. but still provided table service. I must say that the service here is excellent and very attentive. I think the miss here for me is the limited menu. I think if I wasn't thinking I was going for dim sum, I would maybe have felt differently. And that's my suggestion to you, think about it as getting some chinese and asian-inspired food and you won't be wondering why they don't have char sui bao or cheung fun. We only had a few dishes as we were going to other places later, but the ones we had were fine, but nothing spectacular. The shrimp sui mai were maybe just a bit too salty, but otherwise were what you would expect. We also went to the turnip cake which is a fave of mine. Their twist is adding a layer of shoestring cut taro on the top and pan frying that to a crisp. While the turnip cake itself was nice, especially as you could make out pieces of the lo bok (daikon), the taro didn't bring a lot of flavor to the party. I think I was wanting more pan fry on the turnip cake part of it. We also tried the crispy chicken buns, which felt like a chicken katsu with a miso cream sauce on a fluffy steamed bao. Were all the components prepared properly.. yes.. did they make me want more.. not really. Maybe we should have gotten some of the pan fried dumplings or the har gow, but that wasn't what we felt. Oh and for those less adventurous in your group... they have fried rice or lo mein. For me, I'll stick with the places with chicken feet and potentially not as good service!

Yelp Review 2025 #244: A famous Chinese eatery from New York's Chinatown, Nom Wah opened a small space inside Rampart Casino. They only have 12 bar stools by the bar, and 2 tables for 2 people. A friend has been wanting to try Nom Wah so we went. Each spot by the bar has power outlets. Phone signal here is terrible so, connect to the Wi-Fi...or talk to each other I'm guessing due to their limited space, their menu is also limited. Only about a quarter of the New York menu made it to the Vegas menu. There are so many things that are good on the New York menu that surprisingly didn't make it to this location. But it saves you time and money traveling all the way to New York. Maybe, if they had a bigger space things would be different. Our server was friendly. The food came out quick. They got their mise en place making food prep and cooking much easier and faster. In turn, there's less wait for diners. The chefs would also chat with diners. Xiao Long Bao: Hot soup dumplings. Always a good idea. 5/5 Turnip Cake: Not the biggest fan of turnip cake. But my friend likes this. I want dim sum items that are meatier but that's a personal preference so I won't even rate this. Peking Duck Bao: Each bun is packed with lots of duck pieces. The sauce is nutty and creamy - not the usual hoisin or duck sauce. I wish the duck skin was crispier though. It has cucumber slices. Instead of green onions, they use cilantro. 4/5 Chicken Lo Mein: I haven't had lo Mein in years because it doesn't excite me but it doesn't give me comfort either. It's just there existing in every Chinese restaurant menu. You can choose whatever protein you want. We picked chicken. The chicken is breaded like a chicken katsu. 3/5 Pork and Shrimp Shumai: One of the most popular items at Nom Wah. It's a classic! 4/5 Scallion Pancake: Their version is thicker. But still tasty. 4/5 Tea: Hot tea options include oolong, jasmine green tea, and pu-erh. We got a pot of oolong, and a pot of jasmine. Super hot tea and tasted right - not the cheap kind. 5/5 Enjoy this place while it's still here.

Small spot with about 10 chairs or so. Bar style seating. Jessica was my server and she was absolutely nice. Food: Pork Soup Dumplings aka XLB $9 Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai - $9.50 The soup dumpling was served first. I was excited. It was steaming hot. I gently grabbed the dumpling but it was stuck to the paper. Errr the soup was all over. OK, so next one the wrap was very thin on the bottom. Third one broke amd the last one was fine. The soup lacked with the two that didn't stayed in tacked. It needed more flavor to me . I was disappointed and ai wasn't about to ask for them to remake it since I was on lunch. Next the siu mai is smaller than other spots I frequent. It was good and I asked for hot mustard so that it would have a little more flavor in it. I'll return again. Next time ill try the noodle soup.

Not worth at all. High prices for small portions and obscenely salty/greasy food. Soup dumplings have super flimsy dough that makes it impossible to pick them up without compromising it, and a few of them came already popped open. Their open kitchen layout also does them a massive disservice, as it exposes their biggest sin which is warming up blatantly frozen food right in front of you. Why they're so comfortable making it so obvious that their food is frozen is beyond me, but it certainly explains the subpar quality. Coming here in a party of 4 was a big mistake. Even though it sounded good on paper since their items come in 4s, they only have 12 bar seats. Rather than seating people as first come first serve, they seat whatever size party that best fits the seats they have available. This made no sense at all as there's no way in predicting the size of groups coming in later. This super inefficient strategy resulted in a bunch of single seats littered throughout their seating area, and they kept asking people in line if anyone came as a party of 1, which was predictably nobody. Consequently, while it took my party of 4 nearly 50 minutes to be seated, parties of 2-3 that came after us were whisked in far quicker even though I saw at least 2 instances where seating configurations could have allowed my group and groups behind us to be seated far more efficiently and quickly.

We came to Nom Wah on a Saturday late afternoon and were seated almost immediately -- which was a pleasant surprise given how small the restaurant is. Service was great from start to finish; our server was attentive and everything came out quickly. We ordered a good variety to try: shrimp dumpling, shrimp shumai, tofu bao, Peking duck bao, pork soup dumpling, lo mein, and fried rice. The dumplings and bao were the standouts -- flavorful, well-made, and felt authentically done with a modern twist. If you're coming here, I'd say skip the noodles and rice dishes -- they're not bad, just not as special as the rest of the menu. Focus on the dim sum side of things and you will be happy. The space itself is cute -- think old-school New York diner vibes with a modern edge. It's bright, stylish, and casual in a way that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. Overall, a great addition to the dim sum scene and one I'll definitely return to for the bao and dumplings!

Came here on a Sunday at 11am and was behind two groups. There were limited counter seatings so I already anticipated a wait, however, seating system seems inefficient. We were a group of 4 and there seems to always be empty seats of 2 or 3 so people behind us were able to sit before us. This wasn't a problem for us, but I noticed that for the 3 empty seats, instead of seating the group of 3 behind us, they seated a group of 2 behind them instead. I would've been annoyed if I were them. The staff was nice and kept us updated on wait time. Food was probably doubled the price of normal dim sum. The taste and execution did not justify that price point. The XLB skin already broke before we even touched them. It was also undercooked and a bit doughy. Trader Joe's microwaveable XLB is even better than this. All the other dishes were just as disappointing. Service was quick at least from the moment we sat down. Don't waste your money and time here.

Unfortunately, I have no idea why this was such a big deal coming to Vegas. It was by far the worse dim sum I've had in town. Waited for a group of 4 to be seated for 50min. Service was friendly & very quick once seated & food was served within a few minutes thankfully but food was so disappointing. - pork soup dumplings: all 4 came already broken at the bottom with no soup left - pork + shrimp shumai & shrimp dumpling: both bland and forgettable - chicken lo mein: so greasy, had difficulty finishing this - stuffed scallion pancake: I actually liked the crunch on the outside - turnip cake w/ taro crust: enjoyed the taro crust - pan fried chicken cabbage dumpling: quite oily Overall, food was lacking in flavor & heavy on the oil. Wait was quite long since they have about 12 spots at their bar. Sadly would not recommend this spot.

I was very excited as I was just in New York a few weeks ago and I missed going there. I rarely give low rating as I know it can effect people's business and I'm mindful of that. This is more of a public service announcement. Let me start by saying that the Service is absolutely wonderful. The young lady that helped us out was on point. Super friendly, very hospitable. Made our experience. Nice and let's get onto the food. I am amazed and dumbfounded. How do you think it would be OK to serve frozen dumplings, and just warm them up in front of us and we would be okay. The food locked flavor, incredibly bland, except for pancake, which was like eating cardboard, that was extra salty. To be honest, I've had better dumplings at Costco and Sam's Club. I understand. When Restaurant's from the East Coast come to Las Vegas they think it's a gold mine and it is. With that in mind, You have to bring your A game. (Which you did not) I have been to almost every noodle and dumpling shop in Las Vegas, and by far. This is the absolute worst. You guys should really reconsider what you're doing and the product you're putting out there. No one likes frozen dumplings unless you're getting them from Costco. Or at least prepare them in the back of the house. Not in front where we can see them coming out of the plastic wrapper. I will be back in a few months. If you guys are still open to give you another shot. I hope you can figure things out. Best of luck. Welcome to Las Vegas

It's new and understandable that it's busy. We weren't able to sit on the booth but ordered our food to go and sat at the tables near by. One of their managers were kind enough to give us some plates and utensils. The dumplings were very tasty, same for the wonton soup, shrimp siomai and their crispy duck buns (must try). I tried the turnips for the first time. It was good, didn't like it at first but I grew to like it even without the sauce. The place gave me the vibe of the dimsum booths growing up like in San Francisco. We definitely will come back and try the rest of the dumplings we didn't get to.

The veggies were well seasoned and still had a nice bite while being cooked through. Rice is typical Chinese rice that doesn't clump together (tasted fresh and that it was cooked that day too), and the tofu pudding was delicious (nice and silky with a sweet ginger syrup). Would love to come in-person next time to try their other dishes!

The pork is covered with thick batter. It is neither crispy nor flavorful. We also had the honey walnut shrimp. The shrimps were big but there's too much mayo on it. But I like that the shrimps lay on top of steamed broccoli. Also ordered Tofu with veggies dish which was decent. It's my first time here so I don't know whether it's a fluke or it's just a different chef, or the regular chef has an 'off' day. The place is really nice though with pretty tablecloths and nice chair covers. Service is good. But overall -- for a Chinese restaurant- it all boils down to the taste of the food. Maybe I'll give it another try in the future. We'll see.

They will ask for the party size and reply back with a number (ticket number) that you will talk to the host when you arrive. If the table is not ready yet, they will hand you the physical ticket number. I think it was maybe 5 minutes tops before we got seated, so while my group arrived and I parked, it was about time we got the table. There were maybe 100 people waiting outside, so do not be put off by it, as the restaurant is pretty huge, with a front room and back room. We got various dim sum, of course including har gow and siu mai. The dim sum quality here is pretty good, and I loved that they still do the push cart dim sum as most places abstracted that out in favor of standard paper menu ordering. It feels more traditional and you get to see the dim sum before committing to it. We got a bunch of dishes to share, and even ventured out of the ordinary including intestines and bell pepper shrimp paste, and even those are solid. It takes a while to flag down a server and requires multiple follow-ups to get what we need. We flagged down 5 separate times before finally getting iced water, which is unacceptable since while Chinese restaurants like these have poor service in inattentiveness, at least you get service quickly if you flag down someone. The only way we were able to get service is for me to talk to them in Cantonese, so when it is busy and you try to ask for something in English, forget it.

Not for everyone, but we liked it and mixing it with the congee helped bring more flavor to that dish. The siu mai was pretty good too. In total, a pretty good experience. I would come back and try other things next time.

It's airy, crispy, perfectly sweet, and soft all at the same time. I usually hate when BBQ buns have a strong porky taste, but this one didn't at all. The meat was tender and paired perfectly with the "pineapple-style" crust on the bun. You have to try this if you come here. We also got the radish cake, shumai, sticky rice in lotus leaf, shrimp rice rolls, and deep-fried shrimp-stuffed eggplant. Everything was good, but I especially loved the radish cake and the deep-fried eggplant with shrimp. The radish cake had such a great texture and a rich, savory flavor. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the chunks of meat paired so well with it. Easily one of the best radish cakes I've had at a dim sum place. I'd definitely recommend getting dim sum here, especially for the baked BBQ bun. It's worth the trip, and it's inside the Palm Casino, which offers free parking!

I started with the woodear mushrooms in vinegar, which I'm pretty sure boosted my immune system for the rest of the trip. I had a pretty colorful guest to sit next to me, but my server, Beth checked on me several times to make sure that I was OK. He ended up getting us a bottle of Demon slayer, one of the best sakes on the menu and definitely worth the price. If you're pescatarian like me, the cod dumplings are not to be missed. They don't have a seafood option for the Xi Long Bao but it was still great. I am glad that I was sat at night, because the view I would've had would've been the road, but the black glass makes it feel like pretty cute bar seating. The coolest part of the restaurant is that you can watch them making dumplings while you wait for your table! I would definitely come back again. Thanks to the whole aria staff for a great stay!

The AC in the place made our food super cold very fast. Within 10 min, you are eating refrigerator cold dumplings. I recommend making reservations if you don't want to wait. Ours was at 11 am and the line queue was already 30 ppl deep. The line moves fast and then you queue into another line. It feels like a lightning lane at Disneyland. Cleanliness needs improvement. There was particles of food left on one chopstick and another on a plate. Gross to say the least.

Finding the Real Deal: Dim Sumlicious is the Authentic Yum Cha Las Vegas Has Been Missing…read moreLas Vegas has no shortage of Chinese restaurants, but anyone who's grown up going to yum cha knows the difference between dim sum done right and dim sum done for tourists. I've been on a quiet, slightly obsessive hunt across this city for the genuine article -- the kind of Sunday morning experience that transports you straight to a bustling Hong Kong tea house. And friends, I found it. It's called Dim Sumlicious, and the name does not lie. The moment the first bamboo basket hit our table, I knew this was different. Dim Sumlicious has a chef with over 30 years of experience honing his craft in Hong Kong, and it shows in every single bite. This isn't the frozen-and-steamed shortcut situation you'll find at so many spots around town. These are handmade, skillfully executed classics that carry the weight of real tradition behind them. The har gow wrappers had that perfect translucent delicacy -- thin enough to see through, sturdy enough to hold. The siu mai were plump and properly seasoned. The char siu bao, both baked and steamed, hit every note I was hoping for. Cart after cart brought something worth ordering, and nothing disappointed. But beyond the food, what struck me about Dim Sumlicious was the atmosphere of care. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable -- a rarity in a city where restaurants can feel like they're processing customers on a conveyor belt. If you're a dim sum devotee who's been settling for "pretty good," your search is over. Dim Sumlicious is the real deal -- no asterisks, no caveats. Make a reservation, bring the whole family, and go hungry. Las Vegas finally has its yum cha moment. Don't sleep on it.
