The first time I ate here I dined in and was underwhelmed by both the service and food. I had a house salad and pasta and they were both just ok. Our server seemed to be struggling a bit that day. However, they had recently opened so I decided I'd come back at a later time. Today I ordered carryout. I ordered two caesar salads a il formaggio pizza with bacon, hot peppers, and peppers on as well as a margherita pizza. When I walked in, it was abnormally dark inside and a little loud but I was greeted quickly. The food was ready at the time they said. So no issues with a wait. The Caesar salads were delicious. The dressing was one of the best I had. My husband had the formaggio pizza and he said it was very good. I felt my pizza needed a bit more sauce and a bit less cheese but overall it had pretty decent flavor. I would go back solely for the Caesar salad, it was that good. read more

The first time my husband and I tried to test them out, there was not anything healthy on the menu for people who do not eat gluten and fried items. This time, we were pleased to see cauliflower crust pizza, so we decided to stay. My husband got a simple spaghetti and meatball entree. Having had a bad experience elsewhere with thick rubbery pasta, he confirmed with the server before ordering that a traditional spaghetti pasta would be used for the entrée. In fact, the noodles in his entree were fat round noodles that were hollow in the middle, making them extra doughy - exactly what my husband was trying to avoid. Meanwhile, I ordered a cauliflower pizza with pepperoni and veggies (onions, olives, sweet peppers, and green peppers). The server told me that pizza with cauliflower crust would be $3 more although 4 inches less in size. When it arrived, the crust was black. I immediately asked the waitress if it was supposed to look like that and she assured me that it was normal for cauliflower crust. Although I get cauliflower crust everywhere I go, I took her word for it and took a bite. It tasted like charcoal, not pizza. My knife would not even cut through the bottom of the crust it was so dry and overdone. I called the waitress over and told her that it tasted burnt. She said, "Sorry about that" and quickly walked off. She did not offer to bring over a manager. She did not offer to get me anything different. She did not offer to have it remade. I scraped the toppings off several pieces to make do because I was hungry, but the crust was so burnt that I could not eat it. At this point, we were eager to leave and asked for the bill. My 12-inch inedible black burnt pizza was $30. Although the base price was less, they charged me $2 to $3 each for the vegetable toppings. In the end, we spent $67 for a meal that was poor (spaghetti) to trash (pizza). We will definitely not be going back, unfortunately. read more

Was in town for a quick trip to visit family and we wanted to try something new for dinner. We drove around Leonardtown and came back to this spot. My Aunt has a severe shellfish allergy and this was the first time she could eat everything (minus the clams) off the menu without fear of cross contamination. We sat outside on their patio, which was perfect . We were greeted by Calvin and he was overall welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu with solid recommendations and was very attentive. We had the Chicken Parm (her) and I had the Chicken Marsala. Neither dish disappointed. The portions were perfect and the flavor was superb. I could have drank the Marsala sauce out of a cup, it was really THAT good. The pasta tasted so fresh, I would have sworn it was homemade. (We did ask and they are working on adding homemade pasta). We finished our meal with the cannoli and we were so glad we saved room for that dish. The only recommendation we would both have is that they offer fresh warm bread after they seat you. First time in was horrible. We had reservations and were seated just 10 minutes after our reservation time. (Not bad) but then I had to get up to get our silverware setup from the bar. The server never provided it for us. Our appetizer (bread with butter) came and we had no plates. Asked for and again neglected to bring. I got up and got them from the bar. The meal ordered a sausage dish that came with the wrong pasta. They served my chicken piccata with bucatini that had been cut - no twirling it and the butter splattered. The fried dough for dessert was raw in the middle. The food was placed on our table not all together and the dirty plates were never taken away. We had to stack them so we had room to eat. Went to this Italian Restaurant for lunch for Italian food. There is pizza and subs, there is not one noodle on the lunch menu, that we were given! The sub I had was The Italian Stallion...I get better "Italian subs" at Giant! Or better yet Subway! definitely not anything special! even the bread was ice cold... The lady waiting our table delivered me their French Fries, I told her I didn't order them she said "OK" then charged me for them? Well OK? Sadly, this is the first restaurant review I've ever wrote but I felt this needed to be addressed because our experience was beyond bad. Last Saturday, March 26th, we placed a carry-out order for (2) Steak and Cheese Subs with fries, one order was to be mayo, lettuce, hot peppers with provolone the other was mayo, lettuce, fried onions with provolone. I had the young lady who took our order over the phone repeat this back to me. What we got was BURNT steak (literally black) on a roll, no lettuce, both with white American cheese which I hate and the one with fried onions came with literally TWO small slices of onion. Needless to say, everything was thrown in the trash because the subs were inedible especially from the crunch of the burnt steak. Don't get me started on their THICK, GREASE FILLED, DISGUSTING fries. I understand restaurants are struggling but that's NO EXCUSE for a chef/cook/restaurant to send out un-edible food and take $30 from a customer for two subs without a thought... Shame on you. This experience was the worse Steak & Cheese and Fries we've ever had, and we've tried many. I don't think we'll be back. read more

While two of our three entrees were good, I am writing this review to document the poor customer service we received during dinner this evening. We were catching up with a good friend, who happens to be a long-time, well-respected doctor in Leonardtown. He recommended Noli's, since he had been before and thought the food was good. Everything was going fine, until our friend requested a side of pasta. The waitress asked if he wanted it for here or to go, and after some hesitation, he told her he wanted to eat it here because his chicken was undercooked. He had ordered the chicken franchese. He had taken a few bites of the chicken, realized it wasn't cooked fully, and then placed one of the pieces of chicken on top of the other, so he could eat the pasta. After eating the pasta, he was still hungry, which is why he requested some pasta marinara. The waitress advised that she would talk to the manager to get the chicken franchese taken off the bill and replaced with the pasta marinara (which is $8 cheaper). He ate the pasta marinara, and then we ordered dessert. My husband and I split an order of zeppole. My husband was born and grew up in Brooklyn, and I've had zeppole many times at the Feast of San Gennaro in NY. We definitely know how a zeppole should be made! The zeppole we received were a bit large and very under-cooked inside. We still ate most of it, however, and had no intention of even complaining about it. But...then we get the bill... Not only did they not remove the chicken franchese, but the waitress didn't even bother to explain why it wasn't removed. She just dropped off the bill; I suppose she was hoping we wouldn't realize it was still on there! When we questioned the charge, she said that her manager told her that our friend had eaten too much of the original entrée and therefore he refused to lower the charge to the cost of the pasta marinara. We asked to speak with him. When he came to the table, we could tell from the first sentence that he had a huge chip on his shoulder. He point blank said the chicken was not undercooked, which essentially equates to accusing our friend of lying!! He also said that our friend had eaten half the chicken. Now I know that this is untrue, because I saw the chicken before it was returned to the kitchen. Our friend had placed one piece on top of the other. Obviously, if the manager did not even notice this, then he couldn't have taken that close of a look at it! I have NEVER seen a manager of a restaurant accuse a patron and act as nasty as this manager did. And he acted this way to a repeat customer that had recommended we eat there! Needless to say, we will not return. For a business to treat someone like this, over a difference of $8, is absolutely nuts. We weren't looking for a free meal. We'd have been happy to pay for the pasta marinara. Because of his rudeness, we decided to go ahead and mention the issue with the zeppole and at first, he tried to defend and say they were cooked properly. But when I picked one up and showed him the inside, and my husband explained where he is from and how to properly cook them, the manager simply said thanks for the feedback and walked away. I am so appalled by his behavior that I'll certainly never return to this place. While the food was generally good (besides the undercooked chicken and zeppole), the attitude / customer service is reprehensible. read more

Good food, but way overpriced for what you get. Service was good. However they have very questionable business practices. My son used to work there until they fired him for no good reason. Noli's implemented a retroactive leave policy change after my son committed to a church function. Noli's didn't inform him until it was too late, and didn't care about the circumstances. So Noli's fired him via text message, for going to church!!! Noli's didn't have the guts, nor the courtesy, to do it face-to-face. I haven't given them any of my business ever since. read more

Our first visit to Noli's resulted in a delicious meal that we both brought home leftovers from the generous servings. We arrived early for the dinner hour and knew we were in for a treat. There was a food delivery person picking up at least five pizzas and two more meals for a single order. That's a good sign. We were seated promptly by a very personable host. Our server arrived promptly and led us through the menu. We shared an arancini appetizer and got a bread basket. The risotto in the arancini was tender but not mushy. The cook was nice and crisp on the exterior. The sauce was very well balanced and stood up to the rice. Our bread basket was fresh, hot and crusty. The accompanying dipping oil was delicious and could be a little more acidic but over very, very good. Then came the chicken Marsala and the pasta carbonara. Oh. My. Goodness! This Marsala sauce was far and away the best I have ever enjoyed. The depth of flavor and velvety sauce was amazing. Again, the portion means I'm getting a second meal out of that order. My partner's carbonara was similarity delightful, studded with prosciutto and so very, very good. Alas , there was zero room for dessert this trip, but we are looking forward to our next visit. We were there on a Saturday late afternoon. The wait to be seated was a little long, but not bad. The service was good and the food was excellent. I would recommend trying the place out; it's worth the price and truly good Italian food is at a premium in SOMD. The reason they have 4 stars instead of 5 is the dinning room. While they have obviously spent some time and money decorating, they have neglected two somethings that are very important especially in a place I would describe as 'cramped'. First, is that a small space like that with a bunch of people gets stuffy really fast if there is not adequate ventilation, and there isn't. So, the dinning room is kind of stuffy - not horrible, but they should consider that adult humans put off about 1500 BTUs each and heat up a room pretty fast. Some inexpensive and quiet vent fans would probably allow the HVAC system to keep up. Second, the dinning room is LOUD. With staff, patrons and kitchen noise it's like dinning on the inside of an acoustic guitar. Noise levels are THE most neglected item in room decor by nearly everyone. It's the difference between cozy and 'I can't hear myself think'. Do your customers a favor. Invest in some quiet fans and get some acoustically dampening wall hangings and art. It's no more expensive than what you have, and for few hundred dollars, it will change your dinning room from stuffy and oppressively loud to cozy and charming. Apparently, you got the food thing figured out, so now it's time to work on atmosphere. read more

Have been meaning to try this place since they opened and glad we did! I got the eggplant parmigiana (entree) and it was delicious! Thinly sliced, delightfully crispy eggplant with perfect seasoning, served over spaghetti with a clearly homemade and flavorful sauce. Generous portion and reasonable price. My dining companion had the baked ziti--huge portion, very good tomato sauce, and mozzarella. Again a reasonable price. The dining area is not large so it can fill up quickly. My first time there today (for lunch). The Guido sub was good and a lot of food. I am not a big French fry consumer, however, I did order them. They were great taste, texture and shape. Not a crumb left. My lunch companion had the Brooklyn pizza and was very satisfied. Good flavor, good crust. Lydia was very attentive to our dining experience. Although it is not a huge dining room, it is very comfortable. In some restaurants I feel like a sardine in a can. Not so here. I am planning on returning for supper there soon to enjoy some of the other menu choices. read more

The grease pooled up on pizza so much so we had to take napkins to soak it up before we could eat. Sauce was definitely on the bland side. Hoping they get better . . . soon. While this location is brand new (I appear to be the first reviewer), it is off to a poor start. I visited on a Sat night, when most restaurants ensure they have the best staff. I was disappointed that the service was poor and the food varied from marginal to very poor. I knew we were in trouble when I watched the faces of patrons in nearby tables - there were no smiles. We waited over 10 minutes to see our waitress for the first time to get our drink order - in that time, we saw 2 other tables seated and served their drinks. The bartender took care of one of them and came to our table saying that she would check on our waitress. I wish she had taken our drink order AND THEN looked for our waitress. Our waitress fumbled at every step and seemed to get help from only one other person - the hostess who appeared to the be the only person who cared. Our dinners were served with huge delays making the meal a disaster. My entree came immediately after the appetizers - even before the sauce for the appetizer. The 2nd entree was a pizza that came almost 15 min later and it arrived without a serving utensil. The final entree had obviously been forgotten when the waitress asked if we wanted another plate to share the entrees already on the table. The first entree was Chicken Parmigiana - it looked good but was largely tasteless. The pizza was next and had a crust so burnt it was impossible to enjoy. The 3rd entree was a pasta dish with bacon that simply lacked flavor. My family loves southern Italian food and jump to anyplace that offers this kind of menu. It felt like a crime to leave so much food on our plates when we left, but we simply didn't enjoy anything. What made this visit so disappointing was that no one seemed to be in-charge or taking any responsibility except for the young hostess. I do not demand that a manager make an obligatory table-check - that comes across as a trite action in many chains. I did expect to see someone guiding the staff or taking over when something had gone wrong. The hostess and bartender both saw that we were having a terrible experience, yet there was no communication or apology from anyone except the hostess which seemed heartfelt and I appreciated. I hope this place improves - I would like to come back but I'm not sure what will convince me. read more

We love it with their homemade marina sauce. We have tried The pork chop madeira, so tender and tasty, eggplant parmigina, so good! nonna's combo, the sauce is like my grandmother's, sausage alla sinatra, (my husband;s favorite), and the chicken francese, (my favorite) , the chicken is cooked juicy and tender, and the tang of the lemon makes my mouth water. I like to get it with brocollini or the Italian baby roast potato's. Every meal we have had here is wonderful. read more
