This gym is fantastic! The first test of fitness is getting through the front door because that…read moredarn door takes so much force to push through! Anyways, once you are past that, it feels like stepping back in time--but with upgraded amenities and machines, of course. But I just absolutely adore the historic atmosphere. There are antique weights in a mini-museum in one of the large fitness rooms, the walls lined with vintage gym bro photos (I didn't see any muscle mamis tho...), and even a crystal chandelier! But like I mentioned, the amenities are all updated. There's a good-sized pool, both a sauna and steam room, and a nice sized locker room. The locker room has a bathing suit dryer! My favorite surprise was the cafe/lounge/bar area that's suitable for working, studying, reading, etc. They even have a women-only machine room--love that thoughtful, inclusive touch. You know what New Orleans doesn't have enough of? Tracks. Luckily, NOAC has an indoor track for those who don't like treadmills. They also have a jam-packed group fitness schedule that included improv and acting classes on Wednesday nights--where else do you find that at a gym?! It's probably an extra fee though. They have a Pilates reformer studio that isn't included in membership, apparently. Although it's in the quarter/downtown, they have plenty of nearby parking lots for members. I came on a buddy pass (you only get 6 a year), but my friend mentioned that members can bring their spouses for free on weekends. Only small downside: towels cost $1.50, but honestly, just bring your own. I am so tempted to join!

5 Stars "This place is like stepping into a fitness time…read moremachine -- in the BEST way!" I loved working out here! The New Orleans Athletic Club isn't just a gym -- it's a whole vibe. From the second you walk in, it feels like old-school charm meets modern-day motivation. The building itself is gorgeous -- think chandeliers, brick walls, and history dripping from every dumbbell. The weight room? Massive. The cardio section? Plenty of options. The pool? Stunning and feels like something Gatsby would've done laps in. And don't even get me started on the boxing ring -- I half-expected to see Rocky training in the corner. There's even a Turkish bath. Yes, a Turkish bath -- where else are you gonna find that? The people were super friendly, and there was this kind of unspoken camaraderie in the air -- everyone's working hard but also vibing with the beauty of the space. I got a killer workout and a mini history tour all in one. If you're in New Orleans and want to sweat in style -- this is the spot. 10/10 will be back (probably sore but smiling).

Spent over 30 minutes on the phone trying to fix their mistake, including being offered a "comped" massage--even though I had already booked a massage and a pedicure. After finally agreeing on a new time, the confirmation came through incorrectly again. When I called back, I was told that option didn't work either. At that point, I canceled. Multiple errors, poor communication, and zero sense of hospitality. If you want a smooth, relaxing spa experience, look elsewhere. Ritz-Carlton is consistently better.

My massage was not as deep as I wished but it was relaxing. There is an area that you can relax between treatments where you can hang out. They had little tea sandwiches, tea and cookies. You can also use the pool while you're there and that is wonderful! We wore our spa robes and sat on the deck since it was a little cold. In the women's bathroom there are a lot of fancy hair products which I appreciated. Overall though, I will probably try somewhere else the next time we want a fancy spa day.

I absolutely adored my experience at the Ritz Spa and I think everyone deserves to treat themselves…read moreto this 5 star luxury at least once! The amenities in the lounge area of the spa are amazing. My favorite room was the steam room with essential oils. It's like you are stepping into another dimension of tranquility as you detox the day away and take in the invigorating scents. They also had a dry sauna, a pool, and extremely neat and clean changing room/locker room and shower area. They have everything you need in there from tooth brushes, tooth paste, mouth wash, cotton swabs, face toilettes, etc. My favorite surprise was the ice cold face towels for after a session in the dry sauna. I received the hot stone massage and nourish glow treatment and was absolutely blown away. I wish I could remember the name of my masseuse, but I know he's on my account. I will be requesting him every time! That was the best massage of my life and I certainly was glowing! I was not expecting the skilled massage because in luxury hotels, the spa treatment tends to focus on the experience more than anything, so to have a luxurious experience and therapeutic massage made this my favorite spa experience thus far. They have an area next to the gift shop that offers food and snacks. This was closed by the time I was finished with my appointment because it was later in the day, but I was shocked to see this offered. They offer a discount to locals on certain days of the week as well!

I recently treated myself to a day at the Ritz-Carlton Spa, and it was a truly lovely experience…read more From the moment I arrived, the staff proved why their reputation for service is well-earned. Exceptional Service The highlights started before the massage even began. I realized I'd left my phone in my car, and the valet went above and beyond to retrieve it and bring it directly to me in the spa. Every team member I encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely friendly. The Treatment I booked a 100-minute Light Swedish Massage, and it was absolute bliss. The Scent: The essential oils were high-quality and smelled fabulous. The Enhancements: I opted for the CBD add-on and pain-relieving oils--well worth the extra cost for the added relaxation. Pro-Tip: Choose Your Appointment Wisely One thing to note when booking: there are two options--one that includes a facility tour and one that is mostly self-guided. My Mistake: I chose the self-guided option. Since it had been a while since my last visit, I found myself a bit lost navigating the locker rooms and amenities. Next time, I'll definitely sign up for the guided tour to get my bearings! Post-Spa Pampering After the treatment, I rehydrated with some refreshing watermelon-infused chilled water before heading to The Davenport Lounge. Capping off the afternoon with charcuterie and champagne was the perfect "after-spa" treat. Verdict: Aside from my own confusion navigating the spa, it was a wonderful day. I'll be back--but I'm taking the tour next time!

This was my first visit, but definitely will not be my last!…read more Float Nola is located in an area with ample parking. I visited on the weekend, so parking was free. It is appointment only. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Cecil. He was very friendly and informative. The establishment immediately soothed me with it's peaceful aura. I visited for the flotation pod. I was then set up with the float room. He explained the flotation process and set proper expectations. The flotation experience was super relaxing. I was able to meditate the entire time and left feeling like I lost weight. It is a very relaxing experience. They offer many other services, such as massages. I look forward to visiting again to try out their massages. I also look forward to more flotation experiences.

The massage was okay but really does not compare two other places I've been. The reflexology was just flat out painful as his nails were long and sharp at the edges and digging into my foot. My granddaughter said the exact same thing. Most places I go have a little basket in the room where you can leave a tip. As I did not see one in either room I was about to ask about that when the massage practitioner actively and rather pointedly requested a gratuity. I thought this was incredibly tacky but as I had every intensive leaving when I had asked him if he could take my debit card since I had run out of the house with only a small amount of cash. He said he could take it but it was a lot of work because he had to log in and put in my information and wanted me to do venmo. I explained to him that I have been having issues with venmo as my credit union does not allow it. He pushed for the venmo route so I stood there at the front desk trying to fight with the stupid app. I had to use an actual credit card, but then find out that I would be charged a fee for going that route as the venmo account is not listed as a business. I told him I would need to wait until I got home to get it set up with the routing and account number at which point he decided that it was not a problem for him to log in and take my credit card. By that point I was so annoyed that I told him no that I would be home shortly and will take care of it at that point. His behavior was in such poor taste that it ended our afternoon on a rather sour note. Had he not tackedlessly asked for the tip and been willing to take my debit card as I originally offered without wanting me to jump through hoops so that he could get his money faster I would have left a much more generous tip but at that point I was very tempted not to leave one at all but for the fact that the woman who did the facial was lovely. I had a friend who was anxious to hear how we liked it as she was interested in booking an appointment but at this point I truly could not recommend them.
