I've been going to Dr. Archer for a few years now and I have nothing but good things to say about the practice. The staff is friendly and Dr. Archer is personable but fast. You will not be in the office for long. Love the location on Canal street, the office is clean and decorated with New Orleans Artwork. They take my insurance so I only have to pay my co-pay. I recommend calling before hand to make an appointment but they do take walk-ins. Also, they have massage therapists on staff, a great service for your body pain. They always send a 50% of your massage coupon for your birthday, I recommend taking full advance of this discount. Note: the office is only opened Monday- Thursday so plan accordingly. read more

The only way they could be worse is if they actually shot you when you walked in the door. I am in constant, chronic pain and The Veterans Administration hospital referred me to them. No matter how early I arrived for my appointment, I was left sitting for 30+mins. The doctor does nothing but puts you on a table that moves your legs up and down to allegedly "decompress the spine" and then they shuttle you to a TIMS chair for electric stimulus and then on out the door, of course to absolutely zero effect. I wasn't actually going to do this review but was encouraged to do it to warn off any other Veterans actually looking for pain relief. These people are thieves gaming the government contract/VA Community Care system, collecting money from the government while hardly any true service/treatment is provided. read more

having just moved to new orleans from london uk, i took the recommendation of my uptown art installer for a chiropractor. to my disappointment dr archer's office was nothing but disappointing. though his reception staff seems capable, they quickly usher clients to a back room that is overrun with patients awaiting service. while some are placed onto public massage tables, four clients deep, others are relegated to a row of chairs in a bathroom hallway and left to sit, and wait, and pace, and tap fingers until near an hour has gone by and one still has not been seen by the doctor. no "sorry we are running late`' no `'apologies for the wait`' no `' the doctor will see you soon`'. NOTHING. i feel i am always very aware that every person's time has value, which is why i show up on time and ready for my appointments. but what about the value of we, the client's time. MY TIME HAS VALUE. i sat 50 minutes past my appointment time, waiting to see the doctor and not once did anyone, including dr archer ( who walked past me and ignored me several times) address my extraordinary wait. i finally got up and informed reception that i had still not been seen and i was leaving. i've no idea how there are so many positive reviews as there were several other patients waiting as long as myself. i suppose people in new orleans perhaps view it as "nola time" when service is unacceptable and schedules run quite late, but i find that a lazy excuse, especially in the medical field. shame on you for having so little regard for your clients. i will not be returning and i will definitely be letting friends and neighbours know not to support dr archer's practice. read more

I suffered for over five years with chronic pain in my neck and arm after a fracture, which months and YEARS of physical therapy, traditional medicine, massage, and even other chiropractors did little to alleviate. After being a patient of Dr. Archer for about three months, the pain is almost completely resolved. My quality of life is vastly improved thanks to him! It's over $50 for an adjustment if you have insurance and you are at the mercy of street parking on Canal Street at their new location. The doctor is fine and the wait times aren't bad, but it's nothing special for the high price and the hassle of parking. I was able to get in to see Dr. Archer via an email inquiry on Sunday evening. I received a call Monday had an appointment Tuesday. Dr. Archer and staff were wonderful. The receptionist was very friendly and attentive. Dr. Archer was quick to determine the cause of my pain. His treatment allowed me to sleep soundly that night which I had not been doing for the last few weeks. Today I returned for a therapeutic massage from Dan. I thought I was going to melt from the muscular release. I'm very pleased with the services provided, the speed in which I was able to be seen, the staff attentive behavior and the office itself is quite beautiful. No, no, no, no, no. I don't know why this place has so many great reviews because the three other people I know who've gone here all agree that it's terrible. The customer service is horrendous. They treat patients like they're on a conveyor belt, in and out as fast as possible then collecting their money and pushing them out the door. Dr. Archer spends less than five minutes with you, but you'll wait over an hour to see him because he doesn't take appointments so it's just a madhouse waiting room. It's clear he's only in it for the money, not to help people. He also runs an Airbnb rental out of the building which is just awkward. The last time I visited I waited over two hours and he hurt my neck so badly it took a week to recover. I've had amazing chiropractors over the years but he made me quit going to chiropractors forever. I no longer believe in the practice anymore. One bad apple spoiled the bunch. read more

I recently had to find a new chiropractor since my insurance changed and my old guy doesn't take Cigna. I basically chose Dr. Archer because it's convenient to where I live and work but there is also ample street parking and it's right on the streetcar line. I really lucked out using my very scientific method of selection, the office has great ergonomic chairs, Ms. Karen at the front desk is so sweet and there are tons of good magazines to read, not that I've ever waited long enough to read any. I hate going to doctors' offices with crappy magazines. Anyway, Dr. Archer fixed me all up and gave me a gel pack that stays soft even when it's frozen, plus a beer coozie and who doesn't like freebies? I know I do! Dr. Archer is able to pop my back which a few other chiropractors haven't been able to. Sometimes I sleep oddly, with my neck misaligned or my shoulders curled (humped over) and wake up in horrific pain. I'm a tall guy, so some force is needed to push down to alleviate my pain/adjust me. I appreciate they take walk-ins, and pretty quickly because this issue isn't something that is planned. For those that mention there is only street parking, there is a parking lot behind the building for 4 or 5 vehicles.
