My daughter recommended the Spa Atlantis for me as part of my relaxation trip. The Spa is a few minutes walk from the hotel and the directions were pretty straightforward. At the entrance, I was greeted by Poseidon and then by Dottie, who warmly welcomed me. After completing my intake form, I took in the ambience of the spa. The building has definitely been standing for quite some time due to the brick facade. It was a pleasant surprise to see Venus in the seating courtyard. My masseuse was Angie and she was incredible! There were muscles that I haven't felt in a long time !!. She was so patient and understanding as I became familiar with the space. We used Spa Atlantis in New Orleans for my daughter's wedding. They did my daughter's hair, the maid of honor's hair and makeup, and my hair and makeup. The location was convenient to our hotel, and they were able to accommodate multiple people at the same time, which was helpful on a busy wedding day. My daughter's hair turned out as she wanted (a simple, smooth bun) which was the highlight of the experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The makeup was decent and looked fine in photos, but it was not as natural as I would have liked. Unfortunately, there were some challenges. I waited more than 30 minutes past my appointment time on a day when timing was critical. While they did offer a 10% discount for the delay, the lost time was far more stressful than the discount was helpful. The hair updos were fairly average, and the services overall took longer than expected. My hair did not stay in place throughout the evening, which was disappointing, and I would likely style it myself if given the choice again. Overall, Spa Atlantis was convenient and pleasant, but future bridal parties should plan for extra time and manage expectations regarding styling and makeup. read more

The price I paid for my pedicure was extremely fair as was what my friend paid for her manicure. I would absolutely come back here! My only gripe is that when you book online, they ask you to put in a credit card. I assumed this was when I paid but it turns out this card is only held for those who leave without checking out and to assess cancellation fees. I wish this was made more clear as a few of my friends just departed without checking out and the staff called them later in the day to pay their bill. I found Spa Atlantis on Yelp and was able to book an appointment with ease and was elated that I was able to squeeze in an appointment! Daisy did my makeup and I love how she was able to give me the glam I was hoping for, yet keep it soft and elegant. She tells you each step she makes and let's you know how the technique will bring everything together. Dominique did an excellent job with my updo. The girl was fast with a curling iron and I have super thick hair!!! I was very impressed how tight she got the curls and since she knew how late I would be out this evening she prepared me that the curls will let go but still have a lot of bounce. I visited Spa Atlantis while on vacation in New Orleans in June 2021 and had a fabulous experience! I'd hit Bourbon Street hard the night before, so I needed some pampering. They took me upstairs, and I got changed into a wonderfully plush robe. Had a facial with Sami first, and she asked a lot of thoughtful questions about my skin. My skin was soft for days afterwards! Then had a massage from Brad. I'm new to massages, and Brad took that into consideration for the amount of pressure. He focused on my back as requested, then I asked him to also hit my legs which he did. It was just the right amount of pressure and very relaxing. Unfortunately, I didn't know getting a massage when you're hungover is a bad idea haha! I felt so dizzy afterwards when I went downstairs to see Monica for my manicure and pedicure. She and another woman took such good care of me. I told them I was dizzy, and they gave me some orange juice and water and pampered me :) They were so kind! Monica was absolutely great and my favorite person at Spa Atlantis! Normally, I hate the small talk while getting my nails done, but she was so down to earth and hilarious! She did a fabulous job on my black French manicure and spa pedicure and even touched up my nails about a billion times cause I was so clumsy! Since I have a very bold blue color it's not always easy to find people who handle it well; they did a fantastic job. It wasn't the cheapest but they had a slot when I needed it. I chose Karen based on no information - she was one of a few people available. I decided to go for a marathon session of 80 min of deep tissue massage plus an additional foot treatment. (I will say that for the price, I think it should have been 90 min, but still...read on). I've had many massages over the years - some really good ones and some forgettable ones. I even dated a woman who taught at the Swedish massage institute in NYC. This was the best massage I can remember. Ever. The ambience was just right. No overpowering music all over the spa (like in the Portland OR place I went to recently). No over the top revitalization vibes. No upsell on ...anything. But they managed to find a way for me to get the time I needed even though I scheduled it 2 hours in advance. The room I was in was quiet, lit just right, and smelled lovely without being too much. Karen was warm and friendly but quiet when I quickly fell into La La land. And at the end, I felt the way you want to feel at the end of any massage. And despite my comment about about the amount of time - it felt like enough. Every massage ends too soon - but somehow, this was so well done that I didn't feel that little bit of disappointment when it ended . That says it all. Spa Atlantis was my very first spa experience. Planned a week long trip in NOLA for my birthday. Spent roughly 3 days completing volunteer service with a local non profit, and the work was construction based. I figured a spa day would be a great reward / birthday gift to myself! Was welcomed warmly immediately upon my entering, and offered a beverage. I feel so bad, I do not remember the name of the person who gave me my massage (email says Alison, but for some reason I believe the name is Leslie). She assured me that I was free to direct her movements. I was a newbie and wanted to feel a little bit of everything. Simply put, the massage felt really good. Cathy did my facial, AH-mazing. She thoroughly explained each step, each product and what its function / purpose was. She made a few recommendations on routine skin care. In terms of ambiance, aroma, atmosphere there's no comparison. Spa Atlantis was very loud and too bright. I prefer a spa that's dim. All of the windows were open and I just can't relax in that environment. Making an appointment was easy enough even though you have to call them on the phone to book a couples massage. The massage was nice but I feel that the environment had me very tense. Also, the locker rooms have a basket of sandals all together and just robes hung around that you grab. It didn't seem like it was sanitary so that was bothering me as well. read more

He really cares about his guests & his staff & I am looking forward to giving his business another chance. I believe he is addressing my experience directly & that his staff knows he cares about them and they will rise to the occasion to do better. I was happily astonished with his response, he definitely understands customer service. His staff and the community as a whole is lucky to have him. *Disappointing experience. I arrived 30 minutes early for the experience of relaxing in spa robe in the lounge, sipping champagne. I was served champagne, in the lobby listening to staff drama about a marble delivery gone wrong. I figured with covid, they weren't doing robes - but when I was escorted upstairs 3 minutes prior to service, there were several other guests relaxing on couches in robes. I mentioned to the woman who brought me upstairs that I was looking forward to that part of the experience. She said they only give robes to people who book multiple services. Though the guest she brought up same time as me had 3 services confirmed, and also wanted the robe relaxation experience, was still in street clothes and was also disappointed. The treatment room was chilly. The therapist lacked confidence & skill. I told her the whole left side of my body had a lot of tension. She spent the first part of the massage on the right side of my back. I wanted to say something, but realized she was following her routine. I could have used more pressure, and said so one time, and tried to offer encouragement when she did something well. I believe she did her best, but her skill level is not up to this pricing scale. She did not wash her hands prior to starting, or after finishing. She left wet towels in the sink. The Pandora was interrupted 2 times during the session for other users signing on (not on her - but goes to overall effect) Physically I feel better than when I went in, this was my first massage in a year & I needed it. But I could have gone to any street massage place for this level of service & pampering. I was looking for an upscale experience, Spa Atlantis did not deliver. When I checked out I was asked how it was. I said it was "only ok" and the gal shrugged and said "ya" and did not ask for any elaboration, she was not interested in any of my comments.
