    Horrible gel manicure.
    Irene H.

Horrible gel manicure. Didn't cut my nails to the length I wanted, only trimmed cuticles on a few fingers, the polish was uneven and the manicure did not last a week. Definitely not worth the $65 paid, will not be back. Photo is from the day my nails were done.

I was in town for a week on business and had a day where I could not leave downtown due to time constraints. I called the spa and they had an opening that afternoon that worked perfect with my schedule. I booked an hour full body massage. When I arrived early I was greeted warmly and handed a strawberry and cucumber infused water and a glass of champagne...so they instantly worked a positive review on that note! Lol The only reason I didn't provide 5 stars is they did not ask me if I was ok with a male massage therapist. So I was surprised when I went into the room with a man. HOWEVER....ask for Jamal if you go in for a massage! The man is skilled and does an amazing job. He is also super sweet and a great conversationalist. I enjoyed my time there and recommend highly.

I had won a raffle on Facebook and got a Gift card to Spa Aria! The full package, 1hr massage, custom facial, mani and pedi! Upon arriving they sent me straight the bathroom Which is also a room for your belongings in locked lockers which you carry the key! Also there a robe, slippers, & a towel waiting for you if you wanted to shower after! Let me say!!! I had the best experience! I was relaxed the whole entire time. From start to finish everything was excellent! Definitely will be back!

This spa has a nice, relaxing atmosphere and is on the second floor of a very pretty, historic hotel. My daughter and I went in for shellac manicures, our first time ever trying shellac. Both our manicurists (Millie and Maria) did a great job on shaping our nails, and the application was precise. We loved our nails when they were done, and couldn't stop looking at them. They were so shiny. You do have to put your nails under UV light, but there is no actual drying time, which was really different. No danger of smudging them as you walk out the door. At $50, it's a pricey manicure. I believe it's expensive for two reasons. First because it's located in a tourist town in a hotel. That right there makes any spa service higher. And second, with a shellac manicure it lasts much longer. I waited to see how long my nails would last before writing my review. The verdict: 3 weeks! And not because they were chipping. I had to take off the polish because my nails were growing out and it was starting to lift up a little bit. But 3 weeks was impressive, especially since I did a lot of housework and organizing during that time. While I hung out on the special heated chairpad, my daughter was taken to a back room to get her brows waxed (unfortunately I don't remember the name of the technician, but she was very friendly). Her brows looked amazing! Because she had a lot of irritation under her brows (and has had this in the past with waxing), the girl had her lay down and put a special mask on her eyes, which was a nice touch. It's definitely more luxurious than a brow wax at a typical salon. However, the price does reflect that as well, at $25. Although my daughter's skin was very irritated, this had nothing to do with the spa, and the service was excellent. I'd recommend this spa if you're willing to spend a little more and like a more peaceful atmosphere than a busy salon. It's also conveniently located in the French quarter.

I HAVE A FREAKISH OBSESSION WITH SPA SLIPPERS - these rank a C-, the brown color is kinda unsavory.

A FOREBODING OMEN: CREEPY SPA SHOES The second thing I absolutely knew when planning my 5-day staycation (#1 was that I would only stay at the Monteleone) was that I'd treat myself to a massage, facial and pedi. At my hotel, Spa Aria resides an 8 second elevator ride to the Mezzanine. And while I enjoyed my experience (the $200 "gentleman's package") I've had more intense and thorough treatments (e.g. I missed the paraffin wax for the feet, and a deeper tissue massage would have been nice). Regardless, a great experience.

I've been a client of Mandy's since 2016 and I am SO fortunate I found her. Mandy is the real deal…read moreand has become a good friend over the years. She has truly TRANSFORMED my skin and because of her, I was able to get my confidence back. Initially, when I came to her, I had the WORST breakout of my life. Cystic, blackhead, whitehead, you name it (pictured below). I had it all. The breakout lasted over a several month period before I saw her (approx. 3 months or more) and showed no signs of stopping, just getting worse. At the time, I was a sophomore in college and this gave me extreme social anxiety and insecurity as I was worried that people were constantly looking at my acne and not my face. Looks definitely don't mean everything to me, but I was tired of other people being so distracted by my face that they were treating differently. It was a very challenging time for me, but luckily my mom found this exact Yelp page when she was doing research and so we agreed to try her out. I was at the end of my rope -- so ready to give up and just accept the infected, acne-ridden skin I had. I didn't think it was possible to change it. I originally didn't have high expectations when I first saw her and I thought that this was going to be a dud, like all of my other efforts had been to fix my skin. Prior to Mandy, I had a dermatologist, had been on at least 3 different acne medications, including Acutane (many of which actually made me physically sick or ill -- almost hospitalized) as well as having tried so many face washes and masks that I truly thought that I was maybe cursed with acne for life. Since day one, Mandy has been kind, compassionate and extremely helpful when assisting me with my skin. I go see her anytime I possibly can to get my skin treated or when I have a question about a new product or skin regimen. I trust her 110% and she has more than delivered, over and over again. She treats all of her clients with the utmost professionalism and care, as well as personalizes her care to YOUR specific skin. Over the summer in college, when I went back to California, Mandy also did research for me and temporarily referred me to an acne specialist she trusted. In the meantime before I got back, they helped me. I have never gone back to anyone else about my skin -- not even a dermatologist -- because I have never needed to. Mandy knows her stuff and I have been able to fix my acne problem just with her. My face is living proof that what she does works. It might as well be magic to me, because I couldn't have done it by myself. All of the time and investment I've spent on my skin with her has been totally worth it and I would do it again if I ever needed to. Today, I still have acne trouble, but that is mostly due to hormones. Either way, Mandy has been there by my side to help me figure it out and make it manageable. Soon, I'm going to be working on clearing up my acne scars with her and I can't wait. Thank you Mandy, for all you have done for me and so many others!! You are not only changing skin but changing lives.

As I did not see one in either room I was about to ask about that when the massage practitioner actively and rather pointedly requested a gratuity. I thought this was incredibly tacky but as I had every intensive leaving when I had asked him if he could take my debit card since I had run out of the house with only a small amount of cash. He said he could take it but it was a lot of work because he had to log in and put in my information and wanted me to do venmo. I explained to him that I have been having issues with venmo as my credit union does not allow it. He pushed for the venmo route so I stood there at the front desk trying to fight with the stupid app. I had to use an actual credit card, but then find out that I would be charged a fee for going that route as the venmo account is not listed as a business. I told him I would need to wait until I got home to get it set up with the routing and account number at which point he decided that it was not a problem for him to log in and take my credit card. By that point I was so annoyed that I told him no that I would be home shortly and will take care of it at that point. His behavior was in such poor taste that it ended our afternoon on a rather sour note. Had he not tackedlessly asked for the tip and been willing to take my debit card as I originally offered without wanting me to jump through hoops so that he could get his money faster I would have left a much more generous tip but at that point I was very tempted not to leave one at all but for the fact that the woman who did the facial was lovely. I had a friend who was anxious to hear how we liked it as she was interested in booking an appointment but at this point I truly could not recommend them.
