Convenient online booking and Christopher was able to accommodate a last minute request as I was traveling and my shoulders felt tight and a massage was needed. The reception team was absolutely amazing and fantastic. The massage therapist herself is why I rated it two stars. This was probably the worst massage I've ever had. She was nice but I'm not sure she's experienced or was not happy with a 24 hour notice for a massage. Her hands were calloused and rough. She kept whispering to herself the entire time. That was interesting and distracting. She didn't focus on getting the knots out. I have had plenty of massages and know my stuff. This therapist didn't introduce herself so not sure who I had but it wasn't great. I know she could feel the knots as she would hesitate and then move on. Pretty disappointed in my experience. Spa is located in French quarter in beautiful old Monteleone hotel. It's on second floor ( mezzanine level) a bit confusing to find it but look for the signs says spa Aria. It is not very big overall, has narrow hallways and small rooms. When you first get in there's waiting area with small sectional and a chair, it's nicely decorated, there's water fountain in the back so you can hear water bubbling. After we checked in we sat down to fill out the paperwork and were offered strawberry infused water that came in plastic cups. In a few mins two ladies in bathrobes joined us in the sitting area to wait for their service too. It was a bit weird that they do not have second area for clients that are changed into bathrobes and in between services to wait in privacy. I booked 60min massage and my technician was Emmy. She was very good, professional and always checking if pressure was right! I would definitely go back to see her. She listened to what I said and which area I would like her to focus on and I think I got one of the best foot massages so far. I've been going to Spa Aria for many years because I love the convenient location to my house, the welcoming atmosphere, the variety and reasonable pricing of their services, and of course, the staff. My favorite option is to indulge in one of their spa packages, so I can enjoy some head-to-toe pampering. I've never experienced a bad treatment here. You will definitely walk out feeling much more relaxed than when you entered. They also carry several solid lines of skincare products that are available for purchase. And, I just love their strawberry water! My recent massage was with Jamal and it was probably the best massage I've ever had. I'm a conference planner and had just returned from our annual conference, so I was definitely all knotted-up. I loved that he mixed stretching in with the massage to help me relax further. When I arrived early I was greeted warmly and handed a strawberry and cucumber infused water and a glass of champagne...so they instantly worked a positive review on that note! This spa was cute but it didn't feel private enough for me. The prices were what got me in the door but I have to be honest, It just wasn't enough. The staff was ok. There is no real waiting area for transitioning from one service to the next. Waiting in my robe next to the manicure table is a NO for me. also waiting in the same area with customers walking in was weird for me because I was naked under the robe so I just felt like there should've been been a different area to wait once you're changed and services have begun. My massage was just ok. Felt more like a rub down. Pressure wasn't firm at all. Maybe her hands were too small. I had a facial that was super fast. Not worth the money in my opinion. The locker room is not really a locker room. It's a bathroom with lockers. I could go on but I won't. I wouldn't go back. Again this is just my opinion. My husband and I booked a couple's massage and facial for our honeymoon weeks in advance. We called the morning of to confirm that everything was good to go (they called us the day before to confirm but we were on a plane and couldn't answer) and were first told that our reservation was nowhere to be found. We were then told that they could only find a massage for one person and no facial. We were told that the woman who originally booked us was training and was responsible for the mishap. Lance, which is who we talked to, was extremely rude and hung up on us when we asked him to look for other days to get our full requested services. Who knows how the quality of massages are, but I am aghast at how inhospitable the people running this business were. If you want to relax, go elsewhere. ... This spa has a nice, relaxing atmosphere and is on the second floor of a very pretty, historic hotel. My daughter and I went in for shellac manicures, our first time ever trying shellac. Both our manicurists (Millie and Maria) did a great job on shaping our nails, and the application was precise. We loved our nails when they were done, and couldn't stop looking at them. They were so shiny. You do have to put your nails under UV light, but there is no actual drying time, which was really different. No danger of smudging them as you walk out the door. At $50, it's a pricey manicure. I believe it's expensive for two reasons. First because it's located in a tourist town in a hotel. That right there makes any spa service higher. And second, with a shellac manicure it lasts much longer. I waited to see how long my nails would last before writing my review. The verdict: 3 weeks! And not because they were chipping. I had to take off the polish because my nails were growing out and it was starting to lift up a little bit. But 3 weeks was impressive, especially since I did a lot of housework and organizing during that time. While I hung out on the special heated chairpad, my daughter was taken to a back room to get her brows waxed (unfortunately I don't remember the name of the technician, but she was very friendly). Her brows looked amazing! Because she had a lot of irritation under her brows (and has had this in the past with waxing), the girl had her lay down and put a special mask on her eyes, which was a nice touch. It's definitely more luxurious than a brow wax at a typical salon. However, the price does reflect that as well, at $25. Although my daughter's skin was very irritated, this had nothing to do with the spa, and the service was excellent. I'd recommend this spa if you're willing to spend a little more and like a more peaceful atmosphere than a busy salon. It's also conveniently located in the French quarter. read more

Ahhhhh It's always a good day when you can start it off at a spa. It was the day after our porky pig fest and after all that eating we wanted to go about the day slow and chillaxed!!! This was my friends first time getting a massage, Yeah I don't know how you can go half your life without getting a proper Swedish body massage. Ohhhh yeah it's body jello time! Since she was a bit unsure and uncomfortable she went with a female and I prefer guys so I got Richard. First was the body scrub. I went with the Organic Rescue Ritual - Lilikoi Lemongrass. The scrub felt amazing. The smell was very soothing. To wash it all off I got into a 16 jet rain shower. Oh man I wish I had one of these at home. It is so amazing. I didn't want to come out of it. But, I still had a massage. Got out of the shower reluctantly and onto a warm massage table and Richard went to work. Boy oh boy he has amazing hands!! I wish I could get a massage by him every week. It was so freaking amazing that I started walking out the room and he had to stop me. I was in a daze that I left without my flip flops LOL. If you're Ok with a guy he is amazing ladies!!! At my hotel, Spa Aria resides an 8 second elevator ride to the Mezzanine. And while I enjoyed my experience (the $200 "gentleman's package") I've had more intense and thorough treatments (e.g. I missed the paraffin wax for the feet, and a deeper tissue massage would have been nice). I go to Spa Aria about once every 2 or 3 months, I get a manicure and pedicure and I always wait until Millie is available as I think she is the best manicurist I have ever been to. If by some chance Millie is unavailable due to a few days off or vacation then Mrs. Maria is always my second choice. These two beautiful latin women treat me very well whenever i come in for a visit. We often do some catching up and discuss what been going with each other since my last visit. I decided a prenatal massage was a good way to relax while on a quick getaway with my husband, I'm due with baby 3 in 7 weeks:) My masseuse, Andy, was a lovely and kind person, and I have a feeling that he gives a great "regular" massage, but had very little (if any?) experience in the prenatal field. The massage table was set up was for a normal massage, and we spent 1/2 the appointment trying to find a comfortable position for me to lay in using the pillows they had available. I felt bad for me, bad for Andy, and wouldn't have left a review except for my exit was so bad, it can't go undocumented. When asked how it went, I told Lance at the front desk that Andy was lovely, but the massage was really bad on the "prenatal" side he said, "They usually are". No Lance, they're not. Trudy was so friendly and has a lovely Louisiana accent. She used the perfect amount of pressure, just magically easing away three days of high heel damage to my poor feet and legs. Booked a couple's massage on Ash Wednesday to de-stress from the Mardi Gras madness. There was free parking with ticket validation through Spa Aria, which is a major plus for going to the Quarter. The place is serene and clean, but a bit small for a day spa. The staff was friendly and attentive. My masseuse, Suzzy, had a quick consultation with me and I stressed that all my muscle tension was in my neck, shoulders, and back - and I was used to getting deep tissue massages to take out my knots. She definitely listened to all my concerns and went to work! My massage was amazing and relaxing! The down side was that it was pretty pricey for a 60 minute massage. I could have easily spent the same amount for gas to drive to Biloxi IP Resort, a couples 90 minute massage, and have full access all day to the jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and snow room. We did recieve complimentary champagne, but I was a little dissappointed when we didn't get our chocolate covered strawberries as noted on the menu (we each received 1 Roche chocolate instead). My first time at this tiny jewel of a spa, inside of the charming Monteleone. Lance worked some magic to get our party of four accommodated in less than 48 hours on a holiday weekend. My full pedicure was expertly and lavishly administered by Millie. I'm no stranger to pedicures, but this was several levels above the usual fare! Also, I received a one hour massage at the magic hands of Trudy, during which my soul left my body at least twice.
