We are now having to resort to legal action. We prepaid the $17K last Sept. 2025 for 3 sliding glass doors and a window. On Sept. 5, Mana told us installation would happen in November. November came and went. Since then we have repeatedly emailed, called and texted both Mana and Paul. We got some response initially, and a promise for delivery in Spring 2026. Spring came and went. We have since been completely ghosted as we have tried to contact them, sometimes daily, asking for an installation date or for a refund. In late July, we sent a letter from a lawyer saying that if we did not receive the materials we have paid for, or a refund within 3 weeks, we would pursue legal action. Unfortunately, this is now what we are forced to do. This company installed windows for us a few years ago and our experience was good. I provided a 5-star rating in 2023. We maintain some hope that Paul and Mana will do the minimally correct thing and deliver the materials we have paid for, or refund our money.

Sorry but it's a long but worthwhile review. I really don't like giving bad reviews since it can…read morereally affect a business. But I felt I needed to in this case. I called Anytime Handyman to come out and replace 2 damaged doors and install 2 new doors. I sent a text message to let Tyler letting him know my lock box number since it's a rental and no one will be there to let him in. I gave explicit instructions as to which doors needed to replaced. (it was obvious because of the visible damages). He sent me the estimate, I agreed and paid for the doors so he could order it. They went back to the rental, and installed the new doors as planned. Here's the prolblem, they took off the wrong door (not damaged) and put the new door on. Leaving the damaged door still damaged. That's not the end of it, the latch was not installed properly, it had a hole and crack. As for the other door that they installed, there was also a problem, the strike plate and latch were off centered and wasn't closing properly. I called Tyler to tell him the wrong door was removed and replaced, and sent him a snap shot of the text I sent him when he went out for the estimate, explaining which doors needed to be replaced. His answer was, that's not how he interpreted it. Everything seemed to be wrong with the job. From the wrong door being replaced, to the damages to the door and the other door's latch not closing properly. He said not to worry and it's normal it's not a problem, just let him do his job. Now I'm no handyman but I do know how to install a lockset, and I've never seen a hole of that size, nor did I ever see a strike plate and latch installed at an angle. In Tyler's defense, he did say if I'm not happy he would give me a new door. But at this point, my trust with their quality of work has diminished. Not even a new door would make me continue to do business with them. I will take that loss, and stop all remaining repairs with this company. Update: I read the business owner's responses to my review. First of all, the "so called Painter's" was my daughter and son in law who came over the weekend to help paint the doors, only to find the damaged doors and discrepancies on the other door as well, including the wrong door that was removed. I would have no reason to damage these doors that I had already paid in Full upon completion on Weds. Lastly, it speaks volumes when a business owner would illegally break a homeowner's right of privacy and send photos to anyone requesting it, without prior authorization. I stand by my review.

I believe Coastal Windows will have your best interest as their top priority, just as they did ours through every step of the project. Our lanai went from a dusty, dirty hangout to a clean, weatherproof I-always-want-to-be-out-there living space. Our goal was to replace screened openings with windows to keep out dust, dirt and water. The more window companies I talked to the more ideas I got. However, it was not till speaking with Ernest Chang at Coastal Windows that I was convinced we were making the right decision. Ernest was very patient and actually listened to everything we wanted to achieve with our window project. He helped us work through many details and came up with a solution better than we even imagined. One wall went from 8 screened openings to 4 large sliding windows. When we started we were just going to fill the existing openings with similar size windows. That would have been a huge mistake. This alone set Coastal apart from most other companies who would basically say "tell me what you want and I will let you know how much." Coastal actually consulted and planned with us. It may sound cliche, but that old saying "you get what you pay for" holds true with Coastal Windows. You may pay a bit more, but your end result and your experience from start to finish will be better than expected. Here is what you are paying more for: top of the line windows with no moving parts to break or fail that are designed and built here on island; complete removal of old windows and installation just like new construction ensuring structural integrity and weather resistance; and a vast knowledge of our weather conditions and what works and what doesn't. Breakdown of my experience: Sales process with Ernest Chang: this guy knows his stuff and tells it like it is with amazing tact and respect. He listens to everything and actually hears what you have to say. You could tell he was less focused on the final sale and more focused on what we wanted to achieve that would make us happy. Project proposal: Straight forward and no hidden anything. I'm the guy who asks every possible question and leaves so stone unturned. Everything was communicated clearly and there were no issues or surprises throughout the process or upon completion. Also, every call and email was always returned promptly. Final measurements: These guys came in and made sure they knew exactly what they were getting into and what they would need for install day. If they felt they needed to pull a piece of trim to get a better look, they asked to do so. I am sure they knew they could, but they asked anyway. I respect that they had the consideration for us to ask more than once before just ripping into the walls. Installation: We had 6 very large windows going in and knew it would be a multi-day project. The crew from day one was kind & courteous from the moment they arrived to the moment they left. 5 full days and I never heard one inappropriate word. Now that is a huge feat to achieve with any construction project, let alone a 5-day window install in a house on a hill that has shifted and settled over the years. We found Eric Blanco in the Yelp page and read all his reviews and found the right person for the job. We engaged Eric to design 2 matching wardrobe cabinets to blend in with our existing built in shelving. Eric installed the 2 wardrobe cabinets using solid oak that he stained to the exact color of my existing shelving, the wardrobe closets was beautifully built with lights upon opening and drawers and shelf . We are very happy with his work, he's meticulous, detailed and is always happy , his crews are also very friendly and conscious . We know he is standing by his work and will come back to fix or make any changes that we ask him to do. We highly recommend Eric for anything pertaining to woodworking , he's the best in Honolulu!
