My apartment had recently suffered multiple unidentified leaks this past year that has been a…read morenightmare to navigate. I first messaged Mike and other candidates in 2025 when I was gathering quotes for an insurance claim that ultimately got denied. It was very clear that Mike and the team have great workmanship from the photos - this is coming from someone who's seen great drywall work and extremely poor work that I could do better myself. I could tell right off the bat that these were the guys I wanted to work with. The proof was in the "mudding" as I changed scope to account for materials, budget, level 4-5 finish, and paint finish quality. Having to pay out of pocket for an expense I anticipated someone else to cover was a bit of a concern for my wallet. Mike was patient with me and we worked out a price we could agree on by removing items from the scope that might still been in good condition and limiting the amount of work that needed to be done on a bump-out wall next to my shower. John texted me soon after we agreed to move forward and scheduled the work for the following week. He also suggested a change in material (DensShield) from what I had originally requested (blueboard) and I am so grateful to have skilled/experienced teammates to work with that really know what they're doing. Day 1 was demolition, hanging, and mudding. John was finished and out before lunch and I could already tell that the quality of work was spectacular. You couldn't even tell the ceiling was repaired because it was blended in perfectly with the surrounding area. The bump-out wall was looking way better than it was even prior to the water damage. We left the fan on throughout the day and overnight to let the hot mud dry out. Day 2 was sanding, priming, and painting. Fortunately, I purchased and stored paint that was specific to my bathroom from a previous repair and had it at the ready this time around as well. Honestly, when I first discovered the leak, I originally planned to fix it myself so I also had a brand new container of primer. I'm pretty satisfied with the work, especially with the DensShield suggestion and installation in both affected areas to account for future leaks. I didn't know such product existed and the workmanship mudding a material such as DensShield and it essentially coming out nearly flawless is pretty impressive. Overall, I would give Mike's team a solid 9/10. Prompt responses, flexibility in materials/scope, and great quality of work. The quote, as some have mentioned is on the higher side compared to other candidates I'd spoken with, but I learned the last time that you get what you pay for. Could I have gotten it cheaper? 100%. Would it have come out as good? Not sure. The last guy I hired at maybe half the price got the job done, but clearly not done well and that's what got me in this predicament, SO... don't cheap out if you can help it - especially for a bathroom or high-moisture/high-risk area. I'm certain I'll be working with Mike and the team in the future and there are no regrets here as compared to my last drywall adventure. Thank you Mike & John for your patience and hard work.

Because we had electrical conduit installed in the attic space for our photovoltaic panels and battery back up, we wanted to have it as cool as possible. I called Harry Oneha, owner of HDrywall to ask if he would be able to do the installation. He came out the day I called and gave me a very reasonable quote. He then installed the insulation within a couple of weeks. The installers were meticulous, covering the floors and walls with plastic. They used planks to ensure no damage to the ceilings of the garage. The height of the attic space went from less than 3 feet at the peak of the attic to zero where the rafters came down the ceiling joists. Despite that, they were able to get insulation into the rafters in all areas. Better yet, even though the attic was a very hot and confined space, the installers did not complain at all... they were actually very pleasant and happy. When they finished in the attic, they cleaned the garage completely and left "not a trace of debris". Generally, when I have a job done, I need to hire another company to fix and clean up after them... but not with Harry's crew! They were amazing. I am a rather OCD person, and if workers can get a good rating from me, that means a WHOLE lot! KUDOS and sincere thanks to HDrywall. I'd have them back to do work for me in a heartbeat!

My husband and I tried to do it two years ago for our son's nursery and needless to say it was an experience we never wanted to do again. We knew we needed to hire someone to do the wallpaper for our daughters nursery this time and thank God Homer said he was available! We got quotes from other people, some were over $1000 which to me is totally absurd for one wall - I think they priced us at $1,400 or something like that, not to say the effort doesn't deserve a decent amount of payment but over a grand just seemed like a lot especially for our budget. Homer gave us a quote of $450 and knowing he had good reviews on Yelp I was comfortable saying yes. He was on time, professional, super nice, made sure I knew he was still arriving to do the job the day before, always messaged me back if I had questions, and the final result is incredible. He showed up in the morning just like he said he would and was done in the early afternoon. If I ever need someone to do wallpaper services in future renovations I am absolutely contacting Homer to do the job! I feel his price was fair, the work was exceptional, and am very glad we hired him! Thank you Homer for your services! We love our nursery wallpaper!

About a month after the job was done, the complete patio and deck railing area started bubbling like mad. I contacted Brian who claimed it was tree sap causing it but other painters who took a look said it was caused by painting before the wood was dry (from the prep). Not to mention the house has been painted numerous times over the last 20 years with zero issues of "tree sap" AND the bubbling is occurring on multiple different types of wood. What's worse is Brian came by and sanded areas down to the bare wood which now sits unprotected. He agreed to fix the problem and we went back and forth with numerous promises of, "My guys coming this week, etc." over the last EIGHTEEN MONTHS! He has now just stopped communicating period and upon checking DCCA and eCourt Kokua, I now see his business is in bad standing and he has multiple pending civil lawsuits (another one coming his way shortly) which no doubt are related to the complaints on this site. I actually liked Brian, thought he was a good guy, and tried to be patient and give him the benefit of the doubt but clearly see now that he had no intention of fixing this issue. Unfortunately, I'll now have to resolve this through the judicial system. Caveat emptor folks. *Update 12/15/2025 - Working with Brian to get this resolved. Hopefully the job can be completed the right way!

After looking at and watching it get worse we decided we needed to get it fixed. It's a 1000 square foot garage sitting under a 2 bedroom 1 bath addition to our house we built about 20 years ago, so we knew it would be a pretty big job. So, of course, we went to Yelp. Of the many drywall companies listed, one caught my attention, Always Local Drywall and Plaster. They actually only had one review, it was 5 star, but I liked the photographs of their work, So I gave them a call. The owner, Pohai Williams, agreed to come over the next day and take a look at our garage. As promised, Pohai came over and explained what needed to be done, and I decided to give his company a chance. The next day he emailed me an estimate, detailing everything that they would be doing and how long it would take. I accepted the estimate and two days later Pohai and a helper started the job. They were meticulous. They covered the garage floor and anything else we couldn't move to protect against the inevitable drywall dust and uncovered everything at the end of each day so we could continue to use our garage. A picture is worth a thousand words, so here are photos of our ceiling before and after Pohai and his helper finished.

After getting the leak fixed, I went on Yelp. Pohai was the first to respond and provided a detailed estimate. After reviewing other quotes, I decided to hire him. Pohai arrived a few days later and prepped the site well. He taped off the carpeted floor and several wall sections before working, and he completed the job in two days by himself. My son said it looks like nothing ever happened. Pohai told me that he's been doing this for 23 years, starting right out of high school, and it shows. I found him personable and easy to work with, and would not hesitate to hire him again. Btw he did not request a Yelp review.
