AKA they looked like a hairy water buffalo (sexy right?) Someone mentioned that I try The Waxing Room and since I was in the area I decided to give it a try and I'm SO glad I did! From the moment I walked through the door I noticed that this isn't your regular "salon" it smelled wonderful and very personal. The owner Ida immediately welcomed me in, I didn't have an appointment & only had to wait about 3 minutes. Contrary to what another reviewer said, I was seated in a stool that had plenty of natural light (perfect for seeing every little hair). The biggest thing that stood out to me was that Ida asked exactly how I liked my brows, she used a template to outline the perfect shape and the wax was quick and painless! Another great feature was afterwards she filled my eyebrows in and added highlighter to my eye lids so my makeup almost looked like it hadn't been touched! Ladies...how many times have you left a waxing place and your eyebrows are RED and have shiny aloe smothered all over the place?! Nope, not this place, I looked almost ready to go out for the evening. I look forward to going back again in 3 weeks to see Ida and many more times after that!

Wax will make your hair a lot softer and the more you do it, the faster your wax will become. Your hair will also grow a lot slower than if you shaved. If this is your first time getting a Brazilian Wax, here are some tips: 1. Your hair needs to be as long as a grain of rice, no longer. If you know for sure your pubic hair are longer than that, TRIM the hair. DO NOT SHAVE! 2. If you've already shaved, you have to wait a month to grow it out. 3. Talk during the wax about anything! 4. Don't shave ever again and come back every 4-6 weeks depending on your growth 5. Get wax product from Walmart/Target if you are going to a last minute beach day to avoid shaving 6. Buy the extra products they have: glove, exfoliating beads, and their special soap to avoid ingrown hairs.

She was already in with a client, so I slid the card hanging on the service room door under the door as advised and sat down. My appointment was at 12:30pm and she was a little late getting to me, but the person before me hadn't been in 6 months so my impatience quickly turned to compassion because GOOD LORD. 6 months?!! Anyway, Geni was fast, friendly, warm and very inviting. She got through my wax in less than 30 minutes and I was a little past overdue. This was my first-ever experience with sugaring. I had my lower legs (including knees; front and…read moreback of legs) done this morning 1/27/2025, having made my appointment online last night. Easy to book appointments online, with plenty of options for availability. For reference, I've only had waxing (eyebrows and upper lip) and threading (brows) done before, never sugaring and never anything on my legs. The studio is located in a little converted house in Clermont, directly across Grand Highway from the AtHome store. Plenty of parking spaces are available in the back. Khlaryssa was ready when I arrived, on time for my 9:30am appt. The studio was clean and comfortable. After I removed pants (and covered myself with a small towel), she dusted my legs with an organic powder and explained the process. The (also organic) sugar mixture looks almost like honey, but is less liquidy and more of a squishy spreadable solid (kind of like...silly putty?) which feels room temperature. It's NOT like waxing, which in constrast is hot and they put a clothlike strip over the wax to later pull the hair off. This sugar stuff is squished against your skin in the opposite direction of the hair growth, and then the sugar itself (no cloth) is yanked off in the same direction as the hair growth. The sugar doesn't stick to your skin as much as wax does. Individual hairs were tweezed afterward. My entire appointment lasted one hour. Was it painless? No, it hurt - they're pulling hair out of your body! And my leg hair was super long after being in pants throughout this colder Florida winter lol. BUT I would go back. I feel like it got easier to tolerate over the course of the session, and would likely get progressively easier over multiple sessions. I also can't compare how waxing would feel on my legs because I've only had it done on my face. I will say that, as a person with VERY sensitive skin, my legs weren't all red like my face is after waxing. Allegedly this is effective for a longer time, so I'll see how it goes and will likely return to this studio.
