Staying down in Wailea Maui and had to have a meal at Nabu. Our seating was at 5pm, and the 3 of us in family stayed till 730p. Great service by a team of 3, very attentive. Eat outside if you're looking for a sunset view, just know it gets cool after sun goes down. As for the food, I would say good not great. They charge between $30 and $100 for small plates. It's worth going once for sure. I thought their drinks were average.

Well for Nobu this one was not on the same level as expectations. Strangely at the end I can hear the guy apologize in a sarcastic manner that he had to process a gift card( that was us) The service was a little slow. Once we finished our first Sake it sat empty for call it 10 minutes before we had to flag the server back down to order another one. The guy serving water and cleaning plates was on point. The food definitely not as we experienced at other Nobu's. Makes me hesitant to go back to a Nobu period. The best dish we had that night was the cucumber kelp app. The uni nigiri was pretty good as well. Unfortunately will not go out of my way to return here.

Went to Nobu for a dinner while on our honeymoon! The restaurant was in a beautiful hotel- the Grand Wailea and it was truly stunning and palatial! The restaurant itself was also very stunning with super tall ceilings and very nice decor! Our waiter was super knowledgeable and helpful ! He explained and went over the menu with us as this was our first time ! I really enjoyed the food here and I thought all was very tasty! The standout was of course the cod that that tasted absolutely delicious!!!! Basically like butter but also sweet and savoury! Every bite was great! The maki's were great as the fish was very fresh! They also gave us a chocolate chip mochi dessert on the house which I thought was very nice ! Overall nice experience :)

Nobu Maui is everything you hope it will be -- stunning views, flawless service, and food that hits every note. We ordered a mix of classics and new favorites, and everything delivered: * Thai Sweet Shiso -- unique, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. * New Style Salmon Sashimi -- a Nobu classic that never misses. * Rock Shrimp Tempura -- a party in your mouth that you never want to end. * Black Cod Miso Lettuce Wraps -- small but powerful bites packed with flavor. * Hand Roll Sampler -- a great touch, with something for everyone. The setting is unbeatable: oceanfront views that feel surreal, paired with a perfectly chic, relaxed vibe. Service was exceptional as always -- attentive, warm, and seamless. Every visit to Nobu feels special, and Maui might just be the crown jewel. Can't wait to go back.

Nobu at the Grand Wailea was absolutely amazing from experience, food, customer service to the whole atmosphere. We can for a birthday dinner and it was our first time. Our waiter really wanted to give us the "nobu" experience and offered that he pick out the meals himself and we come up with a total price of what we would spend. All choices he made did not disappoint and gave us very detailed on each dish that was brought out. The setting is romantic and this was a perfect date night. My experience here was phenomenal.

Nobu at Grand Wailea has beautiful views, but the experience didn't live up to the hype. Service was just okay, and while the food was good, it wasn't memorable--our server's recommendations fell flat. Drinks were overpriced and nothing special. We went on my birthday, spent over $500, and didn't even get a "happy birthday," which felt disappointing. Glad we tried it for the location, but for sushi, Komo next door at the Four Seasons is far better in both food and service. The setting at Nobu Grand Wailea is stunning, with beautiful views, but overall the experience left us underwhelmed. The service was just okay, and the food, while good, didn't stand out. Our server's recommendations weren't particularly enjoyable, and the cocktails were overpriced and fairly ordinary. I went for my birthday and, despite making reservations in advance and spending over $500, there wasn't even a small gesture to acknowledge the occasion--not even a simple "happy birthday" or dessert. For a restaurant at this level, that felt especially disappointing. I'm glad I had the chance to experience the location, but I wouldn't return. For sushi in Maui, Komo at the Four Seasons is far superior, outstanding food, excellent service, and an overall unforgettable experience.

I mean... I couldn't find a complaint of you paid me to. Our server was outstanding, and of course the food was everything Nobu always is. Came here to celebrate my birthday and it was unreal getting to dine outside and watch the sun set over the ocean. Nothing better than that I don't think. Also- I have a gluten allergy and EVERYTHING was made perfectly and altered in a way I could eat it. I so appreciate Nobu for always ALWAYS accommodating so perfectly. Plenty of GF options!

By far one of the best restaurants with a view. It's hard to beat the view here. The setting is true eye candy. Our waiter was attentive and made sure we were taken care of throughout the night. We let the server and chef guide our dining experience and they did an amazing job. One of the top meals I have ever had. The bad part is I don't know the names of all the dishes that were brought out. They were all so good. I do know my son doesn't eat fish but he had 5 pieces of seared salmon that night and loved it. I have the pictures and great memories of an awesome night. Thank you!!

I personally would've never chosen to dine at Maui's first Nobu, but I'm glad my spouse and friend decided for all of us! ATMOSPHERE: Open-air and located in the Grand Wailea Resort, the former Grand Dining Room/Ikena space has been moderately renovated, mainly with new lighting and decorative materials adorning the ceiling and uppermost windows. While it looks nice, it impedes the signature ocean view you used to see when entering the resort's lobby. Choose from sushi counter, bar, low top and lanai seating. A private dining room is available. MENU: Hot and cold Japanese apps, sushi, seafood, meats, poultry and desserts. The menu lacks descriptions which is trying. FOOD (expertly curated by our server, Sherry): Yellowtail Jalapeño Slivers of buttery fish in a pool of sweet-savory sauce, with mild heat from the sliced peppers. Very nice app. White Fish Sashimi Dry Miso Slivers of delicate white sashimi with citrusy notes. The dry miso topping gave a pleasing crunch and saltiness. Nobu Tacos We chose wagyu. They're tiny. One-bite tiny. But, freakin' delish with savory & sweet elements. Highly recommended. Salmon Sashimi Partially-cooked salmon slices finished with a salty and citrusy sauce, crisp green beans and sesame seeds. Highly recommended. Rock Shrimp Tempura (Creamy Spicy) Bite-sized pieces of crispy, battered shrimp drizzled with a tart & creamy aioli. We found some mushrooms underneath as well. Mainstream but good. Black Cod Miso The celebrity chef's specialty dish. Good-sized cut of flaky, tender, boneless fish done in the traditional way. Mainstream but excellent. Beef Tenderloin Toban Yaki Tender & flavorful sliced steak on a searing hot plate, with thick brown gravy, enoki mushrooms and asparagus. About the size of a chicken thigh and heavenly. DESSERT: Date Cake Super moist cake, not overly sweet, with crunchy nuts and a scoop of vanilla gelato on top. Highly recommended. Whiskey Cappuccino Served cold, the whiskey foam was a unique touch. Very good. SERVICE: Host greeting was smiley, immediate and professional. Our server, Sherry, was top notch! Bubbly, friendly and passionate, she was on top of it all. Food runners presented dishes with descriptions which was informative. OVERALL: Pricey, but a welcomed and great addition to Wailea. First time for us but won't be the last.

I've been to multiple Nobu locations and hate to say it, but this was by far the worst one I've experienced. The location itself is absolutely beautiful, which is really the main highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The food was surprisingly not good, especially by Nobu standards. Portions were extremely small, even for a restaurant that's already known for higher prices, and the quality did not justify the cost at all. Everything felt insanely expensive for what ended up being very underwhelming food. Hours are also very limited, which makes it even harder to justify coming here. It's especially disappointing because this location replaced what used to be a great breakfast spot, and this feels like a major downgrade. For such a prime space, the experience was completely subpar. We also told them it was a birthday and they did nothing to acknowledge it which is sad when you are paying hundreds per person. Beautiful setting, but not worth the hype, the price, or the loss of what was there before.

    Sophie M.

Honestly this place was so mid and maybe even less. Service was great and staff was super kind but you can get fresher fish on the island for so much cheaper. This reminds me of when you buy something just for the brand name. So expensive for just mid sushi. Also their card readers were down for the whole hotel so we had to pay in cash. Glad we had enough but I would think a place like Nobu could comp something for the inconvenience. Just a thought. Would not go back to another Nobu lol

Was really excited to hear that we were getting a Nobu on Maui so I booked a reservation and started saving. Overall would say it's alright and really expensive. For me I wouldn't go back. But for more detail below... Starting with looks the restaurant is so cool and stylish the interior is so pretty. We also got an umbrella seat outside with had a great view of the hotel. There's also seating by the sushi chefs/bar Service was great coming in we were greeted with a welcome in (in Japanese) by the staff. Our waiter was also really nice. Food is were things start going down. Drinks overall really pricey. The tea we were served was just warm and when asked they said they only had one temperature. Got grapefruit juice it was really sour. I probably should've got something else. Fried mushroom salad really good solid crunchy mushroom and a good dressing. Spicy seafood soup also good a good kick of spice. When asked for small bowls to share they said they didn't have any. But then they were able to find some. The famous miso black cod is just as good as they say the best thing we had. Beef skewers weren't that great and very small. Sushi was just okay and not that great.

    Marc C.

Nobu never disappoints. The black miso cod was rich, and every bit as incredible as its reputation promised. I'll be dreaming about it for a while. The green beans were crisp, cool, and perfectly tangy. The tempura shrimp with butter ponzu sauce was light, and somehow still packed with flavour. Truly unforgettable. And the nigiri (scallop and tuna) was unbelievably fresh. Now we know exactly what to aim for when trying to recreate top-tier fish at home.

Atmosphere was casual and fun without being loud. Great spot for lunch or dinner -- locals and visitors coming and going. This place has satisfying portions and solid prices compared to other island eats. Overall, this is one of the best ramen experiences on Maui -- perfect for when you want comforting Japanese cuisine that hits all the right notes. Will definitely be back next visit!

We ordered 3 items from the Happy Hour Menu: Tuna Crunch, Sunomono, and Kimchi Dip. Tuna Crunch and Sunomono was my favorite. The Tuna Crunch had garlic chips, chili crunch, and ponzu sauce poured over table side. The Sunomono looked simple with a stack of cucumbers but it also had the most addictive sauce of Garlic Tamari, Chili Crunch and Micro Cilantro. The Kimchi Dip was delicious but I'm not a huge fan of Yorkshire Puddings and would rather had crostini's or bread for dipping. My cousin ordered an Old Fashioned and a Manhattan and he said the drinks were made real good. Another cousin and I opted for Alcohol free drinks, my cousin had one with grapefruit and I enjoyed my "martini" with mango and lilikoi (passion fruit). The Signature Sushi Rolls were delicious. We shared the Anuenue (Rainbow) which included Crab, Ahi, Salmon, Hamachi and Ebi and the Nani (Beautiful) which included Spicy Salmon, Cucumber, Avocado, Yakiniku Sauce, Sweet Soy and Micro Greens. We also ordered the Katsu Pork Belly which our bartender recommended. There's 6 crispy pieces atop Rice, Katsu Sauce, Cabbage and Japanese Curry Mayo. My cousin got the Hot Rock Maui Nui Venison Striploin which was cooked on the Hot Rock for 15 seconds per side and served with 4 Homemade Tortillas and Shiso Chimichurri. Overall, food was pretty good but of course quite expensive and located on a tourist spot. Thankful for Kamaaina discount and the beautiful sunset views!

We were just about to leave our resort when I put it in Google Maps, but AI said they may be closed! Checked my confirmation...no, date is correct. Called the restaurant, left a message. Googled it: which took me to their instagram page: they're closed for renovations from 2/15 through 3/4! Maybe the storms the previous week caused this? I hope it's nothing serious, but we were just so disappointed, and no one has ever reached out to us. And yelp still shows they're operating normal hours!

Instead, you show up for your $100/plate omakase (or, God forbid, $185 20-course dinner) and find out you can pair it "with anything from Long's Drugs next door." Or, hey, they have Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite. It might still have been worth it if the sushi were great, but it wasn't. It was pretty good -- better than most places -- but not great. There was nothing particulalry creative about the nigiri, and it wasnt technically outstanding, either - one of us found a scale and another a bone. It simply wasnt worth the price, even on Maui. We drove down from Kapalua to eat here: I would absolutely not do that again. Left feeling disappointed and mildly ripped off. Shout out to the single waitress who handled the entire front-of-house; she was working hard.
