40. Pad Thai
Michelle C.

Wow, this seems like a cute neighborhood spot :) They're always busy with takeout orders in the front. When you walk in, you're surprised by the spacious dining area. It feels a bit like a university dining hall with the way the tables are set up. I loved how relaxed it felt. What we ordered: - Papaya Salad: The citrusy flavor really opened my appetite. Loved this! - Tiger Cry: Can't go wrong with this. The marinated beef was so flavorful. - Fried Chicken Wings: Essentially salt and pepper chicken. Not bad but a bit basic. I'd try something else on the menu next time. - Pad Thai: They really crushed it! Sweet, savory, and sour ~ all the flavors meshed perfectly.

This place has such a cute ambiance and really liked how the service was quick. The food came out in a timely manner and really enjoyed their pad thai which was not at all soggy like other places. Their tiger cry was so good with a side of dipping sauce. Their Thai tea was also good and you can see the cream.

42. Kuay Tiew Kee Mao w/ beef
Jose C.

We did takeout from Noble Thai. My order was ready before the promised time. The inside did look very upscale for a Thai restaurant. Which was nice to see and the staff was great as well. We order their Pad See-Iew with chicken and Kuay Tiew Kee Mao with beef. Both dishes were delicious. Lately Thai has been a hit or miss for some odd reason, but Noble Thai was a good pick. The Kee Mao was spicy and the beef was very tender. The noodles were cooked perfectly. We also ordered their Mango Sticky Rice. This was also good and available for a fair price. Overall we were really satisfied with Noble Thai and will definitely consider returning.

Noble Thai was an absolute treat! I'd go so far as to say it's some of the best Thai food in the city--and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. I made a reservation for a Thursday night, and it wasn't too busy, which made for a relaxed dining experience. We kicked things off with two cocktails that were both tasty and well-priced. For our appetizer, we chose the Chicken Satay--and wow, the peanut sauce it came with was so good I could've honestly sipped it like a drink! For our entrees, we ordered the Gaeng Masaman and the Gaeng Pet Ped. While the Gaeng Masaman didn't have quite as much flavor as I had hoped, the Gaeng Pet Ped absolutely delivered--it was rich, aromatic, and everything you want in a great curry dish. The portions were generous enough that we needed takeout containers. We'll definitely be back next time we're on that side of town!

Yum yum yummy! What an AMAZING place. We went around 4:30p and were seated immediately as the place was empty. I actually loved that because it was peaceful especially with their decor - it's so well thought out. We ordered what is pictured + chicken pad thai (not pictured). Everything was excellent! Different flavor profiles that just all make sense. Their sauces and spices are soo good I wish I could take some home lol This has easily become my favorite Thai spot in Chicago. Just go!

30. Pad Paak Roum Mit with chicken and 41. Pad See-Iew with shrimp

I wanted to love this place. The interior is cute and the service was great. But the food was without question very mid. Started with the Tiger Cry - it was so incredibly dry and over cooked that it was like chewing jerky. Not spicy at all. My husband got the pad see-lew with shrimp and spice level 1. I got the pad paak roum mit with chicken spice level four. They were both equal spicy which to me was maybe a level three. I have no idea why they even asked us. My dish was kind of tasteless otherwise. The best part was sadly the Thai donuts which is fried dough with sugar so kinda hard to mess up. We will keep exploring the neighborhood for a regular Thai spot cause this wasn't it for us.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while- it got a lot of hype on social media. I don't think it met my expectations, but there was nothing bad about the food or experience at all. I just have had better Thai food in the suburbs. The service was quick though, atmosphere was clean and bright, and portions were pretty good at a fair price point. The standout in my opinion was the crab rangoons. Definitely one of the better ones I've tried as the cream filling was tasty, well blended, and with some herbs or veggies that added a slight nice flavor. We also ordered the tiger cry, papaya salad, pad Thai with pork, and Penang curry with shrimp. Everything was good, nothing excellent in my opinion. The pad Thai though wasn't dry at all, which tends to be the case with most Thai places that don't do a good job. This place definitely will satisfy your Thai needs. We were pretty full after this meal but also ordered the spring rolls to top it off with something lighter - I liked these a lot. My dad's Thai iced coffee was also a nice sweet addition to the meal.

Terrific no frills and minimalistic establishment with great food, what more could you want! The only thing a little off was the service, even though we had reservations they were kinda vague if they could seat us. Which we did after sitting at the bar with no bar tender for a bit. Busy place though and lots of groups and lots of take out going out of here. Esthetically very basic but nice and classy and a chill atmosphere. Great menu though and a decent beer and wine list. I had the bubbly and my friend had glass of Pinot Grigio. Staples that are always good. We tried the potstickers as an appetizer which weirdly were deep fried but turned out to be very tasty. Pork inside and great dipping sauce. Then we shared the drunken noodles with chicken and the red curry with chicken. My go tos and I love trying them every Thai place I go. These were both pretty good and tasty and very fresh. Lots of veggies in both too. But as spicy as we had hoped but we got a side of red chilies to help our cause. Nice spot and seemed to stay busy the whole time we were there. They kinda close early so get in quick !

Ordered for delivery and was easily to worst Thai food I've had in Chicago. The curry tasted like watery coconut milk with no flavor or spice. The noodles had an odd sour aftertaste. Both were inedible and we had to order from another Thai restaurant for dinner! The papaya salad was very good though and spicy. Will definitely avoid in the future.

9. Tiger Cry
Yasmin S.

I had to give this place a try as I saw Keith Lee recently review it. I was in town, and Thai food is my favorite pad see ew: it had a distinct flavor that I've never ever tried in this dish. It didn't have enough sauce, and the sauce flavor had no sweetness to it. I think that's what the dish missed, as I tasted salt and sour. Mango sticky rice: the mango was delicious but the rice was so sticky like it had been sitting for a while. The sauce was all dried up, and I the dessert should've had more on it as well. Tiger cry: this was my favorite dish out of the 3. It was packed with so much flavor! The sauce that it came with was so bomb too. I do feel like it is pricey for the amount that you get but I would still order this again.

5. Peanut Sauce Spring Rolls
Ana M.

I think I found my favorite Thai food in Chicago! The restaurant has such a nice aesthetic, definitely a place to impress a date or friends. The service was phenomenal, our servers made recommendations and was attentive. We started off with Mai Tai's, they were so delicious. They do have a full service bar. For appetizers I loved the peanut sauce spring rolls and the cry tiger. Next time I will get a regular pad Thai and add the cry tiger meat. It has such an amazing taste I can't compare to anything else. The chicken curry was made with coconut milk, had the right amount of spicy and sweet. I can't wait to come back and try new things!

41. Pad See-Iew

This place use to be a Eckhart Park library 24 years ago. My husband and I use to work here then. It's where we met!! Cute story right!!!??? We came here for our 9th anniversary dinner in April. It's very clean. Not really busy dining in but had lots of delivery orders. (I saw the bags on the counter) We had great service, delicious food and great drinks! We ordered the tiger cry, shumai, pad kana moo krab, seafood fried rice, pad see iew and a coconut Mai tai. The Tiger Cry was charbroiled marinated beef with tangy chili sauce on the side. It was delicious! Nice and tender. It paired well with the dipping sauce that was on the side! The Pad Kana Moo Krab was crispy pork belly, Chinese broccoli and oyster sauce! It had crispy pieces and chewy pieces. The Chinese broccoli was cooked perfectly. A good solid dish if you're a pork lover. (I forgot to take a picture of this dish) The shumai are shrimp dumplings that are served with a Thai soy sauce. These were amazing and we could've eaten at least 30. lol! The Seafood Combination Fried Rice had , shrimp, squid, crab stick. It wasn't heavily saturated with soy sauce. It was light in color but very flavorful! It was very delicious too. The Chicken Pad See-lew had Flat rice noodles, Chinese broccoli, eggs and sweet soy sauce. My favorite Thai dish everrrr! Extremely well executed! Mine was extraaaaa spicy! My coconut Mai tai packed punch but was smooth! Street parking wasn't overly crowded. We found a spot right next to the restaurant!!!! Friendly, delicious food, solid drinks and very reasonably priced! This is our spot!!!!!! Check them out!!!!!!

11. Fried Chicken Wings
Marlene S.

This place is so cute inside. Walked right in during dinner time and it was pretty empty but the takeout orders were off the charts. We saw so many bags waiting to get picked up and so many delivery people coming in and out. We ordered a bunch of food and honestly it was too much. The shrimp fried rice was tasty. The fried wings were okay, I think they just lacked some flavor. The spring roll and dumplings were also okay crab Rangoon was so good! Would definitely return and try other things.

There are window views from the restaurant, making for good people watching. Mainly metered parking available Medium to large sized place with dedicated sections for thai food (about 8 tables and 2 rows of bar style seats) vs for sushi and ramen but all under the same place/owner, can order from any menu - the decor on that side is super cute, fish cutouts, anime/manga decorated walls, decked out bars Got the scuba diving chicken from the chefs faves and must say it was pretty good - a bit on the greasier side but the aroma of the herbs and the spices from the curry really pull through, chicken is cooked very well, super tender and juicy. I got the "No turning back" spice level and theres a hefty kick - halfway into the dish my mouth def feels it but nothing too extreme (FYI theres a slight mala-like numbingness to it) The traditional papaya salad was crunchy and refreshing, sauce is tangy but not too overwhelming. The peanuts add a nice nutty element to it. There were hardly any dried shrimp, so wouldve like to see a bit more of that. Be sure to give it a good mix as the sauce and topping fall to bottom of the bowl To top it off, the service was great. Albert was really attentive and helpful - would come back if im in the gold coast area again to try the other menu offerings

Seating was a little tight like at Phodega, but not terrible. To view menu, you scan a QR code at the table. My husband & I ordered the following: - Grilled Squid This was really good! I thought it was going to come out like little calamari rings, but it was actually a decently sized whole squid, sliced with the tentacles on the side. It was cooked perfectly as it was not chewy or rubbery. The flavor was great, especially with the paired Thai-spicy seafood sauce. - Crab Meat Fried Rice Loved that this was with real crab! & not the imitation crab.
