This new coffee bar is fantastic. The pours are very flavorful. good straight or with flavors added. They use locally sourced beans and you can taste the difference from the chains. It's just fresher. The atmosphere of the place is very welcoming. Whether you're just passing through, gathering with friends, a day date or there to study; the place has something for you. Amanda and Jeromy have outdone themselves. There is a super comfy couch and a great steampunk theme going through the place. Plenty of seating and a conference room in back. One of the biggest surprises is the small, well executed menu. They have some great breakfast foods like a Belgian waffle and breakfast sandwich done the ugly Mug way. They even have a couple of sandwiches for lunch. This is a welcome and needed addition to the 40/42 area. You owe it to yourself to check it out. It just may be your new favorite place! read more

This was a delicious way for us to spend our breakfast on Sunday. We arrived around 11 AM and there was plenty of seating. The space was industrial and very beautiful to look at. Service was pretty good. I hate to say this but it was definitely kind of hipster. What I mean by that is that sometimes the Service lacks a little bit in an effort to be "cool". The lady that took our order was definitely not interested in waiting too long. When we told her it was our first time here she didn't offer to explain anything on the menu she just waited in sort of looked at us with an impatient stare. She wasn't rude, just not necessarily gracious. Either way the food was excellent. I got the mug which which was delicious and my boyfriend got the breakfast sampler. There's waffles were excellent and we fight over the last bite. We will definitely be back again. read more

I've never been disappointed with my meals from Ugly Mug. I usually get the BLTC which is made with a generous portion of bacon and good quality cheese. The side I choose is their chips and salsa. I don't know which brand of salsa they serve but it's just right for me, so tasty! The customer service is friendly and I've never had to wait too long for my meal to be ready. I'm happy they're so close by and convenient. They have expanded their menu too so I'm looking forward to trying other dishes. read more

I have heard a lot of good things about this place. Finally decided to give it a try for breakfast. Unfortunately, it will be my last time here. We ordered 2 orders of eggs over medium. The eggs came out cooked WELL DONE. Very disappointed. We sent both orders back. Twice someone came out to ask how the eggs were supposed to be cooked. both times we told them so that the whites were cooked but the yokes runny. So one order came out pretty good but still a little over done and the other was almost as bad as the first time. It was then that we decided just to suck it up and vow to avoid the Ugly Mug. The food is definitely Ugly. I suggest that those cooking should partake in a few You Tube videos. I checked, and there are plenty on how to cook eggs. The Belgian waffle and the coffee were good. My wife and I love coming here, although it is a little pricey everything has always been really good. I have referred them to a few friends and they have liked it as much as me. I've been to this coffee shop twice, but only once since this pandemic has started. I was shocked by the lack of care the manager had for their customers health and well being. Not only did he wear his mask below his nose, but he also did not tell the customers to wear one. If I didn't already order, I would have left immediately. I will not be coming back! read more

Owner was extremely friendly and very helpful in helping us pick out what to order. Love the atmosphere and the food was quite tasty. I got a German Chocolate Cake Coffee that was terrific tasting, although sadly lukewarm for having just been made. The Mugwich had great flavor and was nicely executed, just wish it had been a little more filling it seemed like it was fairly light on the bacon and avocado. Tucked back in a little shopping area is a nice welcome to a busy area. Welcome to Ugly Mug. While the name is funny the coffee they brew is very seriously good. Nice open area to sit and read or visit. The staff always make you feel like their most important customer and will prepare anything you want or make suggestions if you aren't sure. I'd give them 3.5 stars, but since I can't, I'll round up. I've been coming here for years and it used to be one of my favorite coffee shops, but I feel like their service has gone down considerably in the past year. There are only a couple of servers that I'd consider really nice. Most of the others look like they're doing you a favor by taking your order. Also, I visited recently and even though they had a sign requiring masks, only 1/4 of the servers was wearing theirs properly and they allowed customers in without any masks at all. I may still come by because it's convenient and I do like their coffee options (there are a lot) and baked goods (they even have some vegan options), but it's no longer my go-to place. read more
