I took the shoes in hoping to exchange them but was told only the manager could do that and they didn't see a reason why she wouldn't. I bought a second pair and the same thing happened in 3-4 days. I took both pairs to the store when the manager was in and she almost immediately told me I was doing something to cause this like hooking my feet on something? I felt she was a little aggressive. She refused an exchange/refund and suggested I contact Hoka directly. I did and received a full refund. As it turns out, that is a known issue and something they addressed when designing the Gaviota 4. I thought the employees at this store were very knowledgeable and helpful. The manager's attitude will be what keeps me from shopping there.

I told the associate what I was needing and she brought out a pair of Ecco sandals and encouraged me to try them. I turned up my nose because they were NOT the style I was looking for, but I tried them on to humor her. Holy smokes they were my saving grace! I wore them every day of my trip with little to no foot pain. That is something for someone with falling arches, internal pronation, and plantar fasciitis. It is getting towards the Holidays, and vintage Christmas decorations were out in force. There are treasures to be found, but vendors know their goods, and prices $$$ can reflect that.
