chile relleno torta, asade tacos, jamaica, horchata
    Metro S.

Authentic! We were so pleased with the food. We will absolutely return. I had a chile relleno torta. Man, that was tasty! Nice crunch on the bun. Tons of filling and flavor. I had a wonderful horchata. Made in-house. My wife had asada tacos. It was exactly as I'd have expected it out of a food truck in San Diego. Delicious! She also had jamaica. Again, made in-house and delicious.

My daughter got me a carne asada quesadilla from here. The quesadilla was full of meat and cheese. It was bland slightly but went well with the queso. I popped it in the air fryer to reheat, and it tasted even better the next day. They have a pretty decent menu with several choices. Tacos, nachos, fries, quesadillas, and more. I enjoyed the meal and will return!!! Check them out!!

It's been a hot minute since we have visited and was just as impressed with the food as our first visit a year ago! Husband had a steak NorCal burrito with his choice of protein and he picked steak. The burritos are large enough to cut in half and have two meals so a great deal! He loved the burrito and ended up eating it the next day and heated up great in the air fryer! Orange hot sauce that comes with the order was more spicy than the green sauce. I ordered the kids chicken taco with rice as my side. Tons of chicken and rice. I also added a side of pico. I had enough meat and rice and chicken to make two more tacos at home! It has not changed inside since our last visit, a large amount of tables, soda machine, and a counter with a salsa bar. The gentleman behind the counter was a little quiet but he got our order right, so nothing wrong with not being a conversationalist! Can count on this place for good food!

Coming all the way from CA, we've been seriously craving real Mexican food (which has been surprisingly hard to find in VA ). We stumbled upon No. 1 Taco in Virginia Beach and decided to give it a shot. I ordered the NorCal Burrito--packed with carne asada, rice, beans, pico de gallo, and guacamole--and let me tell you... it was delicious. Hands down the best Mexican-style burrito I've found in Virginia Beach so far. The flavor was on point, and the size? MASSIVE. I easily got two meals out of it. My husband went with the brunch burrito, loaded with his choice of meat, eggs, potatoes, and cheese. He loved it too--and once again, the portion size did not disappoint. We also tried a horchata, which was the only letdown. Unfortunately, it didn't taste very authentic--more like it came from a powdered mix rather than being freshly made. Overall, the burritos alone make this spot worth checking out... just maybe skip the horchata

Best burritos in VB hands down. Recommend to everyone, they even have a pickled garnish bar which is very authentic, comparable to burritos out west, must've gone here 5 times beach to back for the norcal burrito with birria meat or whatever one has no fries in it, it's really good. Really good every time, the guac is amazing and fresh, the burritos are huge and great quality. Shoutout the chef for no customizations, their food doesn't need it.

One of my go-to spots for Mexican food. Every single time I've eaten here, the food has been fresh and seasoned to perfection. Let's get into my favorite, the carne asada fries. When I say they're a must, I mean it. I am absolutely hooked. The meat is tender, the fries are crispy, and the toppings are layered just right; it's comfort food done right. Plus, the portion sizes are generous, and you definitely get your money's worth, which is exactly how good Mexican food should be served. This is one restaurant I plan on visiting again and again and you better believe I'll be ordering those carne asada fries every single time.

The street tacos is a must try and loaded nachos. For the tacos try it with carnitas and chorizo. The chorizo was my favorite. The loaded nachos is really loaded. We had ours topped with carnitas and we were not disappointed. Really it could be someone's meal. The service is pretty simple, i.e. they take your order and call out your number when your food is ready. They were very nice behind the counter. There really isn't much to the ascetics. It's good for groups and good food.

Never heard of this place till friend took me here. She comes here for the frescas because I guess that is difficult to find around here. Well decorated and definitely gave the cultural vibe with the bright colors and art. I kept it simple with a mix of street tacos while my friend ordered the fries. I wasn't impressed with the fries but the tacos were pretty good. Not the best birria I have had but would definitely come back for lengua tacos! The cashier was not the most welcoming but overall food and vibe was authentic.

Here's the deal: Jessy's is located in a small shopping strip. While the building is a little older I did not think l it run down or in a part of town that I would consider questionable at all. I saw at least one review that noted this- could not disagree more., nothing to fear here. Plenty of parking and it's free! Once inside the restaurant is medium sized with seating for at least 15 parties and tables that can accommodative larger parties, 10+ people. There are two order stations at either side of the restaurant - one for hot food the other for ice cream and desserts. Service was friendly and attentive. You can choose to self order for takeout or be waited on. While staff wait on and bring you food and drink, pay is self pay at the food order counter. The menu is larger and has something for everyone. Proteins are optional for nearly every dish. The food here is authentic with lots of protections including some of my favorites- Al pastor and chicken tinga. Chips and salsa are scratch made and fresh- very good. We had street tacos which were very flavorful and also scratch cooked including the corn tortillas. Served with traditional hot sauces to add that little extra heat- awesome. The Al pastor was not grilled to get that char that some Al pastor dishes have but was otherwise spot on. Chicken tinga was perfect. If you are looking for authentic Mexican at reasonable prices, this is your place and absolutely worth a few minutes drive over. Hope to see you there sometime- happy eating!

We came here to celebrate a birthday, and it ended up being one of those meals where everything just hit. First off, those margaritas are no joke. Massive, flavorful, and strong in the best way. Bonus: they do $2 off specialty margs on Mondays, which is dangerous knowledge now that I have it. I went with the Coco Loco Margarita (1800 coconut tequila, coconut milk, triple sec, and sweetened flaked coconut), and WOW. It was creamy, refreshing, and honestly tasted like a tropical vacation. My friends ordered the House Marg, Peach Sangria Marg and the Spicy Pineapple & Cilantro Marg, all were just as impressive. The spicy one had a great kick without being overwhelming, and the peach option was super smooth and fruity. Before we even ordered, the complimentary chips, salsa, and that famous white sauce came out ... and let me tell you, that white sauce is to die for. I could've eaten that all night. For my dinner, I had the asada enchiladas, and I'm still thinking about them. Perfectly cooked grilled steak laid over cheesy enchiladas with verde sauce, plus rice and black beans. I loved that the steak was on top because once I got full, I could still pick at the protein (elite move). My friends got arroz con pollo, carne asada tacos, and the wildest dish on the table ... the El Molcajete. It came out sizzling in a stone bowl loaded with shrimp, beef, chicken, chorizo, cactus, and all the fixings. We all shared bites and it was unreal. We ended the night with the staff singing happy birthday and completely embarrassing my friend with a sombrero and a candle in his shot. Incredible. Definitely will be coming back, especially for that margarita deal and birthdays!

I had 3 people in front of me in line and it didn't take long at all for me to reach the register and place my order. I wasn't that hungry but wanted to try the food out, so I got a Truth flounder taco for $4.95. The food was made quickly and tasted good! Bro's Fish Tacos has about six signature sauces which looked good, but unfortunately, they all have dairy in them, so I asked for the mayo based tartar sauce instead. While all the signature sauces have dairy in them, I appreciated that they stated that fact on their menu beside where their sauces were listed. I wish I had come about an hour later in the day because, after ordering, I learned that they have a happy hour from 3 to 5:30 each day where The Truth Taco is $3.50 and other dishes are cheaper as well. Some street fries were ordered for the table, and I had fished out about 5 fries without the sauce (because I figured there was a dairy sauce and cheese on top) and the fries were really tasty as well! The atmosphere inside is very fun and bright with huge glass garage door windows letting light in and colorful paintings of animals on the walls. If you have sensitivity to noise, know that they keep the music volume pretty low, but since the restaurant is right on the boulevard and has large glass windows, you're likely going to hear some noisy cars drive by. Overall, I had a good experience and would come here again, especially on a Tuesday, Sunday or after 3pm since that's when they have the best deals (which I appreciate)!
