George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. The service technician who performed the repair was very nice, neat, clean, considerate and warned me about the odor issue since he had to do some welding. He was very polite to my building maintenance superintendent and thanked him for having prepped and drained the water lines correctly. He uninstalled and reinstalled my smoke detector so the fumes from the welding would not set it off. He waited until the Super returned to test the repair and ensure that hot water was flowing again correctly. The process was easy and the price was more reasonable than any other quotes I obtained. The impressive part was the quick response from Vlad who is the owner and a technician. He was able to send someone the next day. The person figured it out and got it fixed. However, something was off on the repair which I noticed and Vlad again quickly came out to correct it. These days it's hard to get the type of attention and response from most businesses. Also things inevitably go wrong and you want to make sure you can trust a business to correct any issues. They do both very well!

No other HVAC technician I've ever worked with before has done that. A/C maintenance went great too. First company I've ever hired that didn't try to sell me an entirely new unit just due to a faulty capacitor. Even gave me the model number of the capacitor to replace if I want to save money and do it myself (I'm reasonably handy so it's something I'd probably do).
