NL ROOFING REVIEW I needed a major portion of my roof replaced so I contacted 2 other roofers to look at my roof and get estimates. My neighbor had just recently had his roof replaced by NL Roofing and highly recommend Nelson and his crew. I had Nelson come and check my roof to give me an estimate. After discussing what he thought I would need to properly repair and replace my old roof, I asked Nelson what this would cost. Since I am retired with a very limited income, Nelson's first concern was to make sure that he was giving me a price I could afford. Not only did he give me a price I could afford that was significantly lower than the other quotes I had been given, he included several additional concerns I had. He told me he would paint the new wood I needed to repair part of my roof at no charge if I provided the paint. There were several problems with my old roof that were the result of poor workmanship and choice of materials used by the roofer who . The previous roofer that had replaced my roof a number of years prior had used insufficient flashing which was one of the reasons my roof was now leaking. Nelson included new wider flashing at no additional cost. There were a a number of other items that Nelson did not charge me for. Many of these items were all discovered after his crew removed my old roof. I was aware of what a bad roofing job could be because of my experience with my previous roofer and also because I had to do many repairs myself to make my old roof last longer. I called NL roofing last year for roof repairs. The estimate was reasonable, and the work was good. I did kind of have to track Nelson down to firm up and schedule the appointment, but once it was scheduled, they showed up when they said they would and I was very happy with the work and the price. Fast forward several months and I purchased a new home that needs roof repairs. I have texted and emailed Nelson multiple times about scheduling an appointment and I can't deal with the unresponsiveness any longer. Nelson and his crew were prompt, and reliable and stayed in communication with me on a roof repair. They fixed my issue after a storm and were more responsive than most of the companies I called. In addition to the roof repair, they replaced a faulty downspout that had a hole in it. They worked with me and my schedule so that I could paint the downspout before they attached it. I had Nelson come out because I thought I needed my roof repaired and gutters replaced. I have to say he is awesome! First, he is incredibly respectful. He put on a mask and took his shoes off before entering our house. Second, he's honest. After taking a look at the water damage, he told me my roof was actually fine but I did need to get my gutters cleaned and repaired but not replaced which would cost A LOT more. He said his company could do a replacement but it wasn't necessary in my case. I highly recommend Nelson and his company. I had an earlier quote to check on the cause of a stain on my bathroom ceiling. The first company only looked at the one area causing the leak, which was due to a clogged valley and cracked tiles, but Nelson looked at my entire roof and found 3 other clogged valleys, which may potentially cause problems in the future and many other cracked tiles. I had a damaged seamless gutter, about 30ft long and a cracked roof tile. I called about 10 different gutter repair companies, some said they can't do the replacement/repair because on my seamless, it sits underneath the roof tiles, some said I need to hired a roofing company removed the roof tiles so they can removed the damaged seamless gutter. I found a few that can do both, but wanted several thousands, but they all need to special order the seamless gutter.
