Never fun when you turn the key and nothing happens! Faced with the need for towing, I called AAA to initiate action. AAA was very helpful and to the point while guiding me through the process. They put me in touch with NK Towing; a company I've had one experience with (favorable) some years ago. NK arrived even faster than AAA indicated, where I met Trevor Colwell, obviously a seasoned agent in terms of this process. He made sure it was just a battery that needed replaced and not an alternator problem. My Daughters vehicle was impounded by OPD. I called NK & spoke to a Johnathon who seems to be the Driver Mgr for this team. He was rude, argumentative, lied to me on the phone stating he was not at the property when he was watching us from the dispatch office of NK towing. I as a dispatcher know that almost everything he was telling me was indeed NOT a fact. I also understand the demands of dispatching and how contracts with Different police agencys have to be followed and enforced. He was not following these guidelines. I will follow up with OPD on this Matter as well as DOT, BBB and a couple more places. This is by far the ugliest experience i have had in dealing with customer service. In the couple times I've used them through AAA, they've broken a piece off of my van, lost my keys which cost $50 to replace as they are old and vintage car keys, I called and they ignored me and then I called to complain and talked to someone and they gave me a huge attitude. They are not professional. Now I called AAA to get towed but I asked them to send a different company. I have to wait an hour more but it's worth it not to deal with these fools again. And NK was initially on the way but when I found that out I had it changed. So that's what you get when you don't give good service! On Sunday, May 7 I called AAA for a tow from Oceanside to Huntington Beach. AAA sent NK towing whom they contract with. NK towing was supposed to pick me up and my pick up truck on a flatbed truck at 10:15pm! After waiting an hour and a half for NK Towing 15 minutes before NK towing was due to arrive. They called me and said my request had been canceled leaving me stranded at Aliso Creek rest stop in Oceanside! The lady I spoke with at NK towing said they did not have enough drivers and the next driver would be available at 6 o'clock in the morning. I told her I'm not spending the night in my truck from 10 PM till 6 AM! So of course I got on Google and I called another tow company and they came right away! Day before Christmas and 2020 keeps on giving! Both my batteries are dead and battery posts were corroded and my truck would not start. Trying to get home for Christmas! It's 11am on Dec 24th and I'm getting an earful from my wife and were are stuck at a camp ground getting ready to go home. Truck decided not to start...packed with kids..wife..dog. I went thru a pothole. The tire went flat and shredded. I called AAA and they sent NK Towing to help. NK Towing rep. replaced the bad tire with my brand new spare tire. The rep claimed I needed some air in the tire, he attached what looked a tire inflator and we waited a few minutes. The NK Towing rep. told us everything was fine, the tow truck took off, and we attempted to drive off in the I-15 carpool lane. We had driven about a few hundred yards when we heard a lot of noise coming from the replaced tire and stopped to investigate. And right behind us the same NK Towing truck showed. I told him the tire he just replaced has shredded. Without making any comments about the tire he asked to tow my car to any place I wanted. In the end, NK Towing towed my car for approximately $300.00. I can't help thinking that the NK Towing driver showing up behind me was no coincidence, and that he intentionally flattened my spare tire to cause it to shred so I will ask for a tow. read more
